I wouldn't even give it a star if I could. Absolutely terrible customer service. I tried calling for 45 minutes and when I finally gave up I left a voice mail and they called me back 2 minutes later and told me to never visit their establishment again and that I was unwelcome because of a supposed "prank call." So customer service is nothing but a joke to them. The website is terrible and doesn't give enough information to where you have to call and they never pick up anyways. If you ever have a question either go there directly or just go to a different movie theater entirely because they basically told me to fuck off and that they have other customers they actually appreciate unlike myself read more

I've experienced cinema and dining before but this is the first time in my beautiful city of Mobile! This place is absolutely awesome and the best I've ever enjoyed! A state of the arts facility, you can enjoy just the dining experience or dining while watching the latest movie! Food ordering is made simple because each and every seat has an iPad for you to select your meal, drinks and unlimited free popcorn! You can call your server or even pay your bill via the iPad! Downstairs there is a dining area and bar. The theaters are also downstairs. Upstairs is a sports bar and lounge! The food and service are both fantastic! Almost all the food is "a la carte"and is VERY over priced for the quality/quantity. No drink refills and there's only 1 size for a soda (Tervis cups, mostly filled with ice). We went the 2nd weekend they were open and comments weren't allowed on the iPads yet so it was very awkward when I needed my food replaced (fried shrimp tasted too salty and frozen) so my husband had to tell over the movie why we needed my food replaced. Overall the chairs were comfortable and the environment more intimate than a typical theatre. I'm glad we went but we most likely won't be back. read more

No cell reception. Barely reclining recliners. No refills on drinks. Popcorn advertised as a Large was not at all the size it should have been. (Picture enclosed shows a regular spoon in comparison to the buckets.) Incompetent employees who do not know how to work the registers. No apparent managers on duty. Overpriced tickets. Their only redeeming quality was the picture itself, which was, to be fair, quite good. Additionally popcorn is no longer being served with unlimited refills or with the tickets bought. Love this place. The audio and video quality is top quality, latest generation technology. The theater is very clean and smaller than similar venues like Alamo. The seats are very comfortable. The menu is extensive and has healthier options than other cinema dining experiences. I splurged, though. and enjoyed Avengers: End Game with a splurge dinner of steak tips, steamed broccoli and cheesecake bites for dessert. (The Merlot was good as well.) My wife and I really enjoyed our experience here. When we walked inside, it was open and you can see up to the 2nd floor. You walk forward to purchase tickets or pick up your tickets if you ordered online. There's only two theater rooms on the 1st floor and the 2nd floor has one for private viewings. We got the assigned recliner seats and they were pretty comfortable. There were iPads on the side of the seats where you can order food and drinks. My wife and I ordered drinks and we paid for them right there on the iPad too. It was pretty convenient to take care of all that from your seat. My fiancé and I are HUGE movie-goers. We're relatively new to Mobile and I somehow stumbled upon this place online...and we loved it! It's pricey, but totally worth it for the adult-atmosphere, beyond comfy chairs, and solid drink/food menu. The instructions weren't very clear with the iPads when trying to pay, but a sweet lady next to me helped me out (she'd had the same problem when it was her first time at the theater). We went on the Nexus Cinema's Grand Opening Day and overall enjoyed the experience. The theatre's recliners are very nice. I did see the chairs with tables set up, but since those are the same price as the recliners, my recommendation is to book a recliner! Buy your tickets in advance and select your seats ahead of time! Pro's: The movie screen and quality of sound are excellent! The quality is much better than the other local theatres. There is a bar and dining area outside of the movie rooms as well. It's a lot of fun to order and receive your items without having to get up from your seat. The servers were very respectful while delivering food and drinks when the movie is playing but you can't really have a conversation with the server about your needs if you order something during the movie. Con's: It's pretty expensive. On the day we went, the movie was around $17 per person. From what I understand, they have reduced rates Monday through Thursday at around $9 per ticket. On the day we went, it was GRAND OPENING day, so the food was $1, $3, and $5. We ordered a good bit of food and together with our movie, it was a total of about $70 for two people. We ordered popcorn, 2 beverages, 1 milkshake, Chicken Canape appetizer, Voodoo shrimp, BBQ sandwich, and a crab dish. The shrimp tasted undercooked but the chicken canape appetizer was good. I am not sure how much these are normally, but the total was around $35 on the special grand opening day with much reduced pricing. I hope they continue to have specials for food, drinks and movies. I saw that another reviewer mentioned the popcorn is free but I saw prices on the ipad menu for popcorn and it looked to be 99 cents for a tiny portion or $3.99 for a modest portion (32 oz). The food is brought to you by servers, so you do need to tip. Overall, I give the food an "okay" rating. Not amazing and the prices for the food are high. There are only two theatres, so the movie that you want to see may or may not be playing on the day you'd like to go. Basically, this is a theatre that you'll need to plan to go to and know in advance what is showing. In my opinion, this is a perfect movie spot for a date but not a place I would go regularly ONLY due to the prices not due to the quality of the theatre. read more

This is an incredible place. It is a little pricier than most movie theaters but it is well worth the money. Menu is delicious and they have a great selection of ice cold adult beverages. It is also very kid friendly. We took our two kids to watch the incredibles and had an amazing time. They also offer a military discount on tickets and food. If your going to go see a movie this is the only way to go! Think movie, meets relaxation, with a dash of fine dining. The seats are very comfortable and they recline All the way back allowing your feet to be propped up as well. The menu doesn't have too much but the little they do offer taste pretty decent considering it is a movie theater. The only reason they are getting 4 stars and not 5 is because the movie selection is very limited. If they played every movie like a normal theater they would definitely get 5 stars. read more

The audio and video quality are unmatched by any theater near Mobile. Very comfy recliners. The staff was so great. The only reason I can't give 5 stars is because of the food. 2 our of the 4 items I ordered were inedibly disgusting. The Cajun fries ($5) were far too seasoned and very herby. The voodoo shrimp ($17) was totally unseasoned except for a sauce drizzle that tasted like caramelized cough syrup. I could only get down a bite of each, so they removed those items from my bill with no issue. The nacho bites ($8) were okay, mostly tasted like refried beans. The frappé flavor ($6) was nice, but it wasn't frozen at all, just cold. The menu is far too expensive to be as bad as it is. I really hope they revamp the menu, because then this place would be the perfect night out. read more

This was our first visit to Nexus. The concept is great but our experience had a few glitches. First of all, we were in the cinema room which is more of a meeting room with long tables and rolling office chairs. I will say we knew in advance and the price was amazing at less than 7 bucks a ticket. If you want to see a movie on a budget, it's a great deal. Be aware that the floor is flat so you are at the mercy of the height of the patrons sitting in front of you. With this set up, the servers coming in and out was a bit distracting. Maybe with some extra training on not blocking the screen during the movie is in order. The servers were pretty quiet and efficient,but again with the flat floor it was very distracting having people repeatedly walk in front of screen. There may also need to be some gentle reminders to patrons that they are not in their living rooms. Some people have no home training. ‍ Great wine and beer options and although we only had popcorn the menu looked good. We will certainly give it a try next time. read more

Only opened 4 months ago, it only has 2 screens, but the lobby and the sports bar up stairs are nice. The food is delicious, I had the brisket sliders and salt and pepper fries. They have a ton of beer on tap, wine, and even themed specialty drinks. The employees are SUPER helpful and amazing! It's an experience different from the normal chain movie theaters. read more

Some might think it's pricey, but I look at it like this, if you go out to eat before the movie, you might be spending the same amount. The only 2 things I didn't like, were 1. Apparently this theater just opened and a friend told us about it. Reclining chairs, lunch/dinner while you watch a movie and drinks if you want too (alcoholic) and the biggest plus, no one under 18 without supervision. We thought awesome. A nice lunch, no kids ( ours were at school)...who would bring kids to a nice restaurant /theater where there was a bar unless they were teenagers...we were wrong. Right when I thought peace and quiet to enjoy new avengers movie a family of four plus grandma walks in...mom, dad , baby and probably 2 year old. Not really appropriate for that age but who am I to judge. What pissed me off was the baby was already fussing and the toddler was throwing a tantrum. That's when any person who has a modicum of respect for others would have left, but no they stayed. After an hour my husband and I couldn't take it and left. We asked for a refund but the best they could offer was for us to pick a day to come back. They really just need to say no one under 18. People would still come. The food was decent. read more

We ordered dinner, popcorn and drinks. Dinner was just ok, a low grade restaurant type, popcorn wasn't fresh and drinks were over priced. The environment was great though. It's a bit more expensive than your usual cinema, but it's worth every penny. It caters to a higher end clientele so you don't have to deal with loud talking or people kicking your seat. Update: Went back. Had a great time again! I looked deeper into the menu: it turns out there is an extensive section of the tablet menu for mixed drinks and liquors. I had the steak tips again: they were charred and overcooked...sad. Service was great. They seemed to be having issues with patrons passing drinks to their minor companions. If you're gonna do that, buy a bottle and go to a big theater. Don't get this place shut down. The staff was on it though; squashed it like a bug. They've got cameras on you and can see everything you're doing, so behave kids! Original Review: Comfortable seats, great picture and sound, expedient service... Service! I'm not used to being able to order food and drink from my seat in a theater. I'm sure the novelty of in-theater service carried a lot of weight toward my enjoyment, but overall, it was a great experience and my wife & I will be back ASAP! The ordering process was nicely streamlined and easy enough for anyone who's ever ordered a pizza online. There isn't an obvious way to comment on an order though, so if you need something specific, there's no good way to go about it. There's no obvious way to combine checks either, so designate an orderer if you are trying to stick to a single check. The food was better than I expected before reading the menu, but the menu descriptions over-sell it a little bit. It's mostly bite-sized, fried bar food. Manage your expectations and you should have a good time. The nacho balls and the mac & cheese balls were good. The steak tips were pretty great! However, if memory serves even though they were listed as filet tips, buthey tasted more like strip steak in flavor and texture. They were still very lean, tender and delicious, but don't lie to me about my food! We went to see A Star is Born recently. Movie was good. Recliners were very comfortable and sound was great. Cost to purchase tickets is very overpriced. Food was not good and overpriced also. Fries and chicken in Asian salad were overcooked and charred. There is also no obvious plan in place to notify management about loud viewers. We sat between two other couples that talked throughout the movie. It is nice that children cannot attend without an adult, but these people talked as much as any child would have. The dinner theaters we have attended in Houston far surpass Nexus. The ticket prices are more reasonable (around $10.00), food is much better in quality and there are free drink refills. The food is also priced more reasonably with more entree sized portions. There is also a way to use the iPad to notify management about disruptive viewers. With a few adjustments, Nexus probably would have better attendance. read more

The lights would not go off during the movie. The owner showed up and he was very very rude about HIS theater malfunctioning. There were two theaters with the same issue and he canceled one of the movies and comped their food. In my movie Frozen 2 where they finally fixed the lights after an 1hr into the 1hr 44min movie (6:05-7:10), he offered refunds and no comps. If you received a refund you had to leave and either reschedule or just get your money back. He said "the lights didn't affect the food" it did not affect the food from the people upstairs either but they received a 100% comp. He finally offered a 25% comp. But he was so rude to the patrons in the theater for an issue that was caused by him. He started yelling saying "The lights off now you can get your money back and leave or you can stay and watch the movie!!". The people in the theater were looking like at their children, who didn't care, and just astonished at what was happening. You would think he would have been apologetic seeing as how the tickets were $18.23 a piece. But he treated us like if we came back or not it would not effect him at all. Its sad when you are treated as if you should be grateful to be a patron at anyone's establishment. read more
