    The most amazing fries

Small sandwich shop with some outdoor seating. The thing I really liked about this place is that they get a lot of their ingredients locally and ethically. They use free range eggs and chickens which is really great. Service was ok and they give you an order form to fill out with what meats, toppings, and sauces you like. What I didn't like is that every ingredient costs (even lettuce and tomato) so you really feel nickel and dimed. We got a hamburger with tomatoes, cheese and ketchup, a grilled chicken breast sandwich with lettuce, tomatoes, cheese and tzaziki and some French fries. The sandwiches were just okay. I felt there was too much bread to meat ratio and the bread they serve is very crusty and hard. The fries were amazingly good. Almost the best I've ever had. Cooked just right and didn't taste oily at all. I'm not sure what that says about a place that serves burgers and the best thing on the menu is the fries. They are pretty busy but I wouldn't go back again for the sandwiches as it can really add up and wasn't too impressive.

After having been in Italy a week we were Getting sick of pasta and pizza, and were craving a burger. Found this little place on our way to the train station in Sorrento. The burgers are good sized and served on ciabatta bread, which is tasty, but crusty. Made eating a burger a little more difficult. We had the Cheeseburger and the n'hambu. Both were good and were just what we were craving. Not an American style burger, the meat has a texture more like meatloaf, but it was good none the less. Fries were really good. They were lightly coated and cooked perfectly. Nice and crispy. If you are in Sorrento and need a break from Italian food, give this place a try.

We had spent the entire day travelling the Amalfi coast in a small boat so by the time we got back…read moreto our Airbnb, we were exhausted. We obviously needed dinner, and were not about to just have our breakfast provisions for dinner. After a quick google search, we saw Torna a Surriento Trattoria, with great reviews across all platforms, especially Yelp, was a 1 minute walk from us. I could see it from our driveway. This was the answer. We got there about 3 min before opening and there were already people waiting to be seated. Quite the good sign. After about 15 min from being seated, the place was almost full. The restaurant screams homey, in the best ways. It's bright and cheerful, with eclectic decorations that aren't over the top annoying or too busy. The tables are laid out well and spaced nicely. And it was clean. The wall decorations and other stuff around weren't covered in dust. I loved that. The value here is incredible. I read quite a few reviews saying stuff like, oh the high ratings are because the food is so cheap. Yes, the food is inexpensive but it's home cooking. It was delicious. I went to a 1 star Michelin restaurant while in Sorrento and spent literally 1000 Euro for the two of us. I'm not saying that experience wasn't amazing, because it was, I would do it again. But I would abso-freaking-lutely come back to eat at this restaurant at about 100 Euro for 4 people, including cocktails and wine. the king prawn on the Scialatiello allo scoglio was so tender and delicious, I have nasty daydreams about it. I can't say that about the prawn dish I had at the starred restaurant. Now was everything a hit? No. I wasn't a fan of cold broccoli rabe on our starter and thought there would be more fried fish, but the elements on it were delicious, save the broccoli. Also, this place is a good time. Check out their website/Facebook page. The singing and absolute joy is what we experienced and even I, the person who hates being sung to with a vehement passion, the secondhand embarrassment is super real with me, enjoyed myself.

It not the most high end wine, but it tastes decent. The house bread was perfectly baked. We got an order of gnocchi Sorrentino and a broccoli pasta. Both were delicious, but I wouldn't order the broccoli pasta unless you really like the taste of broccoli. Ended with meloncello which was creamy and sweet - the best digestive and a welcome change after all the limoncello we'd had!

The atmosphere is gorgeous and a reason to visit in itself. We started with mozzarella and tomato, and some fried calamari. They give you about a pound of mozzarella, it was insane. It was the only time on my vacation that I felt uncomfortably full and had a stomach ache because we felt like we had to finish it, ha! The menu is absolutely huge which is definitely a red flag, and I even still, nothing was calling out to me. I ended up going with the lamb chops with a green salad and fried zucchini. The lamb tasted good but there was a lot of fat. The salad was literally just a bowl of iceberg lettuce with no other toppings and no dressing, and the fried zucchini never came. The server also didn't return to the table until we were done so I couldn't let him know. This is a huge restaurant with too much menu items making it hard for waiters to get to their tables in a timely manner, and even harder for the chefs to be able to put effort and care into every dish. I knew the reviews beforehand so I didn't have high expectations and therefore wasn't disappointed. If you want to visit for the ambiance and not the food, you should. Make sure you walk up to the lemon garden after dinner, it is beautiful.

It tastes like it was frozen and reheated and some of the food was cold. It was all under seasoned and over priced. The wine does not come in individual glasses and you have to get a small bottle. After having nothing but amazing food and wine on the Almafi coast, this place had the worst of both. The service is nonexistent and think they prefer locals who speak Italian. It took a very long time to just get our water and order. I know Italian culture takes their time, but it took them 40 mins and us asking two times for the check before it finally arrived. It was also very awkward when the waiter asked for the tip. Very disappointing overall and would not recommend anyone to come here. Olive Garden is better than this.
