He and the crew were thoroughly professional, courteous and meticulous about the job. He provided a written estimate and final invoice. Rise has full liability and worker's compensation coverage as well as the required bond. There been no action against the CCB license. I would definitely recommend Rise to anyone looking for a contractor to perform painting or wood refinishing work. Cheyney is the only one of three contractors who returned my call, which he did within 10 minutes. He is the ONLY contractor whom I could locate in Deschutes County who is willing to take on this type of project. The door looks better than when it was new! They replied that they weren't happy with the company they used and that they had wished they had used HSP. We asked HSP to provide us with a bid. All three bids we received were comparable in price and materials used, and all had favorable reviews. We went with HSP because the project manager Michael really seemed to care about the job. We are very glad that we did. After working with HSP there were two things that set this company apart IMO. The first was the quality of the work that Rigo and Miguel did. It was impeccable, they did so much prep work prior to actually painting that at the end of the job my wife and I noticed one brushstroke on our exterior ceiling fan. That's it! The neighbor I referenced earlier made the comment " If our painters had done half as much prep work as yours did we wouldn't have had the issues that we did." The second was what the company did when there was a "hiccup", and there are ALWAYS little things with jobs like this. Whether it's the weather, paint color not what you expected, etc... Whenever there was a "hiccup" Michael was three things, communicative about it and proactive in getting it resolved quickly. We also had the pleasure of speaking with the owner PJ and found that he had the same positive qualities. In closing, HSP provides a quality job at a fair price and they make it right if there is an issue. The floors overall turned out okay with the exception of some uneven finished areas and some spots…read morewith visible scouring. The issues I had stemmed from the quote for the demo more than doubling after the first day. Communication and time management was an issue. The house was very dirty when I did the walkthrough to the point that it was hard to tell how polished the floors were and I had to clean areas with a wet towel so that I could see better. All of the walls will also need to be repainted. Be prepared for a lot of excuses through the process, I was told countless times that they were losing money on this job which seemed pretty unprofessional to me, and I suppose suggests that they are doing me a favor? A businesses inability to properly quote a job and account for the time needed to finish is not a customer's fault. When I mentioned the walls and how there was scouring on the floors, they said it was because they were trying to get it done fast for me, so again, the reason it was not cleaned and that some areas were not done correctly was because of me. If you point out any issue or run into anything during the process, you will most likely be told of all the reasons why the job was not what they expected and that they are doing more than they bargained for.
