Hoang came up with so many creative ideas for our shoot at Cedar Hill State Park.  You can tell from the photos that we were having a blast!  It felt like we were just hanging out with a friend rather than having a stranger lurking around us. :) He really captured us accurately and in the most flattering way. Before the shoot, Hoang was very responsive to our questions, especially about where/when to shoot (as we all know, DFW weather is rather unpredictable) and what to wear. For those who are looking for a wedding photographer, here's why you need Laura: 1) Flawless Execution One of the MOST IMPORTANT lessons I learned from wedding planning is that the on-the-day execution trumps any portfolio. Wedding photography is a completely different ball game from studio photography and unfortunately, many of the current "wedding photographers" fall in the second category. It's easy to set up the perfect lighting, line up the perfect angle, and set up the perfect pose for a "perfect shot" (and even apply the perfect filter afterwards). That's studio photography and anyone can do that given a good camera. Wedding photography, on the other hand, is about capturing the moments. It's about having the instinct and the experience to capture those split seconds, those candid moments, and knowing how to respond to those unexpected events (which happens at every wedding). Laura's execution is flawless, which comes from her extensive resume and attention to details. Her efficiency is off the chart. That's how she can crank out 3,000 pics (while others can only do 800) w/o compromising quality. 2) Excellent Support Team All of the packages comes with 2 photographers + 1 "assistant", with Laura being the lead photographer most of the time. However, the rest of the team is superb as well (unlike other studios that just grab some complete newbie). Everyone on the team has their own photography studio, including the "assistant". Our second photographer actually charges more than Laura does at her own studio! How Laura can get her as a second photographer is beyond my understanding. So essentially, you're getting 3 professional photographers. What a deal! Each photographer has his/her distinct on-the-day roles. Laura is in charge of constantly following the couple, period. The second photographer is in charge of the guests, all the candid moments, and setup for some artistic studio shots. Everyone is professionally dressed and communicated well. With 3 photographers, you can easily get 100% coverage of the entire wedding. As a cherry on top, Laura personally processes some pics immediately after the wedding (usually past midnight) and will have a sneak peak of about 70 pics ready before the morning. 3) Contagious Personality Laura loves weddings. She genuinely loves weddings and helping brides, and her excitement is contagious. She's much more than just a photographer that you hire for one day. My wife and I have gained a friend though the process. I would recommend Fairytale and Laura to everyone looking for a true wedding photographer. I've gone to many weddings over the past few years and I can confidently say that no one came anywhere close to the level of execution that Laura had. You know... those "in your face" photographers who get good shots but ruins the moment; those scrappily dressed photographers who looks like they hate their jobs; those studio photographers that takes 5 mins to set up each shot; yeah... you don't want them at your wedding day. He is very laid back and easy to work with which you want on your wedding day. He had an assistant for our ceremony as well who was very good as well. We received our digital album about a month after the wedding (good timing), and we share with our family and friends who keep talking about how beautiful the images are! We are planning on ordering some prints as well as sending the files to a album maker for something to hopefully last generations (archival prints are key!). If you like documentary style photography with deep tones (rather than super bright Lifestyle Instagram pictures), then Jacque is right for you! Prior to the shoot, he was very helpful when I was selecting a location and wardrobe, insuring that what I chose would fit my style while giving me the greatest possible photos. My makeup was professionally done on site and then we got to shooting. He made me SO comfortable throughout the entire shoot. I've never done anything like this before and I wasn't sure what to expect from myself, the poses, etc. but it was perfect from start to finish. I am a frugalist (some one argue cheapskate), who doesn't often write reviews (it's too cumbersome) and, in retrospect, had some pretty lofty expectations for all of our vendors ( i mean, who doesn't?! It's your big day). But enough with the basic, fluffy adjectives...Here are some specific EXAMPLES: - Trying to save some money, we opt-ed for no engagement photos, but then had some excruciating circumstances happen with our family and changed our mind. We must have gone back and forth 3x with Stefani, but each time she was very patient, flexible, and understanding. Not to mention, we made her drive back from Vegas early just for our photoshoot (yes, we were quite demanding) - Not only was she flexible with the timing and style of our engagement photos, but she was such a team player. The site of our photos might have been closed, but she was willing to jump the fence just to make this happen. Who doesn't love a bad@$$ with such passion and fervor?! - We wanted a group photo of all of our guests (+150 ppl). This girl was willing to stand on a bunch of wobbly, stacked boxes just to get the perfect shot. And that she did - We wanted very specific full length shots. Stefani not only took that feedback, but would also suggest other angles that ultimately turned out gorgeous! We especially love the empty reception ballroom shot with the flying veil that she captured (see attached) And last but not least, she wasn't like your other shameless vendors who beg and solicit for Yelp reviews in return for deals. This review is solely because I can't stop raving about how great Stefani was/is/will be. As for your other vendors...yeah, good luck with that. :)
