I was…read moretaking a friend who had never been there and we stopped at the rest stop on I-90 and talked to a man at the information center. He asked if we had a hotel which we did and he started telling us about the guided tour. We decided to sign up for $129. Per person which included Cave of the winds, Maid of the Mist / Goat Island and Whirlpool State Park. Our guide was Larry a knowledgeable guy with a fantastic voice (He could be a sportscaster or do voice overs on a Commercial!) he drove about a dozen of us on a little bus to all the locations and telling us all kinds of interesting facts and threw in some jokes along the way! My friend and I had a great time and made some friends along the way. I highly recommend the tour! When you think of the driving, paying for parking and paying for each experience, it was well worth it. So glad I got to be a part of Larry's Legends!!!

I was part of a group of 38 who went on a 3 day chartered Landmark bus trip from Rochester NY to…read moreNYC to attend the UP Open Tennis tournament on 9/4-9/6/15 Landmark provided two drivers (one in training) on the trip down and one on the return. While the drivers were pleasant, they appeared very inexperienced and unfamiliar with NYC streets and the routes to and from the tennis center in Flushings Meadows. They also had difficulty driving within the lanes and avoiding curbs in the tunnels. The trip is normally 7 hrs and we quickly learned that the air conditioning was not working on this hot and humid weekend. When the first person went to use the toilet, they also learned the light inside the small compartment did not work. The drivers acted surprised. We also learned that the drivers were unfamiliar with NYC streets and the hotel location. They had no written directions and attempted to use a GPS, but it was for passenger, not commercial vehicles and didn't provide any guidance on restricted NYC roads and low bridges. This was especially problematic on the trips to/from the hotel and the tennis center on Friday and Saturday. The driver eventually asked passengers to navigate for him, which they did for two days. But the driver could not find his way in, out of the tennis center or where to park the bus. In summary, I would never go on another trip that used Landmark buses and drivers. The trips took longer than necessary do to the lack of experience with the area. I have no confidence in who they hire, what experience they require, who they assign to drive on trips, no pre-trip checks of their vehicles and the apparent lack of any training and support to drivers. For example, the driver said he had to travel an hour away to NJ to park the bus overnight on Friday & Saturday. He was unaware of where to park in NYC. This was truly an unbelievable experience that other people should avoid.

Tasted like it had been boiled for hours then sprayed with grill marks. Simply awful. The one and only bite I took was already half way down my throat when I realized I wanted to get as far away from it as possible. That out of the way... Everything else was a charm! I boarded Niagara City Cruises with the confidence of someone who had never seen Niagara Falls and assumed the complimentary red poncho would keep me dry. Wrong. We got absolutely blasted by the falls! It was spectacular fun! The experience began innocently enough. The falls looked beautiful from a distance. People were smiling. Birds were flying. Families were taking photos. Then the boat moved closer and nature abruptly decided that everyone on board needed a shower. Literally thousands of gallons of water a second are crashing from the sky. The poncho performed admirably if its job was protecting approximately 60 percent of my body. My hair and face were soaked. My pant legs and shoes were drenched. My poncho kept bellowing in the wind. I looked around at one point and I saw that this was everyone's story. The closer we got to the falls, the less we could see. The magnificent view slowly transformed into a white wall of mist, wind and life choices. Conversations became impossible. Communication was reduced to pointing, yelling and laughing. The power is overwhelming. The noise is deafening. The mist is relentless. The memory is unforgettable. Yes, it was incredible and I wish to have this experience -- without the hot dog -- all over again!
