Jessica was an absolute A.W.E.S.O.M.E. Tour guide. She was knowledgeable and gave us a lot of tips and tricks about each site we visited (where to stand in the boat and when to wear and the quality of the ponchos). She was kind and patient with everybody in the group. Now for the attractions...the Maid of the Mist and Cave of the Winds were definitely an AMAZING experience. On the Maid of the Mist, you get close to Horshoe Falls and just feel the loud roar and energy of the falls. Absolutely stunning! Went on the hurricane deck at Cave of the Winds and got a hydrotherapy massage underneath Bridal Veil Falls. The water was intense and so powerful. A magnificent experience. We had lunch at Maple Leaf Place. Food was ok. Couldn't really eat from the food court since I have IBS so I don't have much to say about the food. The steak poutine was recommended and I was told that it was good. ‍ I didn't skip out on the maple syrup and fudge tasting though. Yum! Delicious. Had no clue there were 3 different types of maple syrup and I found that I like the dark amber syrup the best. Bought some chocolate covered blueberries and jujubes. My husband loved them...me not so much. I prefer my chocolate with no fruit, but I did enjoy their tasty orange dreamsicle fudge. Because there was a big tour bus that arrived at Maple Leaf Place just a few minutes we got there, our time at the food court took too long since the lines were long and everybody in my family were hungry. This meant that it cut our time for souvenir shopping. I'm sure my hubby was happy about that. After lunch, we went to Skylon Tower and went to the observation deck. This is a classic case of mileage may vary, depending on the person. Here's my take on Over the Falls Tours: Good: -Picks you up and drops you off at your hotel, so that's a lot more convenient than having to get to a meeting point. -I wanted to do Cave of the Winds and Skylon Tower, and they were on the list of spots they do, so it was convenient, especially with having to cross the border for Cave the Winds. -David, our guide, was personable and pleasant Bad: -The 20% tip sign. Not so much so for the sign itself, but for the fact that, as a tourist, I didn't have any cash on me. They give you a card at the end to give the guide/company feedback; they could at least give you the option to send the guide payment through electronic means as well. -The hour-long lunch stop. I could do without the lunch stop. Again, some people probably really wanted it, but for me, I would've rather hit more up. -The guide basically just took us to the stops and said meet me back here at X. They say on the site that guides love taking pictures for you, well that's kind of hard to do, if you're way back up at the van. Not that I wanted my picture taken at any time, and if I did I could've asked someone in the group to, but it just seemed odd for him to stay back. Especially if somebody in the group got injured or something. -We didn't seem to do much. Maid of the Mist, Cave of the Winds, lunch, the actual power station, whirlpool, floral clock, Table Rock, and Skylon Tower. I had done pretty much everything else, so I don't know what more they could've done. But maybe they could've done 1-2 more things if they shortened the lunch break. I got a couple of discounts when I signed up, but ultimately, I don't think it was worth it. I don't regret it, but if I could do it over, I would've just crossed the border myself to do Cave of the Winds and Maid of the Mist, and done Skylon Tower on my own. read more

David was a wonderful guide! He provided a seamless trip from place to place and was very informative about all the stops and more. We learned historic facts and fun facts about the area. He was interesting and extremely polite. This tour was worth every penny, and if you did all this on your own, it would be overwhelming. David had every ticket ready in hand for each of us and pulled into the best parking spots. He also gave us insider information, which made the experience extraordinary. The bus was very comfortable and was locked up at each stop so you could leave belongings on the bus as you were out and about. The hotel and drop-off were great, especially at the end of the day. Obviously you pay way more money to take this tour, than to do these destinations on your own, Pros and Cons? Certainly. Pros: -They pick you up at either your hotel, or a designated area. -You get to go to the highlight spots without having to purchase separate tickets. -You do not have to pay for parking, or attempt to find parking for each of the attractions. -Border crossing could not be more easy. Cons: -You may not get to spend as much time, or you may spend too much time for you, at each of the attractions. -You are tied to a group, so part of the pace of you journey is tied to the others you are bundled with. -The "Lunch" stop. Yes you can pack your own, you can purchase at the designated spot which has a store and a Maple Syrup tasting, but clearly this is a designated tourist trap and of course the stop here was quite long. -The sign in the front of the van to "Tip your drivers, that 20% is customary as this is how they make the majority of their wages" read more

Amazing tour! So glad to have booked and found this on Viator as it gave us the chance to see both sides of the Falls. Pick-up may be earlier than the scheduled time depending on how many places are picked up so be sure to get up early for the morning tour and check your text messages. It is pricy but well worth it as it is the only way to see both sides of the falls without having to drive or taxi and meet other amazing people. Nancy was amazing and knowledgable and was also very accommodating of our disabilities. We bought snacks since we didn't expect to be able to get lunch but we did stop for a delicious lunch at Maple Leaf Place that had wonderful Canadian food as well as ice wine and maple beer and an amazing store attached. We started with Cave of the Winds and followed with a view of Three Sisters Island on Goat Island on the US Side and then went to Canada where we did the Hornblower cruise followed by lunch and then went to the Niagara Whirlpool on the north side of town and ended the day at Skylon Tower before heading back to our hotels. This is our favorite tour we have ever done anywhere and would highly recommend to anyone without a car or wants to visit the Canada side from the US without paying the extra cost for more insurance (as many of the US boarded customers did). read more

He was also a master at time organization and managed to keep our group together and moving along. TEAM NANCY!!! She was amazing. She picked us up at our hotel and from the first introductions her energy was amazing. We picked up 14 more people and then headed to the Cave of the Winds. Only con is that they need better ponchos, esp. for fluffy people. So if you are fluffy BRING YOUR OWN. Plus the seagulls were everywhere so beware of being pooped on. Thankfully a gift shop was on site if you needed a change of clothes. Then we went to the Canadian side and THAT WAS THE BEST VIEW OF THE FALLS. Journey Behind the Falls/ Horseshoe Falls, and again when you get there the ponchos were SLIGHTLY better BUT...you will still get wet!! The "behind the falls" viewing windows were...MEH. The gift shop there was the best!! Better variety and even a clearance section. You don't get the Team Nancy discount there but I liked it way better. Then we went to lunch where I was able to try poutine and ice wine for the first time and it was amazing!! There is also a gift shop where you can try chocolate, fudge, and maple syrup. This is where you get the Team Nancy discount on lunch and souvenirs. Then we made a couple stops to see the rapids at the Whirlpool Aero Car (which was not in service because of the winds), The Floral Clock (which was not set right but still chimed at 3pm on time), The Canadian and American power plants, and a quick drive through downtown before we got to Skylon tower. Skylon tower was amazing!!! Such a beautiful view of the entire falls. It was VERY windy and cold though. But the Starbucks there warmed us up. We did the maid of the mist and Canadian side tour with Jairus (the ukulele guy!) and had a fabulous time! First off, major props to the customer service folks working behind the scenes. They responded to my emails quickly and when our flight got cancelled and we had to change the pickup time and location, they were able to switch things easily for us which was so helpful. We met our group of 15 at the aquarium in Niagara, NY (tip - parking is free on the weekdays, at least in May!) and headed to Luna Island and Terrapin point, both on the US side. The views were amazing! We then hopped back in the mini bus and headed to the maid of the mist. That was fun but you definitely get wet! We stood on the port side underneath and still got a bit wet, though the ponchos helped. We crossed the border which took maybe 25 min and stopped at a look out above the Canadian falls. We then did a lunch/souvenir stop at maple leaf place. Definitely touristy and overpriced. The food was just okay, so recommend bringing snacks and your own water! We then went to the whirlpool lookout and finished the tour going up the skylon tower. So many amazing views! I highly recommend picking a weekday and avoiding the peak season if you can! We chose a Friday in May (the first day the maid of the mist was open actually) and the crowds were minimal and weather perfect. The tour also can last longer than anticipated depending on the border, so we got picked up around 9:45am and were back to our car on the NY side around 4pm. We loved J though, he had great stories and his ukulele playing was unique! Highly recommend this tour to see all of the sights of Niagara. read more

My experience from planning to coming home was spectacular. My family and I visited NYC for one week but we wanted to take a day to visit the falls. Upon research, I found this company that could help us get to NYC and back, and do a full tour in one day. Dawn was the person who scheduled our tour and helped me with flights. It was great that I didn't have to research flights myself. She just told me what airlines and which flights to book. (I recommend booking early so that it's not too pricey!) Dawn was so patient with me because I had many questions big and small, including should I bring a change of clothes and what kind of shoes should I wear (water shoes by the way is the best option for Maid of the Mist and Cave of the Winds). I told her I wasn't sure if I should spend more for the private tour or if I should stick with the big group tours. She carefully listed the difference between the tours and did NOT try to persuade me one way or the other. We decided on the private tour because Dawn was able to book us a reservation plus I liked the idea of having an SUV to leave our stuff in so we didn't have to drag all of our stuff with us. It was also the better way to see both the American and Canada side since we only had the day. So the day of the tour comes. We arrive to the airport in NYC and our flight was delayed BY THREE HOURS. We were going to miss HALF of our tour if we came back to NYC on the same day. I called Over the Falls immediately and they made me feel calm right away and I asked if we kept our returning flight the same, what would we miss? They were honest and said we'd only be able to see the American side but would not make it to Canada. They said if I could, to book a later flight or stay for one night. I then called the airlines (Jet Blue) and asked to rebook our returning flight for the following day. Luckily, I was able to do that so our plan totally changed because we ended up sleeping over instead of staying for just the day. Over The Falls support line was AWESOME. They helped me book a hotel room last minute with options for king bed or two queens, etc. I didn't have to call hotel or book online myself. They asked if they could give them my card on file and I said yes. Super easy. Also thankfully because Dawn had recommended bringing a change of clothes in case we got wet, we happened to have extra clothes! Amazing. The team including Dawn (who changed our lunch reservation to a dinner reservation) then re-adjusted our day plans since we had shifted times! They did it quickly and without involving me which made it so much less stressful. When we finally landed in Buffalo, NY, three hours later than we were supposed to, our wonderful tour guide, Neva, greeted us with a huge smile and positive energy. She apologized for our delay and made us feel so welcome. We got in the SUV and our tour started then and there. She gave us history while on the drive and got to know us while telling us about herself. She took us through Maid of the Mist and Cave of the Winds, and she knew all the ways to get us in asap and quickly out so that was VERY helpful. All the tips and tricks made our day better because we weren't stuck in long lines with the bigger groups, and we had an expert on our side. Neva was so amazing because she even took pictures of us while we were on Maid of the Mist boat and she was watching from afar, and when we were on the Cave of the Winds path. She kept flagging us to take pictures of us. It was so nice having her take pictures of our memories! She texted them to us right before we parted ways at the end. Then she took us across the Canada border and what was so cool was that the main entry (rainbow bridge) was packed with traffic so she was able to call dispatch and they led her to a less congested entry. We saved time there for sure. I mentioned to Neva that I wanted to buy maple candy and on the way to the Skylon tower, she brought us to a giant store with maple syrup, cookies, candy, etc. plus souvenirs! I was so happy because it wasn't part of our agenda but she made it a stop because I told her I wanted maple stuff. You will also notice touring with Neva that she is friends with EVERYONE. Everywhere we went, someone knew her and she would banter back and forth and make everyone laugh. She also made us laugh the whole time. After the Skylon tower in Canada, we went back across and she brought us to our dinner reservation. I wish she ate with us but she said it was just for us. Then she took us to our hotel and answered our questions. I asked her where we would go for the 10pm fireworks and where to go if we wanted to walk across the border. She drove us to each place so we wouldn't get lost when we did it on our own! Neva was so kind, funny, helpful and just a JOY to be around. Please REQUEST for Neva when you book your private tour. So much fun!! You will get wet so dress accordingly. They give you non slip water shoes to wear during the tour so you don't get your own shoes wet, would highly recommend using them. You get to keep them too! Lots of stairs to climb if you go the entire loop, but you could take someone who wouldnt be able to walk the stairs who could just stand at the bottom and still enjoy the view while you make the loop. Don't leave gramma and grandpa behind, they could still walk out on to the first level. Tickets were affordable at $18/person. read more

Best first experience to Niagara Falls ever! Dayna was amazing on our "private tour" of 2, would highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Canada. We decided to do this tour early December: our guide took us to the skylon tour, journey behind the falls, and visited table rock where the the pictures were so surreal. The falls are a sight to see, and you'll have plenty of photo ops of course! Be prepared with some warm clothes such as gloves and waterproof jackets because the wind and mist will get you,most definitely. We also had the chance to squeeze in lunch at The Hungry Moose (poutine meal is a must) here! Our guide (Dayna) made sure we were safe, happy, and having a good time throughout whole tour and we are so appreciative of her hospitality! Tour includes many views of the Falls throughout the 5-6 hr tour. Plan for a full day tour. It is a more local view and not just the touristy spots. Ideal if you stay in town so you can go back to your favorite spot the following day and are not rushed. The Maid of the Mist is certainly the highlight because you get very close, but it is only 30-45 mins. However, what really makes this tour unique is the many different views you get of the Falls. Which leads me to Tom. He was a very knowledgeable guide. He took us to great places for spotting the Falls and Lakes that were not crowded. He has interesting bits of info from the various locations we stopped by. He is a Buffalo native and has a ton of knowledge and funny stories to entertain you. Our family of 4 was joined by 3 senior couples and two other families w younger kids. With such a diverse group, Tom did a nice job to appeal to everyone and take care of special requests. He was very careful of time and gave us enough on each stop to absorb the views, take our pix. The tour includes going up the Maid of the Mist, Skylon tower, stop for lunch and probably 3-4 other stops. CARRY your passport and bring some snacks and water in case the border crossing is longer than usual. Note: the tour guides have no influence on border crossing times, so pls give them a break if the crossing is taking longer than usual. read more
