This was a great experience from start to finish. Everything was well organized, the staff was friendly, and the views were absolutely incredible. Being that close to the falls really makes you appreciate how powerful and beautiful they are. If you're visiting Niagara Falls, this is definitely an experience worth doing. I'm glad I did it and would recommend it to anyone looking for a fun and memorable way to see the falls.

This excursion was a surprise I got for my guys when they went to Niagara Falls. I didn't even tell them about it until the night before, while they were at the hotel. I will admit I have never been out of the country, and Yelping was a little rougher for me when it came to restaurants. I just didn't know distances from the hotel to where I was looking for things to do. So, I left food to them. I had fun finding activities for them, and this boat ride ended up being another success on my scoreboard. You do have to schedule a time, but they ended up not checking the time, they just scanned the tickets I forwarded to my husband's email. Easy enough. So, FYI, the Canadian boat typically has more people on the cruise than the U.S. side. It was packed! Not sure how I would have like that, but those things don't bother them like they do me. They will get you very close to the falls, and you will get pretty wet, but they do give you a poncho before you leave on the cruise. The cruise was about 20 minutes for $42 Canadian dollars. It was definitely something they would do again. It was really easy for me to book. 9/24/25

You simply can't visit Niagara Falls, Canada, without experiencing the iconic boat tour -- it's a must-do for a reason! We had done the Maid of the Mist about five years ago, so this time we decided to try the Voyage to the Falls. Since it was late September, we didn't expect much of a crowd and chose not to book in advance. Getting tickets was super easy -- there are plenty of options: scan a QR code on-site, use the self-serve kiosk, buy online, or head to the ticket booth. Initially, the boat rides were branded as 'Hornblower Niagara Cruises.' In recent years, they rebranded to the current name of Niagara City Cruises. Niagara City Cruises, by Hornblower, offer close-up tours to the base of all three falls. Cruises run all day and into the evening, when the falls are lit. The Voyage to the Falls Boat Tour is the most popular and classic falls experience--a 20-minute boat ride that takes you up close to the Horseshoe Falls during the daytime. This is a wet experience, and rain jackets are provided. Since the Maid of the Mist stopped operating out of Canada, this is the only boat tour option from the Canadian side that takes visitors to the base of the falls. They have 30 30-year of contract ending in 2042. Niagara City Cruises provides a free poncho that covers the upper half of your body, apart from your face and forearms. Your legs (from the knee down) and feet will get wet Parking: One of the closest parking lots to Niagara City Cruises is the Clifton Hill Parking Lot (4960 Clifton Hill, Niagara Falls)--roughly a 9-minute walk away. There is also a parking lot at the Skylon Tower (approximately a 12-minute walk from Niagara City Cruises). Fee: The Voyage to the Falls Boat Tour costs $38 CAD for adults (13+), and $23.50 CAD for children (3 - 12).

Even with the long bus ride, this was so worth it. The boat ride itself is maybe 25-30 minutes, and they give you a big red poncho that fits over you and your backpack... and yep, you'll still get wet. Seeing both the American Falls and the Horseshoe Falls from that close? Absolutely unreal. We were all just standing there in awe. Afterwards, we explored the super touristy town nearby it's like a carnival meets boardwalk with mini golf and restaurants everywhere. Totally a 10/10 day trip.

Pretty seamless process and a great experience being able to seeing the falls up close. We were on the Canada side and so we're taken into the Canadian Falls after seeing the American side and l hearing the history of both. We got there early for the 9:30am departure on Saturday and good thing we did because by the time we came back to dock, another boat was leaving and the pier/dock was filled with people waiting the board one of the boats. They clearly have a well oiled machine and process so people aren't waiting too long. Highly recommend using them and purchasing tickets for the tour on the Canada side.

Experiencing the powerful Niagara Falls is an amazing experience! This company has regular boats that takes you close to the falls with overhead speakers giving out information and interesting facts about the falls, and the geography. Their staff are all friendly, and the tours start and end on time so there isn't a long waiting time to board the boat. The tour takes approximately 20 minute: make sure to stay on the top level of the boat for the best experience! You will be given a poncho but the wind and just the raw power of the water coming down will drench your face, arms and shoes (anything not covered by the poncho) so bring a change of socks, shoes and clothes.

A must try experience! You will get wet so wear sandals if you don't want to walk around in wet shoes all day but they do give you a poncho. It's something stand on a boat in the middle of Niagara Falls that's it breath taking!

This was the one activity everyone in my family had at the top of their list for our time in Niagara Falls. We had a great time experiencing the powerful falls from such a close vantage point. The process was very straightforward, we decided to purchase our tickets at the venue when we arrived instead of ahead of time online, because we were sightseeing and weren't sure what time we might arrive and didn't want to miss our boat. There are two ways to get tickets onsite, from the self serve kiosks to the left or from this staffed ticket booth on the right. The lines moved quickly for both and we with tickets in had, we were on our way. There's a short walk down a ramp to reach the elevators that bring you down to the water level and then a short walk from there to the dock. The walkways were wet and had some slippery areas, so we were careful and steady with our steps. Before lining up on the dock, they handed us our red ponchos, which we put on while waiting to board the boat. Onboarding was quick and orderly and there were great views on both sides of the boat. As the boat launches, there a recording that shares interesting facts and information about the falls that explains what you're seeing and experiencing. This was the most fun and exciting activity we did during our time in Niagara Falls and should be part of everyone's exploration of the falls. And yes, even with the ponchos we got wet, which we didn't mind at all

We had a blast on the Niagara City Cruise Horn Blower ship...many cal it the Maid of the Mist, but that's on the American side. This 20 minute cruise takes you up close and personal with the falls, I'd guess within 100 yards of the actual falls, it's a great way to experience the full force of this magnificent waterfall. The ship rides right up to the base of the horseshoe falls, and hovers there for about 10 minutes, giving everyone on board a good shower They give you ponchos when boarding which you'll be glad you had, but it won't fully protect you. There are enclosed areas on the ship to view from if you don't want to get wet, but what's the fun of that? My best recommendation is to go on a hot summer day, it will very refreshing, and you'll be glad you went

Who came Sunday afternoon in May. I enjoyed coming this time of the year because one it was not too hot or humid too. There were not that many people. We purchased our ticket upon arrival at the ticket box we walked right through and we're on our boat within 20 minutes I like this experience because they offered bathroom locations to use they give you the poncho to cover yourself with while you're on the boat A few things to keep in mind, you will get wet, your sweaters, your long sleeves, your sleeves will get soaking wet Your shoes in your pants will get wet It was a great experience overall we had three people it cost $160 would definitely go again

Wonderful experience. Bring water resistant pants and shoes for a drier experience. Pro tip: stand on the left side or front and you'll get more time at the falls, the boat speeds back to dock

The only reason to go to this area is for the actual Falls, and probably the best way to do it is via one of these cruise companies. I came here with my cousins last weekend, one of whom has always wanted to go here and did the honors of booking the actual cruise. I will say this - the actual town or city of Niagara Falls is terrible. I would never come back. It's super trashy and crowded, and the experience of walking from the parking area ($40!) to the cruise terminal was a massive low point of my vacation. I can't imagine the US side is this gross, so if for some reason I WERE forced to return, it would be from there even though I think the natural view of the falls is better on the Canada side. That's how bad it is. Good luck to everyone. The biggest selling point by far of this place is how efficient and quick it is. TONS of people utilize this company to get out to the Falls, so I was pretty apprehensive after walking through the horde of people only to find another long line to even take the elevator/tram down to the boat. They kept it moving and we waited maybe five or 10 minutes total to actually board, which is pretty astonishing when you consider how many other visitors were there - literally hundreds. Honestly, I kept thinking about that Mussolini quote (which I don't think he actually said) with the trains running on time. It's a very well-run operation even if you DO end up feeling like cattle in a stockyard. The cruise terminal (if that's the right word - this wasn't remotely akin to, say, Norwegian Epic or anything) was easy to spot and predictably located right next to the river and to the northwest of the Falls. We easily found the line for pre-purchased tickets and were quickly moved into a tram/elevator down the side of the cliff to the shoreline. That deposits you very close to the actual disembarkation point, though we wisely chose to take a quick bathroom break and walk through a touristy area with food court items (I saw a lot of chicken fingers) and a musical act in the background. The only wait involved the five or so minutes for the prior group to get off the boat before we were shuttled on for our journey down the river, which was unquestionably awesome - it takes you very close to the Falls and thankfully includes a handy reusable poncho so you don't get too damp from the mist/spray. The whole journey probably took 20 minutes or so, which was just enough time in my view, before you leave and another group quickly takes your place. If you have the ability - and most should - just get as close to a railing as you can, regardless of the side of the boat you happen to be on; believe me, you're going to end up with a nice view at some point. The only downside is you lose some of the hospitality bed manner in the constant shuffle of human beings. We encountered a pretty unpleasant employee doling out ponchos who barked at us because my cousin wasted .2 seconds to...hand me a poncho. You're not likely to establish too many warm connections with the staff, but that's quite arguably the price you're paying for getting in and out so quickly. It looked like the US side has a competing or sister company with the same concept, just blue ponchos instead of red. That would be my vote since if you're going to end up literally right in front of the Falls anyway on a boat, you can skip the creepy Vegas town hosted by our Canadian counterparts. Cool ride down the river though.

This is a very unique experience! Always wanted to visit here in person. It's no other place in the world with a waterfall this big that you can ride under. There's two sides, the American side, and the Canadian side. The American side is slighter higher but less wide. The Canadian side is shorter but twice the width. I went on the Canadian side. By the time you get up in the midst, you are soaking wet. They gave us ponchos but that didn't help much. But it would of been much worse without it. The water is very loud. Reminds me of the voice of many waters in the book of Revelation God will have when He speaks. And they park the boat right under the water. Like at one point you can't even see anything. It's a cloud of mist. Overall it was very fun. I laughed the whole time. So glad I finally got to see it. This was an humbling experience to see the creativity of God.

Great experience with the cruise! You get up close and personal to the Falls. Everything was very smooth and totally worth the price.
