The theater has a small parking lot that one has to pay to park, a shop, eatery & bar area, and an ice cream cart. The seating arrangement is nice in the theater. The staff are friendly and helpful. The production was excellent, close to the movie. The sets and costumes are pretty nice. The acting and voices of the cast are superb. A truly enjoyable experience.

What a hidden gem! I saw a sign for an Art Centre and naturally, I had to investigate! In an old…read morepumphouse, with a lighthouse on the property- you will find a quaint little art centre, gallery and studio space for classes. They are currently looking for a pottery instructor too! The gallery space was phenomenal, No pictures are allowed of the artwork, so my only photos are outside, but the space just is wonderful. The first room featured one artist- abstract paintings with vivid colors that really spoke to me and had me wanting to come home and paint! I have a huge canvas hanging in my bedroom that I spent 3 months creating, abstract- some of it was literally me finger painting, lol. But it felt the same as this body of work- playful, open to interpretation. I saw windows, faces, mindscapes. John said they had great texture and he said he easily could see my own work in a similar fashion. The second larger room doubled as a classroom/studio with plenty of storage and countertops, open flooring to set up tables for projects. I can only imagine they also use the yard outside for space- especially on a gorgeous day like when we were there. Situated right on the mouth of the Niagra River- there are stunning views with wonderful breezes off the water. All of the art is for sale, so support a wonderful artist! You can also make a donation directly to the centre- which we did! Love me some art ;)

Every two years, my family on my mum's side gets together for a family reunion. The requirements include good food, history, outdoor friendly and lots of arts. The Shaw Festival in Niagara-on-the-Lake encompasses the "lots of arts" portion while NOTL has all the rest! Two years ago we visited Charleston for the Spoleto Festival, and I thought it would be hard to beat that; but the Shaw Festival definitely put up a fight! The Shaw Festival is one of the largest theatre festivals in North America. It started as a tribute to George Bernard Shaw but has become much more. It is truly professional theatre at its best. While its season features multiple Shaw plays, it also offers Shaw contemporaries the stage as well. With four distinct theatres (each very walkable and located in the heart of NOTL), where every seat is a good one, and an unmatched cultural atmosphere. The Shaw productions highlight music, acting, choreography and costumes and are well worth a day, or a few days, in Niagara-on-the-Lake. The Shaw Festival takes place from April to November, with about ten rotating performances. So, no matter when you visit, you are almost always guaranteed the possibility to see a production. The performances are truly spectacular, as are the theaters, I think the Shaw Festival Theatre might steal the cake though! Unlike the Spoleto Festival, The Shaw Festival is all about the performances, they don't have any artist in the park events or art walks, it's all about the PERFORMING arts (although they do have some "behind the stage" events), which are incredibly, so they really don't need anything else. However, for you visual arts fans, NOTL is home to many art galleries. If you are making a visit to NOTL, definitely take the time to book at show with the Shaw Festival. They even reward their younger fans by offering $30 tickets for people under 30. Also, check out their website for not only details about shows, but education and information on Niagara-on-the-Lake as a whole!

They offer lots of services and classes like Chinese, STEAM, gifted programs, speech improvement, and plenty of opportunities for learning outside of the classroom. Highly recommended!
