One of our favorites on the Niagara wine trail! They have wine for all tastes and it is really delicious. If you are looking for food they also serve small plates. I had never been in the winter before, and was pleased to try the mulled wine. They had 2 flavors and the one I got was delicious! We bought a bottle of their sparkling Riesling to enjoy at home. So nice! We came at 12:30 on a Saturday. The staff were so knowledgeable and kind. Highly recommend trying the bourbon Chardonnay and the diamond! Our flight from top to bottom was the Cabernet, Pinot Noir, bourbon Chardonnay, dry resiling, and diamond. All were amazing! I was telling the lady how different the bourbon Chardonnay was and she even offered me to try it cold and it was so cool to experience the different taste compared to room temperature. Came back today for a tasting and had a great experience. Masks are no longer required. There's plenty of seating both inside and outside. Tastings are $9 and include 5 good size pours of wine. Good selection of dry wines and sweet wines. There are also beer tasting flights as well. Service was great too. We also really appreciate that they offer wine bottle recycling here, and brought back a few bottles since our town recycling program no longer accepts colored glass. I've been taking visitors to the Niagara Escarpment wineries for years, but this was my first time visiting Bella Rose and it has now earned a permanent place on my tour route for my future guests. I loved the glass trees you use to transport your five selections to a table where you can take your time and enjoy your tastings. The tasting room Is spacious with plenty of tables and there is covered outdoor seating available. There was live entertainment outside on the day of our visit. The staff was friendly and informative. They offered tastings of flights of beers as well as wines. My one criticism is to find a better way to handle the dirty glasses rather to accumulate them on the valuable bar space. read more

One of the pricier tastings, $8.50 for 5, but the pours are generous and the wines taste great. I tried the pinot noir, dry riesling, Isabella, bubbles, and catawba. The Isabella was probably my favorite, but I came home with a bottle of the sure-to-please catawba. All the wines I tried taste great. We just love wines from the tangy catawba grape most of all, especially for BBQ season, which is almost upon us. The Isabella is a blend that includes the Niagara grape, which I don't like alone, but works well in blends. Sophisticated with a touch of sweetness. The winery is bright and airy. Service is good. When you think you went to all the niagara County wineries always do another search. We found Bella and when we asked the owner they have been open about 2 years.with covid it is a little different but the wines were really good. You can choose a flight of 5, a glass or a bottle. Since this was our first time we chose to share a flight of wine. They give you your wine on a wine carrier and you choose a table to sit and enjoy. Then we ended up getting a glass of wine to enjoy. It was still cold out but they also have a patio to enjoy the nice weather. They also have beer. You can purchase a glass to taste. The owner is working on getting tasting for the beers. Of course you can purchase wine and beer. Of course we bought some wine to stock up. Great wines and friendly owner. read more

We took a Niagara USA Wine Trail tour and visited 4 NY wineries. This was our first stop and they do it right. Beautiful location, building, good service, lots of wine for about $8.50. Lots of sweet wines, but we enjoyed the Ridge Red and ordered a full glass of that. They can accommodate larger groups, not sure if they take busses or limos (many do not). If you are visiting the falls this winery is near by, they also have a tasting room within walking distance of the falls if you do not have a car. Enjoy, Cheers! read more

The winery had a wonderful deck overlooking the vineyard and with the colorful fall leaves and sunny skies it made for a perfect day to taste wine. My husband and I drink different types of wine and there was a great selection of both of our tastes. We both ordered our preferred wine flights and enjoyed the charcuterie board too. This was my first visit 5/1/21, though family members have been to Bella Rose. Had a nice flight of 5 wines, 3 reds and 2 whites, including one that had just been bottled the night before. I especially liked the Big Red and would order that again. We also had a flight of beer. In the wine and beer flights you select from their menu, those you want to try. In addition, we snacked on a pkg of the chocolate drizzled popped corn which was so very fresh, we went through another one. We sat outside on the covered patio for awhile but the breeze made it a bit too cool to linger despite the nice view. So we went indoors and remained awhile longer. Before leaving we also got a bottle of wine and some beer. While we were there a few groups including a yoga group and a couple of limos, one of which was a bachelorette party. Sure was fun to see. They host groups and private parties. Mike Schweitzer, who opened Bella Rose last year with his wife Colleen, came to our table to talk with us. Always a nice touch! Learned that the business is doing so well, it will be expanding in coming months to the Sheraton Hotel in the Falls. Wish them much luck, as they have some nice products, wine club and certainly interact with their customers. This is a great new business opened by locals. If the owner sees this, when we were here in the winter we talked about how our grapes didn't produce last year. We got there early with a bus of 18, had a reservation that they failed to document which seems to be a problem for them considering other reviews have stated the same). They won't take a bus of 18 but if 18 people pulled up separately they wouldnt have an issue (according to the ONE girl working that Sunday). Owner accused us of bringing outside alcohol but don't know how that's possible since they wouldn't even open the doors to us. Owner also accused us of "unacceptable behavior" when we were all sober and just ready to give them money ‍ The ONE girl working was rude before we even said anything to her and she arrived AT 12 to OPEN at twelve? I've worked in service and don't know how she wasn't there sooner to actually open. Also not sure how the owner called our limo service to complain when our limo driver was just as upset at the denial of service. read more

If you are looking for a winery experience, I wouldn't recommend Bella Rose. If you want to drink wine on a patio (something you can do at any restaurant), this would be a good fit for you. The wine here was great & service inside the winery was fantastic. There is seating available on the patio, and a variety of picnic benches next to the vineyards themselves. After enjoying a few tastings, my group and I headed down to the benches to take a photo in front of the vineyards. An employee came out of the winery yelling at us for walking down to the area (there was nothing roped off, no signs, no chains, nothing that indicates the area isn't open to the public-not to mention the 15 benches next to the area). We apologized for the misunderstanding and immediately headed back to the patio. He continued to follow us closely, accusing us of touching the grapes and scolding us as we attempted to leave the winery. It was a simple misunderstanding due to a variety of factors indicating the area was open to the public, but we were made to feel embarrassed, unwelcome, and uncomfortable to the point where we left immediately, and I would not return. read more

Alright this winery needs constructive criticism. A winery is 50/50 split. 50% wine, 50% ambience. Cabernet was good which is why it's not a one star. Parking lot is atrocious. Weeds everywhere. Grape fields are Disappointing (fake). Seating outside but can't sit in the sun. Benches everywhere but you can't sit at those benches. A simple red tape or an instruction before buying the wine flights would have been better than being yelled at. There are certainly better options. read more
