Igor Babich is a masterful performer and extraordinarily talented teacher. Four years ago I began taking saxophone lessons from Igor. I had no theory experience and a more than basic understanding of music literacy. Over the years, Igor has provided opportunities to perform with him at various venues including café's and special faith-based celebrations. He focuses on technique, pitch, rhythm and quality of tone. He is a stickler for perfection and this quality is appreciated by all his students. His help with the arrangements of solo pieces for special occasions has also been an added bonus. Igor has a studio where students are able to record their pieces and hear exactly how they sound and where they need to improve. If you are a beginner, intermediate or advanced musician, I strongly encourage getting that added musical boost from Igor Babich. read more

We feel so blessed to have found Igor! Our daughter is currently taking weekly sax lessons. He is not only a master at his craft, but also a patient and effective teacher to our 13-year-old girl. Igor helped to prepare her for a sax audition at a coveted, competitive York Region high school (instrumental program). Under his exemplary instruction, she learned so much in such a short period of time. Our daughter was accepted into the Arts program and we know Igor was instrumental in this process. Igor is a dedicated and enthusiastic musician by nature and these are the qualities for the best teachers available!! For the past year my son Chris has been privileged to be taught by him and the result has been phenomenal - the consistent progress in my son's flute abilities has impressed us. Professional saxophone/flute instructor with more than 20 years of teaching and performing experience offers Saxophone & Flute lessons online and in-person at his home studio based in Niagara Falls. He has students of all ages and abilities from all over Canada and US. Some of his ex students has achieved their musical goals, whether that involves a successful performance, joining a community band, or being accepted to the music program at the collage or university.

History

Established in 2004.

The studio is operated by professional saxophone/flute player/instructor Igor Babich. Igor was born in Vitebsk (Belarus). He started on his first instrument, the piano, when he was five. Had a chance to go to Children's Music School for several years. He picked up flute at the age of fifteen. At the same time Igor attended Vitebsk Music Collage. At the age of nineteen, he moved to Minsk, where continued his education at the Belarusian State Academy of Music. Igor switched to saxophone when he served in army. He has diplomas of Vitebsk Music Collage and a Bachelor of Music degree from Belarusian State Academy of Music in Minsk, where he studied the flute and saxophone. Before going freelance, he spent over 20 years playing with a variety of professional jazz, Latin and pop bands. Igor moved to Canada in 2004. At the same year he opened his own Saxophone & Flute Studio which is successfully run till this day.
