Their movers (the owner and his son) arrived on time and came fully prepared with furniture pads and the necessary tools to transport all my furniture (even being prepared and easily able to transport an oversized couch down over an exterior balcony when it would not fit through the stairs)! They were courteous and clearly experienced and took time to ensure none of my belongings were damaged during the move and that they were securely packed in their truck for transport. For some of my items that needed to be placed into storage, they helped me organize everything "Tetris" style to the point where I was able to use a smaller storage unit than originally expected. The savings from using a smaller unit alone will likely pay for the entire cost of using movers over the next few months! All in all, I was extremely impressed with my experience with B&F and look forward to using them for my next move (whenever that may be).

As a non-smoker, non-drinker, I remember those decades, and what a music store meant for musicians. I became good friends with Al, the father and original owner of Thorold Music. It's not the same today, technology and the economy taking society away from live bands, but I see Thorold Music as finding a nice balance to keep the love alive, enough to make me leave my home town of Welland to make it there. I also respect Leo, one of Als' sons who manages the store, as a keyboard player, and every employee there has shown a mature and talented ability on guitar. I wouldn't necessarily say "Woohoo! As good as it gets!", because when I'm not there the light of Jimi Hendrix, who I saw in Toronto, doesn't shine as bright... and... sometimes it takes a lefty to show you the left-handed world. It has taken me much to long to get this review done! Had Carl come to look at a 1926 player piano…read morethat we inherited. Not good news! It was badly out of tune because of a major issue with the straps that control all the hammers for the 88 keys had rotted and fallen off! There was also a crack 8n 5he sound board. The major components of the player part were in really good condition. We decided that the piano held many cherished family memories and proceeded with the repairs. It took several long 8 hour sessions along with our assistance for the job to be completed. The entire piano was taken apart to access the hammers and sound board. We left plenty of time between sessions for us to refinish all the wood while it was apart. We could not be happier with the finished results! It sounds awesome thanks to Carl and looks good too after all our hard work refinishing along with tips from Carl. He has been back twice to tune and we will hav3 him back yearly to keep the piano in shape. I highly recommend Carl for tuning, repairs and he also gives music lessons. Not only does he provide awesome service but he is a very remarkable person!

The staff is extremely accommodating, matching the student with the most suitable instructor. They will ask if you're serious about formal training, or would rather take a more casual approach. They will also work with you to accommodate your scheduling needs. The current rate is $16 per half hour, which is very reasonable. Payment is due at each lesson. If you have to cancel and can give at least 24 hours, you won't be charged, and you'll be offered a makeup date if you'd like one. The joint is always jumping - there will likely be at least a dozen students across two floors. It can get cacophonous in the waiting room, but the energy level is inspiring. I might just take up some lessons for myself.
