The lake views with the sunsets were simply breathtaking! They're conveniently located near wineries, restaurants, ice cream shops, groceries everything you will ever need for your vacation! They're approximately located about 22mins to Niagara Falls and about one hour forty five minutes to the Pearson airport. Myself and a group of friends stayed here on the way to a wedding and really enjoyed it…read more The property consists of two double bedrooms, a twin room, large kitchen, dining room, sitting room and charming outdoor sitting area with barbecue. There is also a large laundry and iron, which is really handy for arranging all the wedding attire. When we arrived we were greeted by Tony the owner. Tony was really welcoming and extremely helpful, talking us through the house instruction book and explaining all the good activities we could do. We were told to call if we needed anything, but after that we were left alone to enjoy or stay. The cottage has a really homely feel. The beds were comfortable and the air con was a godsend in the summer heat. Another great point was it's located a stones throw from the main street down a quite side street. The price is really reasonable too. If you ever visit the lovely Niagara On The Lake, be sure to book here, you won't be disappointed.

He's pretty mean overall, and emits a foul & unpleasant odor (doesn't shower). He kept our security deposit, and his reason was "f---gs don't get their security deposits back". I'm not even joking. Also, its advertised as 2 baths when its only 1. Merle is a scam artist - and I hear this from a lot people around town who know him - he really has a bad reputation for being belligerent, a bad business man, fowl odor, and overall rudeness & bigotry. On the other hand - Helina his wife is a sweetheart. She knows how Merle is, and warned us about him upon check in. She said "I hate that man". She was nice to us, but still was unable to get us our security deposit back. I hope Merle doesn't punish her in any way for her kindness & sincerity toward us. Merle has a fake fire exit that is blocked off. His rental houses are not nice at all, old and creaky, and they smell weird (like Merle).

I wanted to cry as we pulled out of the driveway to leave. We arrived earlier than check-in time and Vio, the owner was so nice to let us do so, though she was still cleaning. We enjoyed her company and her son Robert's. We only booked 4 days as we were coming back from a week in Toronto where husband had business, but now I wish we had stayed a few days more. The cottage has been lovingly decorated with antiques, beds are top quality pillow tops, and the place looks like a professional decorator lives here. Loved the pretty colors. We were there during a major heat wave and the A.C. units did a pretty good job keeping the place comfortable. The back bedroom was a bit warm one night, but we managed. The front porch is a pretty, quiet spot with a very comfy chair for lounging and watching boats go by. We enjoyed using the free WIFI to send emails from the porch as well as the nice backyard, equipped with BBQ, pond, table, chairs & umbrella. Only an 8 min. walk to town center, near great restaurants (Fournous, Stone Road Grille & Lawrenceville Restaurant in Virgil) We got groceries at Valu-Mart in town and enjoyed cooking in Vio & Tibi's big, beautiful, well-equipped kitchen that opened up into pretty living room. We ate mostly at the kitchen island because we didn't want to dirty the dining room tablecloth, though in the end, my son somehow managed to do so (sorry Vio). I hope we made up for it by doing the towels and stripping beds and starting sheets. It was the least we could do as no cleaning fee charged. We felt price per night was right on target, especially since we could not have afforded more. We hope to return next May or June when cooler, with my mother-in-law as well. Trust me lucky renters, if you have a large or small family, a dog, a need for free WIFI, comfortable luxurious surroundings, two bathrooms and more than one T.V. this is the cottage you MUST rent! There were six of us...four grandparents, two parents, and two very active boys ages three and five. The house has a large kitchen open to a huge dining room where we spent most of our time when we weren't in the pool. Everything was clean and the house as a whole was well kept. Lots of room for the boys to plays and for the adults to talk. Also a great living room with enough seating and a great fireplace. Downtown was too far to walk with the boys, but we were able to drive and park downtown with no problem. We really loved our stay and will return if we have a chance. Highly recommended!. I'm giving it four stars because there are only spots for two cars and we had three. Additional parking was some distance away so we had to shuffle around a bit. Also, though minor, some of the floor transitions between rooms, particularly between the dining room and the living room were not well finished and were a slight tripping hazard for the boys. Minor issues really for a really nice vacation spot.
