The owner's daughter was very cordial. The room was $89.95, $10 discount if you paid cash, we paid $79.95 after tax, which we thought wasn't too bad for May. We would like to return for a leisure visit sometime.

Yes, you're in a wilderness area, so you'll see a bug or two. Wally put together a fire. This isn't one of those hotels that's next to a denny's and sbarro (thank goodness) so Chris recommended some small businesses in town to order from (mac's in ransomville I think, it was good! Filling) The beds were fine, but the view across the way over Lake Ontario was incredible. Highly recommend sunrises and sunsets They also went the extra mile for some recommendations and accommodations for our large touring group. They had reasonable rules for keeping a restful space for all but weren't uptight. And the grounds are so large you can socialize later at night without hearing others. We were in the small cozy cabin. Everything we would need was available. Our host Carol was wonderful. She came over once we arrived. Being able to enter the cottage on our own was nice. Security code is given once reservation is confirmed. Carol made sure we were warm enough and offered extra blankets just in case. We were nice and cozy with our complimentary bottle of wine and treats. We will definitely return next Christmas if not sooner.

There is also a large laundry and iron, which is really handy for arranging all the wedding attire. When we arrived we were greeted by Tony the owner. Tony was really welcoming and extremely helpful, talking us through the house instruction book and explaining all the good activities we could do. We were told to call if we needed anything, but after that we were left alone to enjoy or stay. The cottage has a really homely feel. The beds were comfortable and the air con was a godsend in the summer heat. Another great point was it's located a stones throw from the main street down a quite side street. The price is really reasonable too. If you ever visit the lovely Niagara On The Lake, be sure to book here, you won't be disappointed.

There was evidence of this around the septic tubes and we had to pull our dogs away from these every time we walked them. Even though the septic overflowed on Saturday, they did not have anyone come to pump it out and on a later day in the week they hosted a high school prom, thus overtaxing the septic again. (Yes, there was a school prom the end of June due to bad winter in the area, the kids are still in school.) We wound up leaving a day early as we were just sick of it. My husband emptied our tank into the septic and said the waste was within 1 inch of the top of the pipe, meaning 1 flush and likely it would overflow yet again. The pool was closed the entire time we were there but 2 girls that had a key to the pool (I'm guessing employees or family) were allowed to swim. The bathhouse near the pool was also closed our entire stay. The restaurant they claim to have was closed. The mini golf course appeared abandoned. No gym, no fitness area, no pool tables, nothing. Only amenity was a small playground and 1 basketball court with broken baskets. Nice view of the lake but you mostly have to stand at the fence to see it as the weeds on the other side of the fence are really high. The only other bath house always had a wet and sticky floor and there were plenty of spiders and wasps in there with you. Also the rv sites are barely wider than your rv with the canopy out. They lied to my husband and told him that the local car rental place drops cars off there "all the time". We had to pay $50 to uber to pick up, and another $50 to drop off, the car. They said they "never" go that far. There are no amenities in the nearby area either. It definitely looks like their main goal is weddings and events. Someone came to park in the spot next to us and were having trouble figuring out where to park and the owner came over, yelled at my husband for hooking into the wrong water and septic hookups (nothing marked & he used the closest) and then tried to get the guy to back in directly next to us and he would have been so close he could barely get his door open. Extremely disappointed in this campground as it was the first trip we took our granddaughter on and there was nothing for her to do.

The campground is peaceful and quiet, and my favorite spot to go was the little outdoor chapel in the evening during the sunset. I would definitely recommend this place for a family or even for a solo traveler. Some improvements would be the path down to the water. It was very full of weeds and I was a little nervous about getting a tick due to the path being not cleared. Also, I had some issues with the food that my stomach just didn't agree with, specifically with the taco night. Everything else about the campground was pleasant, calm, and very relaxing. I would still recommend it to anyone wanting to get away for a little bit from the craziness of life.

We never knew we need authorized to park at public washroom! Moreover, it's a resort and all vehicles went through security gate before entering into the resort. Isn't that Authorized ?! When we questioned about the infraction ticket, the receptionist brought our concern to head of security and she came back saying the head of security - Rob McDonald reduced the amount to $25. We asked why at first place we received the fined because we did not park at the owners driveway or roadside parking. There has no sign stating "Unauthorized vehicle will be fined" Or "No Parking" Or "Maximum 20 mins for parking" Or even "No overnight parking" whatsoever. We were told Rob had left. We told the receptionist we want to speak to him in person to get a clear picture what exactly we did wrong. We were told to come back next day. We went back to office 4 times in total during our 4 nights stay and Rob McDonald refused to see us as well as give us a valid explanation what exactly "Unauthorized Parking" means that he was charging us for. The unjustified reason given is not up to normal standard. On our last talked to another receptionist, she said we cannot park if there is sign saying "No Parking" or "Cart Only". We went back to the public washroom and took a video wanted to show Rob that there has no such sign(s) at all. Again, Rob is busy and the receptionist gave us his email address asking us to email him to schedule a time to meet to discuss our concern. We sent him email the same day around noon time and we have not heard from Rob McDonald even after we checkout two days later. The management is absolutely disrespectful and unprofessional like many other customers experienced. You cannot charge customers on something you cannot justify! To us, it shows they are so desperate to charge anything out of vacationers! We are new to the resort. In the welcome booklet, it says "Re-Book and get 20% off". We were excited and thinking of booking again (by extending few more days) until this incident happened. Until today (over a month), no email from Rob telling us what does it meant by "Unauthorized Parking" at the public washroom parking. Upon searching on the web, we realized we are not the first one who have been charged for parking at public area. We saw the management replies stating "We do not permit parking on the beach (for environmental care) or along the road (to avoid traffic congestion). Guests should park only in the marked lots."... What exactly does it mean? We did not see any "Marked lots" stating for CAR only ... we did see "RV Parking" and "Cart Only" ... It's reasonable to think the rest of the "parkings slots" are meant for CARS ... Right? If you do not permit to park on beach public parkings or roadside, why even put on parking slots divider / lines? It seems like another lame excuses. If you do not want people to park at public washroom or public area, you need to put up a sign. But again, its absurd people need to get permit to park at public washroom! We parked the car at the public washroom at around 11:40 ish am and the ticket was issued at 12:18pm!!! We are still waiting for Rob McDonald response. How exactly should vacationers knows where to park and where not to park when there has no clear sign(s) at public parking area? To Management, if you need, we do have video showing there has no sign or warning about parking at the washroom area.
