Hello there. After taking some time to reflect on this past weekend and trying to put my emotions…read moreto the side, I wanted to write to tell you about our experience with 500 Pearl. From the time we had signed our contract with AnnMarie Taft then Dianne the wedding was over we have had nothing but issues and hurdles to overcome. I have written bullet points to write out our struggles. Beginning with Annmarie Taft Got us to sign after pressuring us to pick a day saying that the days are filling up then disappeared Turns out she left-No one told us even after multiple emails I had to finally call the venue after months of trying to contact and then they told us she was no longer our coordinator then we were paired with Dianne after meeting with Dianne, things Annmarie promised could not be followed through on such as gold chairs per Dianne Working with Dianne Unorganized and unavailable Before Wedding Kept mixing us up with the other couple getting married Asked us what we want on marquee sign which was for the other wedding Kept forgetting details we have already discussed with her via email and in person After multiple errors during emails i sent a neurotic itinerary/day diagram of every little detail and she (in email) messed up table arrangements placing my parents in the back of the room we have also had multiple in person meeting that she came completely unprepared for and met us with a blank stare Rehearsal dinner Officiant had to take over running through the ceremony because Dianne kept messing up the order and did not know how it should go was asked multiple times this night by myself, my party and my officiant if the wxyz bar would be quiet for our ceremony and was met with "oh absolutely!" waited three hours (until 1130 pm) to get extra pillows and blankets for the bridesmaids Walked into our rooms multiple times without knocking Day of the wedding Woke up to realize that neither the upstairs shower in the girls room or the downstairs shower in the guys had hot water so didn't have enough time to shower before events Couldn't find our decorations or cookies although they were dropped off that day, had multiple excuses Couldn't find the 3" candles I had brought in and put in the storage room she told me to put them in Told us she couldn't help us day of wedding because she was giving a tour unable to get into conference holding room (Iocked) to grab our stuff after first look, Dianne nowhere to be found front desk unable to unlock due to not having keys to unlock it for us and didn't call anyone to help (left without our stuff) After first look Dianne sent bridesmaids to the limo, did not relay to groomsmen, did not relay to groom and I all waiting in the lobby looking for bridesmaids/ Dianne nowhere to be found, front desk had no idea where dianne had the limo park. Groomsmen running around looking for limo couldn't find dianne delaying us for photos Nowhere to be found when needing coordinating she needs an assistant and a headset so she can communicate with all areas. There should be NO calling the front desk to find her Ceremony in the exchange room: told us that the bar would be closed . The curtain would be drawn to the ceremony room to make the big entrance and shut when the ceremony went on-didn't happen . It was so noisy at the bar no one could hear our vows. Very sad and unprofessional. it was extraordinarily loud and so embarrassing my officiant wanted to stop the ceremony Due to the noise volume during the ceremony she told me she'd give me a mimosa bar for breakfast knowing that I'm expecting a child and can't drink We were told there would be staff in the lobby and at the elevator to guide our guests to the ceremony and guide our guests to cocktail hour by Ann Marie and Dianne. There was a small sign that we noticed when touring with Ann Marie in the lobby stating there was a wedding. No sign for us, no ushers for us. The groom and I had to go around to our guests to help them get to cocktail hour When our elderly family members who walk with a cane asked for directions for the ceremony. The front desk told them the stairs are "right there." Placed seating chart on wrong side of the room Messed up head table seating (i fixed during cocktail hour) Locked the keys to our cardbox inside the box Gave us no walkway to enter the reception Desserts were put out during cocktail hour instead of after dinner. My mother in law had to hunt her down and her answer is we always put them out now. since when is a dessert table placed out BEFORE dinner Our cake sat out the entire night. Before leaving the venue I had to ask multiple times for them to wrap up our cake and put it in the fridge (buttercream frosting needs to be refrigerated) was told "we'll get to it" The cherry on top Promised us an interior suite for the night of the wedding and put it under my sister and her boyfriend's name instead, My now husband and I ended in a regular room. i highly regret choosing 500 for my venue

I'm not entirely sure where to begin with this review because the experience was a mix of good…read moreintentions, disappointing execution, and consistently poor hospitality. Prior to my stay, I called the hotel twice on separate days requesting an early check-in. Having traveled quite a bit, I've learned it's always best to communicate these things in advance. During both calls, I was assured notes would be added to my reservation and that the staff would do their best to accommodate the request. However, during my second call, I was informed there were no notes on file at all. I asked if one could simply be added since I still had over 24 hours before arrival, and I was told someone would call me back within 2-3 hours to confirm. I never received that call. When we arrived on the day of check-in, unsurprisingly, the room was not ready. To their credit, they did offer complimentary breakfast and stored our luggage while we explored the area, which I appreciated. Unfortunately, the issues only continued from there. Once entering the room, we noticed visible stains on the bedding, as shown in the photos provided. While I initially tried to let it go and enjoy the trip, it became increasingly difficult to overlook the overall condition of the room. The bench seating near the desk was not only visibly stained, but also loose and unstable to the point where sitting on it felt questionable. I ended up wiping it down myself with disinfectant wipes. The room service phone also did not function properly -- calls could be made, but we could not hear anyone on the other end. After reporting this, no one came up for quite some time, and we had to repeatedly go downstairs to request basic items and toiletries before assistance finally arrived roughly 30-40 minutes later. The hotel itself is in an excellent location, which is honestly one of its strongest qualities. However, the hospitality throughout the stay fell far below expectations. The restaurant service in particular was consistently disappointing. I approached every interaction politely and warmly, yet the staff largely came across as disengaged, cold, and robotic. Very little attentiveness was shown during meals, and the energy from several servers made it quite apparent they did not want to be there. Ironically, the most friendliness we received came when the check was presented. As for the food, it was average at best. Not terrible, but certainly not memorable. Breakfast was underwhelming, and small details were repeatedly overlooked. At one point, we informed the staff that the coffee served was cold, and the response we received was essentially that it had been sitting out and they could simply pour hotter coffee into it to warm it up. That interaction honestly summarized the level of service we experienced throughout the stay: reactive rather than attentive, and lacking the professionalism expected at this price point. Overall, I left disappointed because the hotel has genuine potential. The location is fantastic, and with the right level of care, attentiveness, and hospitality training, the experience could be significantly elevated. Unfortunately, when you are paying premium prices, you expect the quality of service and comfort that is advertised -- and this stay simply did not deliver that. Oh I almost forgot, we got an unexpected visit from a stink bug and the staff merely said "I am so sorry for that"

Just a stroll to some cool historical memorials and statues. Short drive and a lot of sights to see and visit. Enjoyed our time here. Hopefully we'll be back someday. Recommendations are high.
