Visited this spot on a recent trip to St. Pete. It was quite busy, so we ended up at the bar. The band, Boomers, was great and played a lot of music you wanted to sing along with! We ordered some clam strips. When they first arrived I was concerned as they looked burnt, but they ended up being quite tasty and tender. The basket was big enough to share, and we even had a few left over. Drinks were served promptly and the staff was very friendly. read more

This place has gone downhill big time recently since new owner took over. Used to be an awesome dive bar. They have a miserable bartender Erika who's such the B word! Not only crazy attitude to the customers that have been coming there for many years but she is so stressed out doing her bartending job she should find something less stressful for her so she's not scaring off all the long time customers it's not brain surgery she's doing.. In my 50 years of going to bars, I've never had a worse experience. It's the only time (literally!) in my life I did not leave a tip. When we got to the bar, it was about half full and there were three female bartenders. Hubbie and I took our seats - within a few feet and in full view of all three servers - and were ignored. We waited, and waited, and waited. Four full minutes before one asked us what we wanted. I asked for a rum runner and she said they don't have Meyers rum for a topper so I said well any rum will do. More on this later. We got our drinks and after awhile, my husband finished his. And then waited. And waited. All three servers were busy doing .... ?? Two huddled around a point of sale register and the other I don't know. It was seven full minutes - we were keeping track - before he was asked if he wanted another drink. After I finished mine, it was fourteen minutes - 14! - as my very obviously empty glass sat in front of me. The place was not that busy and by now, less than half the bar stools were occupied. When one of the servers finally noticed, we were done. To add a final insult to injury, my rum floater - which is a fundamental part of a rum runner - cost me another $1.50! On top of an $8.50 drink! I guess if you're a regular here you have value. If you're not, you're invisible. You shouldn't leave a bar seething. If anyone in managemenet bothers to read these, we were there Wed. 12/11 from 1:45 till 2:45. Check your cameras to see I'm not exaggerating about our wait times. *** Addendum: 2 days later my VISA card notified me that a 57% tip had been added to my bill. They turned my zero into $10.00!! This place was an incredible experience. If you're into dive bars, this is the place for you. The food is typical bar food that will satisfy whatever bar food you need snd want and it's pretty's decent. Open until 3am and we walked into local karaoke night! We were a huge party of about 60 coming in from a YouTube podcast event. The place was already slammed, with only 4 bartenders, maybe 1 or 2 guys in the kitchen, and maybe a manager. We thought we were going to have to get food somewhere else. But this place knocked it out of the park! The drinks were all on point and the food was all ordered and came out in a very timely fashion and cooked to your liking! The bar tenders were hilarious and helpful and who doesn't love a good karaoke night!?! If we ever come back to Clearwater, we will definitely return. The wings, fish sandwich, burgers, fries, and buffalo chicken sandwich was exactly the dive bar good we wanted! I've been here twice recently and I've been impressed both times. Great little neighborhood bar/restaurant with a good mix of locals (young and older). A friendly staff and great burgers. They have entertainment periodically with comedy night on the second Friday of the month. If you're looking for a good place for burgers and a beer/mixed drinks check it out. We wanted to like it! Heard they had good wings and we are on a hunt to find some dynamite wings. It was pretty much a bar with food. That's ok, sometimes they have the best food. Service was slow as there were only two girls to a pretty packed bar and tables! It was 4:00 on a Friday. I asked my hubby if anyone was eating or just drinking. He wanted to bail before we ordered but I wanted to try. Anyway, ordered a couple beers and waited awhile to place our food order. Beers were good and cold. Ordered 10 buffalo wings and garlic Parmesan fries, cooked extra crispy and onion petals. Onion petals were good. Fries were soggy and limp! Like they made them the complete opposite of crispy . Wings were ok. Sauce was tasty. Flappers we're good but drums had hard pieces in them. Blue cheese was very good. No celery? For $16 bucks for 10 small wings we thought they could throw in some celery! Guy playing music and singing was good. Played some great songs for us old farts! All in all for $50 bucks we would not go back. Our search for great a great wing place continues! read more

A friend brought me here for some afternoon drinks. The prices were great and though the inside was cramped the patio was nice. However some guy started screaming at the bartender and calling her (very) offensive names. I was shocked when he wasn't asked to leave. I haven't decided yet whether I'll go back. As a relative newcomer to FL (2 years), I am trying to find establishments with my "brand of crazy". As a result, I try new bars all the time. This is a local's bar where everyone knows everyone. That said, both bar staff and patrons welcomed me on my first visit. Everyone was super friendly and initiated conversation. They take care of each other when someone crosses the line or is creepy. The fact that there is no smoking indoors sealed the deal for me. As a result of all this, I will be back. read more

Not sure how to rate this place. I like it, they have done a very good job at cleaning it up, no smoking inside. The food is hit and miss, could be better with a little extra effort. I stopped in last night to check out the karaoke and to see how the place was. The staff was friendly, and efficient. Niagara Tap is one of those places that you'd never expect to have delicious food. It's a smokey dive bar that will probably destroy your lungs if you stay longer than a minute or two, which is why I was shocked I was sent there over the summer by my superior for a food review. Was this some kind of joke? When my order was ready the bartender noted Niagara Tap was in the running for best wings on my employer's website - not knowing where I worked. I smiled and walked outside. I decided to have my wings in my car since the restaurant is pretty far from anywhere I could stop and eat. WOW. These have to be the best wings I have ever tasted in my life. The Honey BBQ wings were in this delicious sauce like no other. The wings were meaty and tender and came right off the bone when I started eating them. It was only a minute or two before I destroyed the box of wings I bought. I now realized that delicious wings were hiding at Niagara Taps, just waiting to be discovered and written about. I recommend ordering take-out if possible to avoid the actual place, but those were seriously some incredible wings and well worth the trip. read more

I was barred over drama by one of the owners. I had literal proof that I didn't do anything wrong,yet I was told that they are not babysitters and that maybe one day I will grow up and I am barred indefinitely. Instead of removing the people who are actually responsible for the "drama" they remove someone who has been a customer for the past 4 years and spend alot of money. Too much drama in this place. There are far more better bars to go to for them to be acting like that. Maybe one day they'll have a better rating. And not to mention they constantly bad mouth other local bars and the bar owners. Neighbor dive with decent food. Not exciting but a place to get a drink and something from the deep fryer.

The Tap is that local spot where there's always familiar faces, and always new ones too. The majority is probably 50 plus, but there's a handful of younger people at any given time. Karaoke keeps the inside lively and bustling while the outside porch is a nice chill area. The staff is attentive, but they're hustling inside and out when it gets busy. Have patience, they work hard! The only food I've ever had is the blackened wings, and they are hot, crispy and delicious. Drama free, I've never seen a fight here, but there are some locals who you would NOT want to tangle with. I like it that way. Everyone just minds their own and has a good time. Respect! read more

Honestly - the blond chick behind the bar ( older ) is a hot mess. Bitching about what she is tipped and she's clearly a damn drunk - maybe find people to tend bar that don't do this. I've been in the business for a few years and I make a killer living behind the bar by not being a rodeo clown like her. She's a drunk and I won't ever refer this place when she's working.
