I had a great time at Hurricane Eddie's in Indian Rocks Beach. A street over from the beach with public parking beach entrance across the street. Very easy access and location. Small parking lot so I would not bank on it. Staff was friendly and place had a chill open air vibe. Lots of great drink specials, good and plenty food at affordable prices. We hit Hurricane Eddies on our second to last day of the trip and wished we had done it earlier. Great food, great drinks and great service. We stopped in for a late lunch and while the tables were pretty empty, the bar was full with what seemed like regulars and everybody was having a great time. The bartender came around to us with some menus and took our drink orders. My daughter asked if they had Cherry coke and his response was "I can make you cherry coke if you want" which means you already have my respect and I knew the service was going to be top notch. We threw in a pretzel to start. It was HUGE. Came out piping hot with a delicious queso to dunk it in. We put away that pretzel pretty quick and it was on to the entrees. We got the Shrimp Po Boy, Grouper Bites, Fish and Chips, Chicken Wings, Chicken Tenders and Patty Melt. there wasnt a single miss amongst the group. Po Boy had 6 HUGE lightly battered golden brown shrimp with a nice remoulade and classic lettuce and tomato. I added a little hot sauce and it was DELICIOUS!! The grouper bites and fish and chips impressed my wife and daughter. Clean pieces of fish, battered. fried and served with fries. Cant go wrong! My son got the Patty melt and this was a BIG PM.... to the point he could only finish half but said it was one of the best ones he's ever had. We also got a couple drinks and my wife was VERY happy with her Miami Vice. Nothing like a frozen drink at the beach! Went for drinks. Waited a while and finally got some menus. Then water. So far, not bad. Then nobody came back. After a very long time we sent one person up to the bar to get drinks. Only one each and nobody came over ( even after mentioning it to the bartender). When we were sitting empty, finally a guy asked if we needed our bill. So we paid and left. No food. Great friendly local bar to hang out with friends. They have open garage doors in the front which allows you to enjoy the sun and nice weather. The bar is comfortable, or you can choose table seating both inside and outside. You can bring food in to eat if you want, too (no kitchen yet). Yummy! A short walk from our condo took us to Hurricane Eddies tonight. Thankfully our waitress Kate, told us the Nachos would feed 4 - and it did! Loaded with jalepenos, chili, cheese onions, sour cream and salsa were solo good. (Could have had a little more cheese...) We had the shrimp and fish tacos- delicious. This is one of our favorite spots to stop on long walks for a break and beverage. The outdoor seating is our favorite and most tables feature umbrellas for shade. We still haven't tried the food. I have had Yelp for at least 5 years and have never left a review until now. Unfortunately, it's for a bad reason. The bar and atmosphere here is great, but the bartenders are terrible. The first time (and only time) we went there it was clear they were serving under age and then when the under age guests complained about use playing games they told us we were disrupting the bar. We had 1 drink and were not drunk or loud while the underage guests were drunk and vaping at the bar area. Mind you we are all 30+ and know our drinking limits. We ended up at Hurricane Eddie's on a whim when other dinner plans didn't work out. It was relatively empty, despite it being 6:30 PM, so we thought that we might as well give it a try. There were plenty of TVs to watch sports on, and even some little games that kids were playing with (i.e. large Jenga blocks). It is an open-air type of place, where you could outside or "inside," although it was more of a garage feel as opposed to actually being indoors. This was nice because we could be outside and enjoy the night without being totally exposed to the wind and heat. Our food was tasty - the French Dip was especially delicious. The prices were good as well, not as expensive as other nearby establishments. We did have to wait quite a while for our check, but they had just gotten busy and we were enjoying the evening air, anyway. Overall, it was a solid sports bar with a beachy vibe, and the food was pretty good. Nothing to be mad at. Worst dining experience in a long time. Everyone's margaritas were like slightly flavored water. Pickle chips tasted more like fried cucumbers than pickles, and were served in a half inch of grease. My friends burger, that was ordered medium, was the blackest burger I've ever seen...too gross looking to even try. How could a cook not only burn a burger that bad, yet still serve it too??? Plus, our server was beyond terrible! Never checked on us, never asked for drink refills, and completely messed up everyone's checks. We have recently heard about a new menu at hurricane Eddie's so we wanted to go try out their new menu items. first time we went service was so unbelievably slow, was only able to order two drinks in well over an hour. Never received sauces that I had ordered as well with cold fries to boot. Servers were kind but one of them (tall skinny with goatee) was not very kind and brought a very negative presence. We decided to to give them a shot two weeks later. As soon as we sat down the same guy we had problems with before asked for a signed doctors note for our certified psychiatric service animal??? The same dog who had been with us the time prior and had no issues! And then when provided with a psychiatric service dog registration card (from the US DOJ) still denied us service in the indoor area, while being two tables down from a non service animal. Very disappointed. On the bright side, food is good and the drink menu and ambiance are enjoyable, potentially great place to eat but they need to work on customer service. read more

Not a place to watch Tampa Bay Sports. 12 big screen TVs and no Bolts game on. waited at bar and couldn't get either bartenders attention. Finally yelled at this dude..."Excuse me, can you get the Lightning on"? Bartender "I dunno." Walks off. Comes back "what do you want to drink? I said "The game?" He looks really annoyed. "What channel is it on?" I walked out. This is a third strike for this place. I'm giving two stars only for it's location and the open air setting. Came from NY for vacation like we do every year. Immediately walked in and had entire staff staring us down. Asked for our IDs which is fine (we're all over 25.) My boyfriend's ID had a dent from our puppy that got ahold of it a year ago, still totally legible or else how would we have been able to fly down here? Anyways bartender, he stated he couldn't accept the ID or read the birthdate. Which was clearly stated on the ID. It was an excuse to not serve us. Showed a second form of ID- pistol permit, still wouldn't let him get a drink. You would think after the hurricane they would take any business they can get- place was empty when we showed up. Really disappointed. Can't believe Florida is that strict on something non existent. Waste of time and money to be treated badly by a shitty establishment. Do not recommend unless you're a townie.
