Yellow Bun & Chocolate Kitchen: Our Father-Daughter Quest for Burger Greatness…read more My daughter and I were back on our mission to find the best burger spots in the DMV. This time, we chose Yellow Bun & Chocolate Kitchen, mostly because their food pictures had us ready to risk our budgets and our diets. When we walked in, the menu surprised both of us. It was huge -- burgers, grilled cheeses, ice cream, cupcakes, cakes in bottles. My eyes immediately locked onto the desserts like they owed me money. I was so distracted by the sweets that my daughter had to take charge of the ordering. She knows how I get around sugar. After a few rounds of debate, we finally settled on: Lamb Burger Seafood Grilled Cheese Oreo Cookie Cupcake Snickerdoodle Cupcake Strawberry Shortcake While we were placing the order, I started talking to Naimah (hoping I spelled that right). I asked her if the food was good, and she hit me with a confident, energetic "YES." I told her if it wasn't, I'd be talking about her -- and she laughed like she knew she was safe. I could see the women in the kitchen working in their uniforms, focused and moving with purpose. That always gives me hope. Good food usually comes from people who look like they care. After a short wait, our food came out packed to go, but even through the containers, the aroma was strong enough to make us both hungry all over again. Everything passed the eye test -- visually perfect. We split both sandwiches. The Lamb Burger went first... and wow. It was beyond outstanding. I was blown away. My daughter isn't a lamb lover at all, but even she admitted it was really good -- which tells you how strong that burger was. This was clearly a homemade lamb patty -- juicy, seasoned, and paired with feta like it was meant to be. My mouth is watering again just thinking about it. Hands down the juiciest lamb burger I've ever had. Next was the Seafood Grilled Cheese. It was good, but something was missing. We added the sauce, which helped, but it still needed a little something to make it great. The shrimp was cooked perfectly and seasoned well. The crab was lump, but it didn't stand out. My daughter said it needed a tomato to balance the flavors -- and honestly, she was right. A tomato might be the missing piece. Then came my favorite part: dessert. The Strawberry Shortcake was great, but I needed more whipped cream. That's just who I am. The cupcakes, though? Outstanding. Moist cake, melt‑in‑your‑mouth texture, frosting that complimented instead of overpowering. They were the kind of cupcakes that make you close your eyes for a second. We'll definitely be back to Yellow Bun & Chocolate Kitchen to try more things. And yes -- Naimah is safe. I don't need to name‑drop her in shame.

I found this place while I was visiting another business nearby…read more The name Yellow Bun and Chocolate got me. I thought it was a dessert place. But, I walked in and found that they actually have an array of savory items as well. First things first, it's carryout so no place to dine. But the service is awesome. I've been a few times and have gotten a different person every time and they have all been really helpful and kind. I met the owner the first time who recommended the Turkey Club as it's one of their headlining items and remarked that they serve all day breakfast as well. After trying a few items, I can say that they rarely miss. My favorites are: *Yellow Cupcake with Chocolate Icing. Pretty simple but it's my favorite type of cupcake and it never disappoints. *Brioche Bacon, Egg and Cheese. The eggs were fluffy, the sandwich was flavorful and filling. I've a had a few from different places and this is at the top for me. *Turkey Club. I have no complaints about this one. I've ordered it a few times and enjoyed it every time. It doesn't come with a side but you really don't need it. All in all, I'm a repeat customer so I order from them from time to time and have recommended them as well.

Same name, same menu, ghost kitchen. I ordered the OG with a side of tots via Uber Eats. The tots…read morewere ok, a little on the salty side, but I didn't mind that. The chicken sandwich, however, was horrible. The chicken was super thin and tough, with no mayo- I could barely chew it due to being overcooked and burned. The bun was also burned. Overall, the sandwich was dry and essentially inedible. The only positive was the amount of pickles. Don't waste your money or tastebuds.

Personally I wouldn't bother patronizing this place again. It was close by so I wanted to give it…read morea try. I used postmates and ordered the OG combo. OG combo is a chicken sandwich with coleslaw, Mayo, and Pickle. It was supposed to come with a side. I ordered fries because by the picture those are the kind I like. This place is ten minutes walk, but I ordered bc working from home. My food arrived, I noticed there wasn't a soda. Thanks the delivery guy anyway and said I'd take it up with postmates. Done, I go to open the container everything is cold. I notice first no coleslaw. I move the top bun and see three dry tender tenders. Texture of chicken is way off, and the advertised photo isn't tenders. There is no mention of tenders in the description. I taste one of the tenders. Seasoned but salty. Fries aren't the same either. for 14 dollars I expected handcut fries. I start searching for a number. Aguy answers, I ask him what's on the OG sandwich he repeats what I thought and what the description said. He looks up my order and says we have you down for the classic. My phone on postmates says OG. I then ask him, why is the sandwich chicken tenders. He said...oh yeah we do use chicken tenders. I bring up the fact that none of the photos for your restaurant have tenders. He's silentand maintains that I ordered something else and apologized blaming it on postmates. I was told to take it up with postmates. Which is fine, but sincerely. DO NOT expect your sandwich or fries to look anything like the photos. They definitely don't have the skill to make what they pictured and I think they need to update their photos and descriptions for their items. Do you know how messy it is to try and eat a chicken tender sandwich, there is not edgy or cute about it. Especially when the chicken overcooked and dry. I wouldn't bother ordering here unless everything else around is closed and you're really hungry. At least know what to expect.

Oh, how I love Sardi's! I truly believe they have some of the best charcoal chicken in the area,…read moreespecially when it's fresh off the grill. For my takeout order, I got the chicken with rice and beans, along with the Brussels sprouts and carrots. The Brussels sprouts are my favorite! They can be a little oily, but the seasoning and crispy bits make them so good. Sardi's is always a great choice when I want a comforting, satisfying meal that doesn't leave me feeling too guilty afterward. They're also consistently quick, making it the perfect spot for an easy takeout meal!

Now...I have been kind of lazy last year a little this year and have not actually went inside even though I live less than 10 minutes away from here. So being the hungry lazy woman I am I ordered twice through Grubhub. I always order had dark because besides the wings I don't like white meat just be too dry! The sides plantains which are cooked so well, green beans are so damn good with the garlic and onions!! I've tried usually white rice and black beans or this time I tried the fried chicken rice and beans and things where I messed up. The chicken fried rice was so dry..uggggh they must use the breast meat because it was not good at all. So that was a one and done for me as a side because it sounds so good...but next time try thigh meat or something so it won't be so dry. I also tried the chicken wings and blue cheese which were very good as well. Besides the green beans which will be forever my side I'll try the mashed potatoes next time. And a side of plantains as well! Maybe I'll venture out and try a few other items one day. But for now I'll stick with what I know! A solids 3.75 stars!
