My wife and I were incredibly pleased with the work that was done. Originally we were working with Peter, but he transitioned the project to Themis subsequent to some of the initial work. Themis both maintained the aesthetic vision for the apartment as well as closely managed the work of Jimmy, our general contractor. Themis was excellent and very much on top of things in a number of ways: 1. He met with us weekly (or more frequently, if needed) at the apartment to walk through details or issues we had spotted during construction. 2. Themis responded in a very prompt fashion to any e-mails / questions we had. Almost all correspondence was answered within on day, and typically within a couple of hours. If urgent questions arose that required a longer conversation, he was flexible about finding time to have a quick chat during the day. 3. Themis helped insert his aesthetic preferences and vision at points when we had no strong beliefs; that's part of the reason our apartment looks so great! 4. At a critical juncture in the process, the GC had installed our master bathroom fixtures in the second/communal bathroom. We had two different sets of fixtures and so the "expensive" ones were placed in the wrong bathroom. Rather than rip out the fixtures and place them in the master bathroom, Themis suggested we just buy a duplicate set of fixtures for the master bathroom. Though it was largely the GC's "fault," reBUILD picked up the additional cost with no questions asked. This is the reason why design/build should be preferred by residential buyers. I could go on and on, but Themis and team were incredibly helpful in getting us the apartment we imagined. The end results exceeded my expectations and my home not only looks excellent, but is much more usable now. We actually had specific requests on how to build out the apartment, but after in depth consulting with the team, they recommended much better options and now the place looks much more aesthetically pleasing than before! I am extremely happy with the quality work and the open communication throughout the project. Having worked with other contractors before, the biggest problem is always the lacked of communication leading to a sense of distrust. There was absolutely no such feeling with the A+ crew at reBuild. In fact all the craftsmen were a delight to have around, especially Jimmy and George who both had a great sense of humor and many wonderful stories from all their years in the business. Lastly, I cannot stress how impressed I was with the respect they gave our home. Each time I would return to the condo to take a look at the progress, I would find everything meticulously covered, taped up and treated properly. Even my super commended their professionalism. I highly recommend rebuild and will certainly look to them for my future projects.

I had an issue with the front door to my apartment that was preventing it from closing properly…read more The metal door needed to be trimmed at the bottom so it could clear the floor which raised up a bit due to water damage. This job proved too difficult for handymen and most contractors quoted me outrageous prices. Thankfully, I found Galiono Construction. Gabriel came out on a Sunday morning ready to work. He offered a fair price and finished the job quickly. The door opens perfectly and you can't tell it was cut. I was so happy with him and his partner's work, I asked them to fix a loose tile in the shower. Again, they handled that with ease. I will definitely use them again.

They were very polite and professional and I had a great time working with them. I had a pretty old and corroded bathroom. I had issues from broken tiles, chipped paint, to leaks from apartments above me as you can see in the pictures. They resolved issues and completely renovated my bathroom from top to bottom. So working with a contractor/developer is always challenging -- often you don't speak the same…read morelanguage or get very little guidance on how to go about picking things for your place. Kocher Construction is the exception, Rich Kocher and his team are amazing! One of our friends used Kocher for a major renovation project including a kitchen and bath, then we saw a entire building that he built from the ground up and it was beautiful. Amazing attention to detail. So we decided to hire him to redo our tiny bathroom. We kept the bathroom footprint the same but his help it now looks twice as big. He gave us guidance and examples of what will work and what will not work and even offered to come shopping with us to pick tiles, fixtures and tubs. We didn't have too much time to pick things, so we used a lot of his suggestions and absolutely love the end result. We now have a well lit, spacious bathroom, with counter space when there was non before, a super deep soaking tub to ease the worries of the day away and elegant, modern tile to bring it all together. His team of workers are very trustworthy, we were able to take a planned vacation and leave everything to his team -- we came back and everything was cleaned and organized. None of our personal belongings were touched, they actually covered it all with plastic so it wouldn't get dusty from the renovations. Thank you Rich and the Kocher Construction team!!! Look forward to completing more projects with them in the future!

This is a review for both Robert Jenny Design and Robert Jenny Builders…read more I recently hired RJD / RJB for both the design and build phases of a complete kitchen renovation, and overall I'm very pleased with the results. During the design phase, my designer (Marlene) did a great job listening to what I wanted, and also observing my space and absorbing things I hadn't articulated. I provided her with general parameters, but didn't fill in all the details, both because I didn't know exactly what I wanted, and because I wanted to leave space for her to have input. She came up with a great first draft that was probably 80 - 90% of the way to the final design, and she made some great choices with regard to colors and layout - thing I might not have selected on my own, but really liked once I saw them. We then went back and forth and refined the design, with each of us providing useful input, and ultimately came up with something I really liked. During that phase she spent a lot of time walking me through different choices, and was very helpful. The design phase is billed by the hour, but I feel like I got my money's worth ten times over. It's ultimately a small percentage of the total cost, and was completely worth it since it delivered something I really liked. I initially wondered whether they might 'pad' the billing, but in no way do I feel that they did. If anything, it almost seemed like they under-billed relative to the time that was put in. Very fair pricing, and completely worth it. For the build phase, RJD completely gutted the old kitchen, then installed new tile flooring, cabinets, backsplash, appliances & lighting, and painted not only the kitchen but the main living space. Each part of the build was done properly, and at least to my untrained eye, seems to have been done in a quality way. Once the initial build was completed, the inspection revealed some minor defects in the finish of some the cabinet doors (the cabinet manufacturer's fault, not theirs), and they were very good about working with the cabinet dealer to get the doors replaced. In the end, I was completely satisfied with every detail of their workmanship, and the pricing for all the work seemed fair. They obtained all the necessary permits from the city and completed official inspections of the work at the end, so it was all above-board. In terms of cost, we settled on an initial budget, and they never pushed me to go with higher-cost items. They were very conscientious about trying to stay within my limit. Once the design was finalized, we agreed on the budget for the build phase, and they came in 100% on budget, not a nickel over. I was actually somewhat surprised at that, as I'd heard plenty of stories from other people who had used different contractors and seen costs go over-budget. I had steeled myself for that as a distinct possibility, and was happy to see things stay on track. The one way we did go over budget was with respect to time. During the design phase, I was told on several occasions that the work would take about two weeks to complete. In the end it actually took seven weeks, which was considerably longer than what I was expecting. Understand that, during renovations, your entire place is a mess: the room they're working on, the space they're using to store all the materials, adjoining rooms that get filled up with dust, etc., so it's an inconvenience to have them take longer than planned. Time delays aside, I was happy with RJD / RJB's work, and would contract with them again for future projects.
