This was the first time we had professional photos taken of the baby and were of course a tad apprehensive about how it all would go, especially due to the fact that he had a terrible nap day the day of the shoot (of course!). Things could not have gone smoother - Kate has 3 children herself so was just wonderful at getting him to smile and holding his attention. She was so creative with finding good spots for pictures (our shoot took place at White Point gardens and the streets surrounding them), and we found her to be warm, pleasant, and very fun to work with. We felt relaxed and comfortable the whole time - it was really an enjoyable evening! The pictures themselves are breathtaking - I teared up when I opened them, and there are a few that still make me misty whenever I look at them! I'm still having a hard time deciding between several for our Christmas card because they're all so gorgeous! She got a great balance of staged, portrait-like shots along with more relaxed, candid moments of our family. These will be treasured by us for a long, long time. We can't recommend Kate enough!! Looking at the photos she captured throughout the weekend takes us right back to the joy and happiness because she was able to capture such real and genuine moments. Our gang of 14 included crying babies and the weather was windy with threatening rain, but Michael just moved us all through a fun, relaxing photo shoot and gave us quality photos beyond our wildest expectations. Though I honestly wanted to come away with just one family photo, there was such a variety with different groups in different poses that we ended up needing all of them! Especially when choosing locations for our shoots. He helped us really relax and his kind and funny demeanor really made a big difference in our photos. Not super pleased with our Dj experience with Bunn. We spoke many times on the phone about…read moreexpectations and it seemed like everyone was on the same page. By the time the wedding came around our Dj just chose not to follow the plan (ex. skipped over the bridal party entrance) and didn't play very many songs off our must play list but rather just chose what he wanted. i had to repeatedly send bridesmaids up to ask to play the songs on our MUST play list, we also chose not to accept requests and this was also ignored by the Dj. Also we spoke about having family friendly music on the front half of dancing and about 3 songs in an EXTREMELY inappropriate song that we did NOT request played and I had many offended guests. Overall the music choices were not bad at all, but if i knew they were going to go against our wishes I probably would have hired elsewhere.

How many people consider their wedding photographer a friend after the fact? It's pretty awesome! One story I'll never forget - On the actual wedding day, my hair and makeup took too long and I was over an hour late getting to my First Look. My anxiety level was at all time high. Then, my dad who was supposed to drive me to the location decided to "go for a drive" and was no where to be found (seriously Dad?!). I thought I was going to break down in tears, but Philip had my back! He cleared out his car and I jumped in and he drove me to the First Look. On the way there, he helped me see the humor in the situation and my anxiety melted away. I went from feeling completely crushed to laughing in just minutes. He just has that effect on people. And trust me - when it's your wedding day, those are the types of people that make all the difference. It's so true that your wedding photographer is the most important decision you will make about your wedding. Don't hesitate - book Philip now! I'm 100% positive that you will have zero (and I mean ZERO) regrets. I wish I could do it all over again.
