I recall seeing him power-walking in the sand and to take photos. Despite the breeze and uneven lighting, all the photos came out wonderfully! They were all beautiful. Nick's style is timeless and vibrant which really captures the energy and the story of the best day! Nick was absolutely amazing on our wedding day. The energy he brought was everything you could ask for in a photographer for such a special day in your life. We first saw Nick's work at the wedding expo a couple of years ago. It was the underwater photos that really got us. Not all wedding photographers are also underwater sport photographers. Well, I'm sure most of them are not. This is the start of why we had to hire Nick. And then we met him. Nick is awesome. He was really great at making us feel comfortable and it was just fun to be his subject matter. We were constantly laughing which really helped with the nerves. We hired Nick for our Trash the Dress photo session at Waimea Bay (gorgeous day, amazing photos and we even jumped off the rock!), our Ceremony at Magic Island and our Reception at the Hale Koa. Instead of getting engagement photos, we opted for honeymoon photos! So I needed to find a photographer in Hawaii. First thing, I went on yelp and looked at photographers' work. We hired Nick to shoot our wedding ceremony at Turtle Bay on the North Shore. We were coming from Virginia, so there's a 6 hour time difference that made it difficult working with other vendors. Nick, on the other hand, always responded by afternoon EST (so morning his time). He was also available by phone, email, or text which was very convenient since I had to travel a couple of days before the ceremony. We had a little mix up wiring funds, but Nick worked with us to make sure we got the payment right, and most importantly, that we had a photographer for our ceremony. I was very impressed with his professionalism. When we finally met Nick in person, my wife commented on his "bedside manner." He was very easy to work with and gave great instruction to make sure the portraits came out perfectly. He also had amazing ideas for the limited time we had, and also incorporated some ideas from my father-in-law. Relative to price, I believe Nick was slightly more expensive than other photographers I looked at, but it was definitely worth the cost and you get what you pay for. We're very happy with our images and they will last a lifetime. If we ever need photographs back in the islands, or if we have friend/family doing a Hawaiian wedding we will not hesitate to recommend Nick. read more

I'll start off by saying I didn't book Nick for our wedding so this review is JUST based on our first experience with him when we were researching photographers. We met him at Wedding Cafe on a week night which was a breeze to schedule with him. You can check out his stuff there. Nick is REALLY attentive and very easy to reach via email/phone. When we were researching photographers he was quick to respond (1 day turnaround) and was very willing to help with anything we had questions about. Nick is an amazing professional who, by the end of the wedding, was beloved my all my closest family members. He did not treat me like any other customer, he treated me like I was family. My husband and I were born and raised in Hawaii so we wanted a local photographer that made us feel comfortable and could capture candid moments. Nick asked great questions and gave great suggestions during our initial meeting. He came to the wedding rehearsal to make sure he knew all the bridal party members' names. The most amazing thing he did though, was facilitate an additional photoshoot. Our wedding was supposed to be outside with a view of the Ko'olau Mountain range, but it was thunder storming on my wedding day so I thought I would never get the mountain range pictures of my dreams, which is the main reason why we picked that venue. So I was so surprised when two days later, Nick texts me and says the weather has improved and if I'd be interested in trying again for the mountain range photos. I said yes, and he arranged with the venue to do the pictures. My husband had returned his tux, so Nick even brought a tie for us to borrow! This is a late review from last year when Nick covered my son's 1st birthday at the zoo. I only write reviews when I feel the business is outstanding or I received dirt poor service. The fact that I'm writing this a year later shows how impressed I still am with Nick--this review just got overcome by life. I'm from Hawaii but live on the mainland now so finding the best professionals to work with and coordinating this long distance can be stressful. He helped me refer me to Orig Media for videography who we also hired. They were such a great team and never interrupted "moments" like other photographed I've worked with. He captured every special moment and especially, my son's spirit. While we quickly discussed the remaining shots that day, Nick showed me this awesome picture of my son on his camera. I loved it and was excited to see the rest! Working with Nick was like working with a long-time friend. We absolutely LOVED Nick!!!!!! I planned our destination wedding from New Jersey and emailed several photographers and decided on Nick because of his personality and timeliness. We loved them all from the getting ready pics and the ceremony to the pics we took with just my husband and I at a nearby beach afterwards.
