ONE LINE: Meagan is the BEST! Highly recommended for all sorts of events! AWESOME: I originally met Meagan when she was one of the shooters from our wedding and since then, she's done both our maternity and newborn shoots. We absolutely love working with her--she's so sweet and she gives really clear direction/instructions. My husband and I agree that we always feel super comfortable whenever we're getting our picture taken by her. There's great communication throughout the whole process and the end product never fails to blow me away! I wish our house had more wall space because want to frame and hang it all! NEWBORN: More about our newborn shoot--it was awesome! Meagan came with some greenery that she previously contacted me about for preference. I loved that she gives you the option of shooting at her studio or at your home (we picked shooting in our home so that we could do some shots with the family dog). She budgets a healthy amount of time to factor in soothing and feeding--I didn't feel rushed at all. She's so patient and you get such a good vibe working with her, which is great for kids and newborns but also really relaxing for stressed-out soon-to-be-moms like I was (and I bet it would go really well with busy busy brides with a bazillion things on their minds). When my fiancé and I were planning our wedding, all I cared about were two things - Good Food and Good Photos. Meagan absolutely delivered on the photos and more! Words cannot express how grateful we are to her for capturing our special day! From our first encounter, she was absolutely sweet and accommodating. My husband and I had no idea what we wanted - but, we just knew that we wanted good photos. From our first meeting, we trusted Meagan immediately. She took the time to get to know my husband and I, and it was as if we were talking with an old friend. I truly believe this makes all the difference with the photos as my other half and I were comfortable with Meagan and allowed her to pose us and take photos of us with such ease. (And believe me, I am camera awkward!) Prior to the wedding, we gave her a list of the "must have" family photos during our wedding...and believe me, it was a LONG list. My fiance and I went with Meagan for our engagement photos and we couldn't be happier with the results as well as the experience! I randomly found Meagan while browsing for photographers for my engagement photos as well as wedding. I was honestly very overwhelmed with the selection of photographers on the island, as everyone looked good but I wanted someone that was easy to work with and who understood what me and my fiance wanted to capture. Before I got engaged, I honestly used to laugh at the couples who took engagement photos out on Ala Moana Beach, and a photographer would pose them in awkward positions or make them do unnatural things that looked soooo fake! I told myself that i did NOT want to be posed and put in positions that I wasn't comfortable with. However, I did want a photographer that would give suggestions as to how we should stand etc, but I just didn't want it to be forced or unnatural. Anyway, Meagan did EXACTLY what I was looking for, and never made me feel uncomfortable. When I stumbled across Meagan's website, I liked that she had a blog and explained her thought process during her photo shoots, and also explained each couple's stories, which made the pictures even more captivating. AFter I contacted her, she asked for a description about me and my fiance as well as how we met, how he proposed, etc. I loved that she took the time to ask us, and made it more personal, because it showed that she really wanted to get to know us and could then photograph us accordingly, based on our personalities and us as a couple. So our engagement photo shoot was not your typical one where we posed on a picnic blanket or with a dog or a sign with our date, etc. We knew we wanted to take photos of the beach that captivated the beauty of Hawaii, but in addition to that, we wanted to be original and take photos of us doing acroyoga, which is an activity we randomly picked up by doing on our own just for fun! I showed Meagan some examples of the amateur stuff that we do in our living room taken with my iPhone, and she was so ecstatic to work with us and see our acroyoga poses in person! I was honestly very nervous because my fiance and I have only done these poses in our living room in private, and haven't really done it in public, nor with a professional photographer! When it came to actually doing the poses, Meagan was very patient and was able to get numerous amazing shots even though it took many attempts to get the poses right. It's hilarious looking back at all the photos she took, because it consisted of a wide range of picture-perfect poses, as well as our bloopers with me falling out of positions, etc. Another thing that impressed me was the effort that Meagan put into our photo shoot. She headed to our desired shooting spot at Lanikai beach a couple of days before to scope out the area and the lighting etc. Not that Lanikai's a bad place to be, but she didn't need to do that and I appreciated that. She informed us that evening that the lighting was not very good at that location/time, and that it was very crowded! So she gave her recommendation to change the location to a secret beach that she likes close to Waimanalo. But then that day we showed up and the tide was too high and we weren't able to take the photos that we wanted. So then we had to make a last min change of plans and headed over to baby Makapuu beach, and did our session there. Following this, we planned to take photos up at the Lanikai Pillboxes, so we drove out that way afterwards. Unfortunately, Meagan actually came down with a cold before our engagement shoot, and she huffed and puffed while ascending the pillbox hike. But she was such a trooper because she didn't want to bail on our shoot, and was determined to hike to the top with all her gear, to help us get the shots that we wanted. And she drove all over the east side of the island in doing so! I cannot express how happy we are that we went with Meagan for our engagement photo shoot. We had a great time with her and felt that she was so personable, like she was one of our friends. Meagan is hardworking, passionate, friendly, patient, and most of all extremely talented. We got soo many compliments from our friends and family on our engagement photos and comments on how beautiful they turned out. We are so thrilled with the results and highly recommend her!!! read more

You'll see 5 stars in almost all of my reviews...but I only review vendors who are great people and therefore great friends that's why!!! OK. Here's the thing. I hate posing for photos. I am NOT photogenic though I love having photos of important moments. Cue in dramatic thrilling music- I present to you Meagan Suzuki Photography - a beautifully talented photographer who understood what my husband and I wanted - to have a good time, pretty photos that proved it, and to feel as not-awkward as possible. Meagan Suzuki nailed it. She made me feel comfortable and happy - not pressured to do certain poses or photos we didn't want to do. I made it clear that while I wanted photos of our special day, spending time with our loved ones was our priority. My fiancé and I booked Meagan for an engagement photoshoot, and I highly recommend her as a photographer! We are so incredibly happy with photos as well as the entire process. Meagan was so thoughtful and kind in all of our communications. She was also very accommodating and coordinated a last minute schedule change due to inclement weather on the day of our shoot. Honestly we were both worried that we wouldn't be nearly as photogenic as some of Meagan's other models, but she really made us feel comfortable and shine that day. My husband and I made a babymoon trip to Hawaii and thought we would take some maternity photos while we were there. I asked a friend of mine who lives in Hawaii for references, and she told me about Meagan. I contacted her via email and she promptly replied with answers to my many questions. She was very easy to communicate with! On the days leading up to our photoshoot, she was very great at reaching out to me, letting me know where we could meet, etc. And since my husband and I are not that great at fashion, we brought a couple of clothes with us for her help with picking the best ones. We are very happy with how the photos turned out!!! She put us at ease right away during the session and was meticulous with making sure no stray hair strand was going to ruin the pictures :) She gave us clear instructions on how to pose (we really need pose coaches for our photos) and we are very glad we had Meagan to document my growing belly! :) She also referred me to Leslie Fair for make up and hair and I have to say, what a great referral! Anyone who has ever tried to get photos of the age-3-and-under set knows that these creatures are not your easiest subjects. Meagan is not only just AMAZING with children, but she produced the most beautiful set of pictures of our kids (ages 3 1/2 and 1) ... and on a day when they should have been named Grumpy and Whiny. She was so patient, fun, and able to roll with their, um, less-than-stellar attitudes! She ended up capturing their hilarious expressions and little personalities so, so perfectly. I was hoping for two or three good photos, but I'm in love with dozens of them. We also had Meagan do photos for our 3-generation family of 10 people. I know, we we are probably her most difficult customers ever! Trying to get nice photos of ages 9 months through senior citizen is a big task, but we have a huge photo book of really lovely pictures from that day. It was the best Christmas gift the grandparents could have asked for. My husband and I are about 2 weeks post destination wedding in Kapolei, HI. We really really miss the island and all of it's beauty. However, our post vacation blues aren't so bad when we look at our photos from our wedding day. Being that it is still rather early to receive all the shots that Meagan caught, she was able to send us phone edits of a few that she captured. Even from the phone, her photos are breathtaking and amazing! We are so excited to see the rest of what she and her team documented. Photography was our #1 priority in our wedding and we searched high and low for the right people that was within our budget. When we found Meagan, we were pretty much blown away from her work on her website. Her price points and hours for her packages didn't quite fit our requirements, but she had no problem being flexible and sort of customizing our own package with the right amount of time at the perfect price. Communication with her throughout the planning was very easy. She was on travel for most of the time before our wedding day, but even while away she responded fairly quickly. Even with the time difference, she was very easy to work with. She even was so sweet to send us a gift to our home before our wedding month began! On our wedding morning, she and her team were very prompt and made sure all my surroundings looked pleasant for any shots they were to take. She and her team were very easy to be around and made sure everything looked just right for each shot - even the amount of sunshine had to be just right! At our venue, they made sure to cover all that I listed on my photo shot list, plus more. They made sure everyone looked their best in the best location. Her partners even went on the rocks and helped us get on and off. We were very very happy with Meagan and her team and have absolutely no complaints!
