Well, to back up a bit, I researched high and low for a memorable, intimate venue but the photographs are what sold us. So happy I called a few weeks after booking the location to see if we could add the extra session the day before our wedding. Not only was the photographer flexible and available, but affordable. Score!! Rick is a photographer with the venue who took our pictures both the day before and at our wedding. Rick and the quality of the pictures he took really lived up to (and exceed) our expectations, could not have asked for a better experience. We thought at best, we'd get a handful of pictures for the price at a single location. However to our surprise, Rick had the afternoon free and it was a gorgeous day, he asked us if we were free to check out another location and we enthusiastically said yes! Granted nearly everywhere you look is an exceptional, scenic Kodak moment, but I don't believe our pictures could've been captured better by anyone else. The rest of the trip Ray and I took a lot of pictures of several beautiful areas within and around the state park. But as you can guess, they look nothing like the ones Rick took :) Rick's blew us away on both days. We never looked better and Mother Nature could not have been captured more beautifully. We got some amazing pictures with the Smoky's behind us, in the state park, on a bridge, in a creek, in front of old abandoned houses, just to name a few. Being a resident of the area, it became apparent quickly Rick knew all the great spots at the right time of day. It was truly a most special day and we couldn't be more thankful to have the pictures to cherish. Thank you!

A few highlights 1…read more Owner extremely responsive in written communication. Offered several options on where to shoot the family pictures. 2. Was super friendly and patient during the shoot with a three year old. 2. Rock bottom pricing. A few lowlights 1. They were 30 minutes late to the session. I almost gave up given it was humid as hell and I had a three year old with me. Refunded me $20 off price for inconvenience. 2. Photographer is self-taught and based on the direction (or lack there of) we got very few photos where there looked to be any composition at all. Lots of action shots of our backs, us looking down or sideways or chasing after our kid. There were a few good ones but frankly I could have caught those with my iPhone. Lighting was off on some pictures (over exposed, blurry pictures). Offered to fix so that I was completely satisfied which was great but I don't have time to go picture by picture asking to fix things. 3. Complete disconnect on final deliverable. No photos that I could print myself were available. I had to buy them or otherwise buy from the gallery. The only ones I could print myself had the company logo on it so not something I'd have professionally printed. Photographer must have stated a half dozen times that she makes more money shooting real estate photos and that is her specialty so I recommend that you look elsewhere for a family photographer.

When we received our first set of photos for our cabin that was to be posted on Airbnb, they were not exactly what we were expecting. After initial conversation about redoing some of the photos, we were fearful that our concerns were not being heard. Then Kaitlyn, the main photographer and editor, went above and beyond to deliver us a product that met our needs. Smoke n Lenses photography is superb both in style and composition. Kaitlyn explained that she was initially trained in real estate photography and after discussing our needs for Airbnb photography, she was able to flawlessly capture the space in a way that guests would be able to envision themselves staying their for the holidays with their family. This was not easy. Our cabin has ALOT of wood, more than a normal cabin. Getting the right lighting, both in pre and post production is difficult. I was amazed at her superb skill to do so. Kaitlyn and Garett are budding Airbnb photographers with lots of talent and over half a decade of professional photography experience. They care deeply for their business and service to their customers. Being a business owner is tough but rewarding work. It can be very difficult at times due to verbose jerks, like me, who write critical reviews. I am so appreciative of both Kaitlyn and Garett's care and effort to work it out, even when things got escalated. Investors! Sarah is a brilliant photographer. I googled "best spots to propose in Gatlinburg", and found her…read moreblog. I made plans with her about 2 weeks beforehand. She was wonderful to plan with, and had dozens of suggestions. The day of, the road to the spot we had picked out was closed, and I was horrified and panicked. She immediately identified a backup spot, and met us there. She waited in the cold (this was during Thanksgiving week 2017 at 5am, it was COLD) for me to propose, for about 40 minutes, as I wanted to catch the sunrise. The pictures came out BEAUTIFULLY. The sun waited to rise until after I had gotten cold and impatient, and popped the question. She took more time to get photos with the sun in the background, and those were gorgeous. I cannot speak highly enough of Sarah, and her work. She is a sweet person, and truly loves what she does. It just so happens she is really damn good at it too.
