The Impossibility Theater is a small, intimate venue with about 52 seats, located in Sevierville, Tennessee. Tickets are available online, over the phone, or in person. The show begins promptly at 5:30 PM, but entry isn't allowed until exactly 5:00 PM. Trust me they're strict about it. I arrived at 4:50 and found the doors locked. A gentleman greeted me at the door and kindly explained he still had a few final preparations to handle. Even with a restroom request, they held firm on the timing. True to his word, the doors opened at 5:00 PM sharp. As you walk in, you're welcomed by a staff member who checks your name and guides you to your seat. What's quirky and fun is that the same man who takes your ticket also performs the entire one-man show! The stage sits just six feet from the front row, creating a cozy and personal atmosphere. The space is very clean, and soft background music plays while you wait. The restroom is located at the back, which means you'll have to walk across in front of the audience if nature calls mid-performance. It's spotless and includes a single handicap-accessible bar next to the toilet. Best to go beforehand. There's a small counter that offers snacks and drinks, though in my opinion, the prices didn't match the portions. A little steep for what you get. This show is best suited for younger children rather than adults. That's why I gave it a higher rating, viewed through the right lens, it's charming and lighthearted. However, if it were intended for a broader adult audience, I'd probably rate it lower. One notable drawback was the unlocked front door during the performance. While we were mid-show, two people wandered in asking about future tickets, and the performer actually paused the show to answer them. I get the hustle, but it broke the flow and felt disruptive. You're welcome to film the performance, which is unusual and at the end of the show, comes a QR code encouraging guests to leave a positive review. A little unconventional, but memorable. read more

It was easy to get tickets easy to find fun for the entire family easy to park easy to find our seats. We were entertained the whole audience participated fun for kids and adults. I was invited to the show for my Birthday. We see three different shows each year in the area. This has got to be the most intimate show of them all there was only 50 people and one illusionist , the correct term they use is mentalist. He had something for fun for every age. Dobell is truly an artist in this craft. Over the years I've seen lots of shows but having all audiences participating and letting you video the show is unheard of. And he encourages it. I am going to try to post a clip from our show if allowed, if not you'll see just the stage. Worth looking up his past shows and taking a look. I was pleasantly pleased with the entire performance and he is easy to find right beside Dave's and Buster's. Great for a date night or a family outing. I took my family (2 kids, middle-aged adults, 2 grandparents) to see this show late last Fall and we had a nice time! I like that it was a family-friendly show that made the kids and adults laugh and smile. The magic show was entertaining, funny, and interesting as well. I appreciated that there was a bit of crowd participation. I would also like to add that COVID-19 protocol was followed to my expectations and I felt safe while in the theatre as they distanced us from other parties and the magician wore a mask. We would definitely go back and see another show when we return to Gatlinburg. For the price, the value, the entertainment, it was worth it! **The theatre itself is located in the same building as the space needle, but note that you need to walk through the arcade to get back to the theatre. The booth when you first walk in the doors is for the arcade. Just keep walking toward the left side of the arcade and you will see the theatre entrance. read more

Saw an add on Groupon for this show and decided to give it a try. I was amazed at how entertaining it was. He is very entertaining and engaging with the audience. Lots of audience participation. Tricks were very good also. Located in an arcade in the back at the bottom of the space needle. It's a small, intimate theater so you can really enjoy the up close of the show. He did a good bit of talking which was fine, I wish it was more of the magic but I still enjoyed myself very much as did both my teens! Recommend to anyone! If you are ever in Gatlinburg you must see this show! I grew up watching David Blaine and Copperfield on television and were amazed at how they left people in awe at their magic/mindreading capabilities. I have always wanted the "live" experience and finally had the opportunity to have an up close and personal view. Impossibilities is a family friendly show that offers laughs, wonder, and amazement. Erik Dobell did a outstanding solo performance, he kept the audience engaged and encouraged participation. You may be asked to come on stage or remain in your seat but either way it ended all thoughts that this show was staged. Erik would try to pick one person per family/group to participate. Definitely not something I would have paid money for. The first 15 minutes were let's guess what hand the coin is in. So much smoke in a tiny room. We were told the doors would open at 7:15. Doors didn't open until 7:50. So you're waiting inside a crowded arcade in a tiny spot between games. This show would be great with little kids for real. Not something that stands up to the other shows in the area. The jokes are definitely geared towards children. It takes way too long to get through a trick. The show is in a quaint theatre, located in the arcade at the base of the Gatlinburg Space Needle. The show is up close magic with mentalsim and comedy. An amazing show! Deserves its #1 rating. Eric does both sleight of hand and mentalist magic. All of it is really impressive and hours later we are still trying to figure out how he did everything. This is a smaller theater (about 100 seats ) so I would recommend advanced tickets. The smaller theater makes the magic seem more real and many of audience members get to be on stage. So good we will see it again next time we are in town, I wish I could give it more than five stars! read more

I have just returned from a working vacation where I popped through Gatlinburg for the first time. A Google search turned up Impossibilities at The Iris Theater and I picked up tickets for the family. All four of us (ages 17 to 48) thought it was a riot, and Erik really brings the show. It's comedic mind-reading at it's best. Magic (and mentalism) is ALWAYS best experienced LIVE! It was entertaining. I would say it was more of a comedy show instead of a magic show. Each act took at least 10 minutes and was drug out far too long. The opening act (I won't give it away) I had seen my ex boyfriend so MANY times. It wasn't very complex. I guess I had higher hopes and was a little disappointed with he simplicity of it all for the price. If you have younger kids, this would probably be great for them as many of the tricks are just basic magic that they may not have seen.
