Omg! We're already talking about what to order on our next visit…read more Had an early dinner (by local standards) at 6:30pm on a rainy Friday night. We were seated right away without a reservation. Loved the decor and the casual, intimate atmosphere. We tried the sashimi, vegetable gyoza, salmon don, wagyu beef, seafood fried rice, and finished with the chocolate cake for dessert. Everything was delicious. If I had to offer a critique, I'd say the wagyu was just okay--not bad, just okay. Deep respect to the kitchen for executing such a comprehensive menu. The consistency shines through not just in the high-ticket items but also in the staples like gyoza and fried rice.

You can scan the QR code to pull up the menu. It was in both Spanish and English. The menu was extensive, a little something for everyone. There was ramen, rice bowl, udon, sushi, sashimi, shabu, maki, nigiri, etc.   I tried the maguro mix don that had chu-toro, o-toro, and akami on top of white rice. This was a perfectly balanced meal. A good fatty texture on the sashimi. Rice to fish ratio was also good. It was refreshing from all the food we've been eating in CDMX. We all enjoyed our don and ramen.   Service was a bit slow regarding when our food came out but they brought out everyone's food at the same time. The restroom was clean as well. The indoor seating looks spacious. Overall, we enjoyed our meal here and would recommend this spot if you're looking for Japanese food in the Roma Norte area.

I had the good fortune to visit with my cuñados. We basically did the feed me, where the chef just keeps going until you tell him to stop. It was incredible! We basically did a tuna tour with 7 different tuna nigiris from the top to the belly of the tuna - each one absolutely excellent. At the start, the chef asked us about preferences and when I mentioned that I like wasabi, he told me there would be none - and there was no need for any. The nigiri construction was simply art - lots of very subtle flavors that just made each one excellent. Most of the time, I had no idea what it was, even though I was watching him construct them. He suggested that I use my hands and eat them with the protein side on my tongue - incredible. We also had one with foie gras and one with black truffle - both were good, but frankly, just their normal fare did right by me. The nigiris were about 100 pesos for the normal stuff up to 200 for the toro (~$5-$10), a fantastic value. If you have any affinity for Japanese food, you need to try this place - it totally rocks!

Sushi Iwashi in Mexico City is a must-visit!…read more My favorite bite was the oyster, incredibly fresh and flavorful. The hand rolls were insane, and the sashimi was honestly the freshest I've ever tasted. The nigiri options were endless, and each one was chefs kiss. I loved the omakase style, which allowed the chefs to guide us through a delicious journey. We paired everything with sake and vino, which perfectly set the vibe. The service was impeccable, the chefs made us feel so welcome and recommended all the best bites, while the servers were super attentive. Can't wait to go back! P.s they have a spot at the airport too, so if you don't get a chance to try it in the city don't miss out at the airport!

Our server recommended a few options for us after finding out it was our first time there and that we were traveling in from out of town. They were solid recommendations and we really enjoyed our fresh air dining experience out on their patio. The prices were relatively high, but it somewhat follows the high class area that we were in, but not a cheap meal by any means. It was a fancy splurge. The one thing that we didn't like was a lot of the specialty dishes were very mayonnaise-centric. Another roll we tried was very buttery, since it had clarified butter spread across the top, so it gave it this sort of movie-theater popcorn after taste. So those items weren't our favorite, but the traditional nigiri sushi and sashimi were well prepared and delicious!

First off, the site is beautiful and very well designed. Modern with a Japanese and slightly Mexican feel. Sitting at the counter, the service was amazing and super attentive. Drinks were great ...lychee martini and a very interesting / delicious vodka soda. Dinner at the counter..with lots of torch action..was a tiger roll with delicious shrimp and a crazy good sauce. Same for the asado edamame. Even the salad rocked !!! This place is off the hook and wish they were in S.F..
