Stumbled across Ryoshi because we were craving sushi, and what a lucky find it was. Service was fantastic from start to finish. Cool vibes, and a simple but fancy-esque atmosphere. We sat at the sushi bar which was cool because we got to see the sushi chefs at work. I got a crab handroll which was a perfect plate and tasted fresh. The ambiance of this restaurant was beautiful. I tried it on my trip to Mexico City, and I really think you should try it on your trip. I would recommend getting a seat in front of the sushi chefs who are making the rolls. Best seat in the house! The sushi was amazing to me. We started off with the crispy brussel sprouts which were really tasty. I love brussel sprouts, so this was easily a good choice for me. The short rib gyoza was really good too. It tasted just like short rib meat, and they were succulent and juicy too. The sauce on top was really good as well. The tiger roll and the spider roll were really good choices for the makis. I came here after a long day of traveling, and the staff was really kind and accommodating with helping me get a spot at the bar despite not having a reservation I will say that the service was slightly slower despite it not being a very busy night I'm not sure if this was because I was a walk-in, but the sushi was still prepared deliciously and I really enjoyed it. This is probably the best Japanese spot in the Polanco neighborhood. I recommend the dining room in the back versus the one facing Avenida Masaryk. The vibe is more intimate. The seafood is fresh and delicious. The gyoza are a must, both the shrimp and short rib. Same goes for the grilled edamame. The service is spot on, but can be overwhelming at times. The house sake is Mexican and quite good. Not too sweet, not too dry. On Tuesdays, they do a big tuna carving ceremony with the gong, sparklers, liquid smoke and all. read more

Mexico City is not sanonomiuos with seafood or sushi. As we walked by Ryoshi, we noted a crowded restaurant with people laughing and smiling while enjoying a meal. The inside space was beautifully decorated and yet not overdone. We had made reservations and were seated to order appetizers. We started with the tuna tostadas and beef dumplings. They were delicious. We ordered 5 separate sushi rolls. Unfortunately, I don't recall the name of each roll. I can say that the rolls were flavorful, had good contrasting tastes and were unique. We enjoyed all the rolls and went home full. Our feeling is that Ryoshi was an excellent choice for sushi in Mexico City. I passed by this restaurant at lunchtime and was empty but catch my attention how pretty looks from outside. I was for vacations for first time in Mexico with my family and after a couple days eating Mexican food I need a break with something different, my family and I make a reservation for Friday night and they located us quickly when we arrive with a stroller and a baby of 4 months. The ambiance is beautiful everybody said hello when you arrive and the lights and music are just perfect for enjoy dinner. Our server was super nice and attentive he didn't speak to much English but he try his best and his recommendations was accurate. Food is amazing wagyu was just perfect, rolls are fresh and tasty, cocktails are delicious. We love everything about this place and also the prices are good as a tourist. The bar and chefs are open so you see their creations being made. Then their service is over the top on point! Had a waiter assigned to us and an assistant whose job was to keep table clean and food moving. Food and drinks were all amazing. I'll be honest when I yelped this place I became concerned that prices were not listed. They make you feel welcomed and are attentive to your every need. We started our meal with an order of spicy edamame. They were delicious. The sauce was beyond savory and the spice level was low, considering that I love spicy food. We then moved on to short rib dumplings. Those were beyond delicious. They were covered in a sweet sauce and were crunchy. They totally made my tongue jump for joy. For our main meal, I had a spider roll and yakimeshi (mixed), which was fried rice with meat, shrimp, vegetables and two fried quail eggs. The wife had a tiger roll which was also amazing. To drink we had agua de piedra and a lychee martini. We ended our meal with a sweet dessert of mochi. The ambiance at Ryoshi is nice with dim lighting and open windows. There is music and a bar will that serves great drinks. One thing about Ryoshi is that it earned a six star diamond award. I truly recommend Ryoshi, you will not be disappointed. read more

Short Rib Dumplings - aside from how much sauce was on the plate, these might be the best dumplings I have had. HIGHLY Recommend you will not regret this appetizer. Spicy Tuna Roll - good and filling! They put a healthy amount of Tuna in the roll so well worth the try and a good staple to have on the table! Tiger Roll - This was, fantastic. It can be a mouthful and you may not want too much of this one as it's heavier. However this is a great one to have for the table also! Tuna Flight was tasty, nothing to extra about this one. Rib Eye Ishiyaki - the garlic crisps on top, chefs kiss. This packed a lot of flavor! It is more on the medium side so make sure you tell them if you would like it more well done or less. My friend and I decided to try this place out yesterday and we're not disappointed. We didn't have reservations but they were able to make a table for us. The service was incredible, almost too much for me coming from laid-back California but I can tell the intention was good. We ordered the tuna with corn (not the exact name but it's on the appetizer list), A dish that was kind of like sashimi that the server really recommended, the crispy tuna roll and the Shinjuku roll. Overall everything was excellent except for the Shinjuku roll, it wasn't terrible just underwhelming. Meanwhile the crispy tuna roll was fantastic and so was the sashimi and the appetizer. I'm used to sushi with a little bit more variety though when it comes to fish so that was a little bit of a bummer, but I understand the sea isn't really near here. Walking in, it's dark & fancy with lots of dark wood & exposed brick.. massive sushi bar! Just looking around & they literally have TEN Sushi Chefs behind the bar if you know what I mean. Huge menu with a dozen apps, sashimi platter, bowls & rolls, stuff off the robata grill and main entrees! Wasn't starving so just had short rib stuffed gyoza, hamachi nikkiku (topped with soy yuzu & serrano tempura) and a tiger roll. Everything was very flavorful & perfectly executed! Service is impeccable & the older manager guy definitely made sure I was well taken care of all night. Extensive dessert list to finish it off and you're ready for bed, they said.
