Dr. Downs is simply the best. I just finished having thousands of dollars worth of dental repair and restoration done, and I'm very happy with the treatment and the results. My teeth are in good health now, and my smile is SO much prettier! The work was needed to replace old crowns, right in the front, that were almost 40 years old. Decay had started to develop underneath, not surprising after so many years, so they had to go. Yikes! The old crowns were the best of their time, but over the years that grey line at the top, where the old type crowns met the underlying metal, seemed more and more visible. I was embarrassed by that unattractive line, but figured I just had to live with it. Well, no more! There is no line at all now! In addition, my teeth were pretty crooked. I was completely used to this, as they had been crooked all my life. Well, with the new technology Dr. Downs used, my teeth are now straight and really beautiful! I told the teen girls in my church (almost all of them in braces), that these were my three-hour braces! They said that was cheating! Anyway, all that to say that I am really happy with Dr. Downs' work. All of the staff have been lovely to work with too, and very encouraging. I can't say enough great things about the Dentist's and the staff at Le Downs. I had a dental emergency, and not only did they squeeze me in at the last minute but they where extremely understanding and caring to my problem. After rushing me in they took x-rays to examine what was causing the problem and then immediately went to work to remove my pain and correct the situation. When the crisis was averted they then sat down with me to discuss a plan to get my teeth back on track to a much healthier and happier oral regiment. The staff and Dr. Downs were all very nice and gentle. I really appreciated the panoramic X-Ray procedure. It was so quick and painless. I hate those bite wings that dig into the gums. Dr. Downs took a video of my teeth and showed it to me, going over each tooth and covering any concerns. I had never seen my teeth from a dentist's point of view before. No one tried to sell me all sorts of extra procedures, mouth guards etc. like some dentists do. Bottom line: the equipment was state of the art, the people were competent and welcoming and Dr. Downs explained everything to me and my 8 year old daughter, who also had a check up, in terms that we easily understood. I had a crown come loose over the weekend. I recently also had a hip replacement, and anytime a joint is replaced, there is a threat that bacteria from a dental procedure can enter the bloodstream and infect the new artificial joint. Dr. Downs saw me immediately, assured me that my particular circumstance posed no such threat, and then promptly recemented my crown. I appreciate very deeply his flexibility and willingness to get me in his office on such short notice. Le Downs Dentistry is an awesome place, with great doctors and dental technicians. Dorrie took real good care of Marcie (my Mom) at yesterday's appointment. Mom was relaxed and very much at ease while her teeth were examined and cleaned. When Dr. Downs came in to check things out, Mom, as usual, lit up like a menorah on the 8th night of Chanukkah. You folks have been patient and understanding in dealing with Mom, particularly since she had her stroke. I, as her son and caregiver, really appreciate the way you work with me on scheduling her appointments. I am always impressed with the high end equipment used at this dental office. You backstop good equipment with friendly people it just makes what I don't really like to do (go to the dentist) more enjoyable. Today I had Jennifer (Jenny) working on my teeth. It was the first time I had been introduced to her. She was very good, quick at doing the cleaning and an overall joy to talk with.
