Cheap bread! Although this place sells regular priced bread and is considered a "distribution center," it also sells damaged or day old bread for cheap. It's not just breads, but pastries and donuts and whatever else Nickles is cooking up. They made small pies for awhile as well as individual Little Debbie type snacks. (Though I'm not a big fan of those types snacks.) I'm pretty sure everyone in Navarre, OH knows that it's there. Not sure how many people in Massillon knows though. read more

I LOVE THIS PLACE!!!! Well the outlet store is fantastic.It's almost out of massillon heading into navarre on 21, but totally worth it. They sell regular priced breads but the day old is just as good and almost all of it's 1/3 or 1/2 priced as what you would find in the grocery store. We go through about 7 loaves a week (big family) and I buy two weeks worth at a time(stick it in the freezer and pull out as needed). I don't even spend $10 when I go in there. Plus I usually pick up some of the snack cakes or pies or whatever they have for the kids. It's fantastic. Also for every $5 you spend they stamp a little card and when it's full you get a free day old product. In case your wondering I've seen people using foodstamps there so you can shop there if you have those or even if you don't. Their parking lot is huge to so you can always find a space. read more

This is for Nickles Bakery Thrift Store Outlet, same address. Nickles Bakery is a commercial baker that has become an institution here in NE Ohio. They bake under their own name, as well as providing many "private label products" to a number of larger grocers in the market. At this thrift store you will find their regular fresh bread here along with day-old varieties of bread, pastries, sweet rolls, etc. The fresh bread is discounted, but near their typical retail price. The "overstock" or day old is a particularly good value at usually anywhere 50% or more off of the everyday price. Over runs have a very low price, so at a typical .50 or .75 per loaf pricing, your savings can add up pretty quickly. In addition they have a frequent buyer reward card that after you buy x number of items, you can choose a day old item for free. When I go, I usually buy bread, buns, etc for the week, plus any "steal deals" that I can take home and freeze for use sometime later. Often, $2.00 to $4.00 of my total purchases will be for some sweet rolls for breakfast entertaining. The variety of items varies by what over runs or day old returns they have from stores. But the usual savings for me is usually 50% or just slightly less. So $20 worth of bread, etc....$10.00 Net Cost. I plan a stop here when I am in the area to maximize savings. For the past nine years I have had the true love in having the availability of Nickles Flax Bread, first acquiring it at the Nickles Outlet Store on Highway 62 in Canton near the poultry processing plant and when that establishment closed, I relinguished to the Massillon Outlet Store. I have purchased Flax bread mainly because it is extremely beneficial to anyone who is concerned for their colon. Flax seed and material acts as a cleansing agent in the colon. Plus the omega - 3 oild in flaxseed or flaxmeal is beneficial for the heart in the prevention of heart decease and/or strokes. Yet now with Nickles no longer producing my favorite bread, I have had to look elsewhere for my main staple morning product. Instead of purchasing 10 - 12 loaves at the outlet store; I need to go elsewhere. I am a believer in supporting my home state of record of home county and as in this case is Stark County, Ohio and yet Flax Bread is not long available. Therefore I just processing mt Master Card credit card for twelve loaves of Flaxbread from a facility outside Providence, Rhode Island and it will be shipped to me. WHY DO COMPANIES try to fix what is not broken? No longer will I support Nickles or a Stark County business enterprise for my bread, I must support Providence Rhode Island.
