My husband and I spoke with a few planners at the beginning, and Lauren stood out immediately. What made her different was not just her taste or her connections, which she has in abundance. It was how deeply she got us. From the very beginning, it was clear that she genuinely cares about making a wedding feel like the couple, their relationship, and their families, not like a recycled version of the same wedding-industry template. One of the greatest gifts Lauren gave me was permission. She made me feel like I did not have to do things the "right" or traditional way as a bride. Instead, she helped us imagine something personal, specific, and very us, and then actually made it happen. I am not a Type A person, and she was incredible at meeting me where I was. She kept us moving, tracked me down for the decisions that mattered, stepped in when I hit total decision overload, and somehow made the entire process feel manageable. Every single person she connected us with felt intentional. They felt like people who deeply understood what we were trying to create and cared just as much as we did. That showed up in every part of our wedding weekend. I basically came in with a Pinterest board and a vibe, and she did not just nail it, she hit it out of the park. Her team fully organized our Xochimilco boat day for guests, including transportation, food, drinks, and all of the logistics, and it went so seamlessly. Our DJ somehow took all of my favorite songs and Latin-afied them, mixing cumbia into everything. Our florist absolutely blew me away. And my hair and makeup artist ended up feeling like a best friend on the wedding day, which says everything about the kind of people Lauren brings into the process. Honestly, one of the best decisions I made was giving all of them the room to create. At one point during planning, I remember thinking, "This wedding needs a bit of my weirdness." Lauren offered up the idea of having two ballet dancers in Cirque du Soleil-style costumes come out after dinner to hype everyone up and get them to the dance floor. It was unforgettable and exactly the kind of unexpected magic we wanted. And beyond all of that, while you hope a crisis never happens on your wedding day, Lauren is exactly the person you want there if one does. During our wedding, my grandpa fell, and it was a devastating moment for me. Lauren immediately had the situation under control. She coordinated everything seamlessly, made sure my grandparents had translation support at the hospital, helped me emotionally regroup, and somehow kept the night from falling apart. We were asking for a lot (an "intimate" backyard ceremony of 100+, a loud public procession in a busy city, shuttles to get our guests to the reception, food + drink + florals + extra bathrooms + DJs at both venues, a seamless experience for our guests throughout) - all within 3 months. When we met with Lauren, she immediately understood us as individuals, our intentions in how we wanted our loved ones to feel, the spirit of getting blessings in our home and celebrating the city we live in. It was special to feel understood in that way before she got to work in her direct and efficient style. It required zero effort to translate the look and feel we were hoping for to Lauren. She has a phenomenal expertise in design and styling, which made it an easy collaboration, and we trusted every decision she made throughout the process. You can tell that Lauren lives her live as consciously as possible in how she plans - staying away from disposable material, not encouraging waste (in an industry that welcomes over the top waste, this brought us comfort), suggesting permanent options for furniture and flowers since we were hosting part of the day at home, choosing vendors that have similar ethos - her choices are intentional, yet she has a very light touch. On the actual wedding day, Lauren was a joy to watch. She oversaw the execution of every last detail, checked in to make sure we (and our families) had our needs met in a calm, non-invasive way. I hired Lauren to help with our CDMX ceremony - specifically venue selection. From the beginning I told her I expected the ceremony to be small, but she assured me that she works with small ceremonies/elopement clients. During our very first email exchange, I told her my venue selection criteria and what I wanted my special day to look like. For the next 3 months she then regularly asked me to repeat my venue criteria and then only recommended 1 venue. She then told me I should contact the venue myself to work out details. Within the first email exchange with the venue (the one she personally recommended and claimed to know very well), I find out they do not hold any events there. None. A small detail that could have been confirmed with basic due diligence. They also were never informed by Lauren that we were looking to hold a ceremony there. She wasn't upfront with me or the vendor. To put it generously, this is not forthcoming to either party and puts into question .... A lot. That said, I get that as a wedding planner you most likely don't prioritize your small events. However, once cash is exchanged there is a basic level of service that is expected i.e. providing your expertise and knowledge to recommend venue and vendors based upon your specifications. She seemed to have decided early on to do the bare minimum and it showed. read more

Nick absolutely KILLED the dance party at our wedding (and all the music for our big day, in fact... ceremony tunes, dinner playlist, etc.) We gave him full reign to add or nix any music from our long playlist of inspiration songs that we would have loved to hear... and told him if any of it didn't fit, he had full permission to take the music in whatever direction he had to in order to get people on the dance floor. Boy, did he deliver! For a small wedding, we had a solid group on the dance floor the ENTIRE night, and didn't want him to stop playing when the party was finally over! Nick was also a pleasure to work with from the beginning. He took a difficult Hebrew song for our mother/son dance that we needed cut in a specific way, and mixed it so beautifully that you wouldn't have even known it was edited. When my wife and I zoomed with him prior to our wedding, his personality was kind, calm, and down to earth. He was so accommodating and helpful in helping us nail down our music choices. He was so mindful of the volume, as I am sensitive to very high volumes, and approached us at the beginning of wedding day to tell us that he was staying incredibly aware of the volume all night, but to simply let him know if we needed anything turned down. I don't even know where to start. Lauren is simply THE BEST. Everything from her eye for design, incredibly quick responses to emails, kind and calming nature, stellar recommendations for absolutely anything you ask for outside of your wedding day itself (mini-moon spots, activities for you and your guests throughout the weekend...) My (now) wife and I decided we wanted to get married in Mexico but we really had no idea where to start. The natural first step was to find a wedding a planner. We spoke with about five planners, including Lauren. After the conversation it was immediately obvious to us that we wanted to get married in Sayulita and that we had to work with her. What first stood out to us about Lauren was her impeccable eye for design. Just looking through her portfolio and social media accounts it was clear to us that she was a master at her craft and her style was exactly what we were looking for. She also had a relaxed but confident approach to weddings, which we found calming and reassuring. We booked her before we picked a wedding date or even thought about a venue. Lauren blew us away over the course of the year that we worked with her. She took the time to understand our vision for the wedding, our budget, took the lead on the design of the wedding, and executed perfectly! She was incredibly trustworthy and always gave her honest opinion on every aspect of the process, which we were incredibly grateful for given the difficulties of planning a wedding largely sight unseen. She also had an amazing network of vendors which made the entire process very seamless. We booked our photographer, florist, DJ and caterer through Lauren, all of which were absolutely fantastic. In addition, Lauren was able to get us every wedding detail that we asked for. For example, we really liked some chairs that we saw in another planner's portfolio and Lauren was able to get those for us. She was also incredibly easy to communicate with and always responded to emails quickly and was always willing to hop on a call. The day of the actual wedding went by without hitch and it is all thanks to Lauren. Many of our friends and family even made a point to tell us how unbelievably well executed the entire wedding was. I'm just coming down off the high of my 50th Birthday Celebration last month that was everything that I had hoped for, thanks in part to the detailed event planning and design that Lauren provided! He was referred to us by our wedding planner and after reviewing his site and having a phone call with him we knew he would be the DJ for our wedding. He was extremely easy to work with! In the beginning stages of our planning, we met with Lauren to discuss the concept and style of wedding we were imagining. We were planning an outdoor wedding on a property with little infrastructure. We wanted a blend of elegant and rustic. She guided us in focusing our ideas and worked with us to develop a style that felt unique to us as a couple and fitting for the location. Throughout the planning process Lauren was extremely organized and responsive to any questions and concerns we had. She is very creative and was skilled at working within our budget. In fact, she found numbers of bargain deals on decorative items and ended up saving us money. The style and details that she added to our wedding made it the event we had imagined. My husband and I are music lovers and dancers. One of the aspects of our wedding that we poured a lot of energy into was the dance party. It was perfect that we could work with Nick and Lauren not only on the design but also the music. Nick is definitely not your "traditional" wedding DJ. This is a great thing for folks who want something besides classic wedding songs played. While he is certainly willing to play whatever you ask him to, his eclectic blend of funk, latin, dancehall, hip hop, etc. kept the dance party going into the wee hours. He also set up a playlist for our cocktail hour and dinner that was an amazing blend of our favorite jazz, bossa nova, and indie tunes. He did an excellent job of customizing the music to our taste. We have zero skills in the design area and didn't really have a grand vision for what we wanted the wedding to look like, so Lauren really guided us through the process to arrive at something we loved. She helped us blend our Jewish and Chinese backgrounds and designed something that was so elegant yet simple which is exactly what we wanted. I don't think this ever happens but 1. the wedding went absolutely perfectly, I don't know of a single thing that went wrong and 2. I had absolutely nothing to do for two entire weeks before the wedding due to Lauren being so on top of things. It was a very odd feeling but it meant that I was able to spend time with family the week beforehand and not worry about a single detail. Working with Lauren is incredibly easy, she was happy to flex to our preferences (using Google docs, etc) was really prompt, very organized and just adds calm to the experience wherever she can. We knew we wanted to get married in Sayulita before we had ever even been there, but knew we would need a coordinator to set things up and hold our hands through the process. Lauren was the perfect fit for us! From our first conversation with her we knew she would be easy to work with and would execute our vision. She has fantastic attention to detail and helped us keep to our budget. People kept asking how we were handling the stress of wedding planning and we kept saying "what stress? Our coordinator is amazing!" Having help with design was incredible too. We wanted to have a wedding that embraced the vibrant culture of Mexico, and she kept every detail as local as possible. She is a true professional with a really fun spirit. I can't say enough good things about her! This review would be too long! Pretty much our top priority for our wedding was a kick ass dance party, and Nick executed that dream perfectly. We sent him a playlist of our style and told him to make any additions he saw fit, and he made it even better than we could have imagined. We had a pretty eclectic mix including some Latin music to get our Peruvian family dancing, and he helped us keep the dance floor occupied the whole night. I know a lot of people try and save money by not hiring coordinators and DJs, but I will tell you this team is absolutely worth every penny. We of course expected attention to detail, but they took it to the next level by providing an experience that perfectly complimented our tastes and occasion. This dynamic duo is best in class and absolutely KILLED it on my wedding day. With five weeks to go, I had to relocate my wedding and get an entirely new coordinator. In came Lauren, who grasped my entire concept after one call, and delivered the perfect wedding. I am super picky, especially when it comes to something that is going to represent me, but I honestly was able to lay back and let Lauren do all the work. She was in constant communication with me and I never felt like I was out of the loop or things were slipping through the cracks. She made it so that I was never stressed out about little details - she fully handled every little detail with my vendors and allowed me to enjoy the weekend. We placed our complete trust in Lauren and through her "chill but competent" leadership delivered a wedding beyond our wildest dreams. I cannot say enough about Lauren and Nick. Lauren seamlessly executed my design vision for both my welcome party and my wedding. She was extremely responsive, organized and helpful through the entire planning process, making sure that we were on track with budget, rentals and everything in-between. I really relied on her for design expertise and she pulled through each time! When I finally met Lauren in person, I was as if I had known her forever! She is so nice and calm! The day of both evens I cried after I saw my tables, lounge area, flowers and every single detail. I could tell she put so much thought and care into the design and really cared. (Or any design magazine for that matter) But more importantly, along with orchestrating beautiful events that pictures can capture, they create experiences that you will cherish.
