He is professional, listens to your concerns, and helps develop of plan of care WITH your input. I've now been getting allergy shots at the clinic weekly with Jay, RN and he is also fabulous! He is super friendly and takes great care of all the patients. Definitely recommend coming here for the allergy clinic!! As for the ophthalmologist I saw, he was not friendly and dismissed my concerns. He almost laughed them off to be honest. I haven't felt that disrespected in a while. Wouldn't recommend.

The care of the patient I was visiting seemed friendly and caring, tending to her pain level needs sensitively. She did have one nurse that she thought was insensitive to her needs and talked to her in a condescending tone. The last straw was when she was made to feel like it her fault that she fell (patient is a fall risk), so she ended up requesting a new nurse and all was great after that.

The amount of miscommunication we experienced during our stay was outstanding. I came into the hospital 2 days early to have my care coordinated due to a high risk pregnancy and we didn't see any specialists during that time despite asking/reminding nurses and doctors . We didn't speak with anyone about the delivery "game plan" until the morning of so it felt like my extra two day stay was completely unnecessary. Additionally, I experienced a post delivery emergency and was sent down to get an MRI and CT without a gown and with medical patches on and that seemed to greatly irritate the MRI tech. Whenever I had a question I was directed to a specialist (obgyn, neurologist, anesthesiologist, etc.) that would then direct me back to the person I originally asked the question to. And my final complaint is that all the lactation consultants gave me conflicting information. Overall my stay felt sloppy and uncoordinated. I didn't feel very confident about the care received and the billing that followed was equally as disorganized. In comparison to an earlier stay I had a sharp memorial, the experience was night and day. I would avoid UCSD if at all possible moving forward. Sharp care was very organized and much more professional.

I have a very serious Medical Condition and I as prescribed this Blood Thinner Medication called Xarelto to be taken @ 20 Milligrams once a day and I needed it ti be taken at night with my dinner meal. I started taking Xarelto @ 20 Milligrams, once a day in the evening with my dinner meal. The Emergency Room Physician who prescribed this Xarelto Medicine on (the date of service) was on Tuesday, June 30, 2026, sometime in the afternoon. Then I drove myself back to my home . It has been about 2 days later, the date was on (Thursday, July 2, 2026), when I started to receive an Allergic Reaction to taking this prescription medication called Xarelto @ 20 Milligrams. It I broke out in Hives . These areas on my body that I have a received these Hives are on my left side on my Neck, I have 2 big rashes, on my left arm above my elbow, This rash is a splotchy rash, another rash located on the front side of my leg where my DVT or Blood Clot is located on my right leg. I also have a lot of hives on the back of my right leg where my Blood Clot is located now. I have sensitive skin all over my body so this Rash has caused me to feel excessive pain and itchiness. I will take photos of the Hives (Rash) that caused me to have this Allergic Reaction. I also was experiencing light headiness, my blood pressure was at a much higher level than it usually is at low blood pressure, and I was having a difficult time swallowing, and my tongue was red and my tongue felt swollen and it was sore. When I called and spoke to Candace this Registered Nurse from the Sharp Advice Line Call Center. Candace said for me to call the 911 Emergency Dispatcher Phone Number ASAP because Candace said my symptoms showed that I was experiencing Anaphylactic Shock from getting an Allergic Reaction from being Prescribed this bottle of Xarelto Blood Thinner at 20 Milligrams. Candace said that I need to call the Falk Ambulance to pick me up at my house immediately. I called 911 Emergency Dispatcher 508 at 2:45 AM. I explained to him that I needed an Falk Ambulance to pick me up at my house immediately because I was feeling sick. The Dispatcher dispatched out their Falk Ambulance and they arrived at my house within 20 minutes. It was very dark outside because it was very late and I was picked up at very early in the morning. I sitting upright on the couch in the living room waiting for their 2 Paramedics and they're 4 Firefighters from Fire Station Number 19 arrived at my house. This Fire Captain was asking me to tell him my Name, Date of Birth, my Home Address, and he asked my Age and he asked me, What Medical Insurance I have now? After I answered all of these 5 Questions, then the Fire Captain typed all of my answers into his large size IPad. Afterwards, Gabe asked me What is my Preferred Hospital I want to be transported to? I said I want to be transported to Sharp Memorial Hospital in Claremont, CA. Gabe said that's fine with him. The cons were that it was taking the Falk Ambulance Truck a long time to arrive at my house. It took this Ambulance about a 20 minutes drive to arrive at my house . There was no card on the street because it was almost 3 AM when they arrived at my house to pick me up. I'll Once these 4 Firemen and 2 Emergency Personnel backed up their Ambulance in reverse. It still was taking the ambulance driver too long to walk inside into my house. It took them an Additional 15 minutes to get organized and to have the necessary equipment to treat my Anaphylactic Shock condition. This man 911 Dispatcher was very caring and he stayed on the phone with me until these 4 Firemen and 2 Emergency Personnel finally walked into the front door. Then he said he will hang up now. It took about 15 Minutes for me to be assigned a room with a bed. I was assigned to Room 6 A. This Room was average size. The Sharp Memorial Hospital wasn't very busy because I arrived at 3 AM in the morning. I was serviced by these 2 different Technicians people. Two nice guys brought me warm blankets to my room. My Blood Pressure was re-checked by Olivia the Registered Nurse. Olivia said my Blood Pressure decreased a lot after I left the Ambulance. My Blood Pressure was at a normal level. Olivia said my Heart was operating at a good rate. I asked Olivia , can she bring me some snacks? Olivia said NO Because she has to wait for the Doctor to come and examine me first , then Dr. O'Hara and Dr. Bezek will make their decision if they should give me food. Dr. O'Hara ordered another CBC (Complete Blood Count ) ti check everything inside my body to see if every organ is working properly. This lab woman came into my room and she told me she had good news for me. The Lab lady said she will be extracting 5 tubes of my blood using these small thin Butterfiy Needles. Then I said that is good for me to hear.

INDEED, they immediately took care of 2 of 3 of my Problems, which I had hoped for. ER DOC Buckley and Hospital Doc Doctor DAN ZHENG took very, very good care of me. When I was admitted to the hospital, Nurses SAM and YAEL, and Alyssa also were there and supportive. FOOD SERVICES provided great food from the start, Ravioli with Cheese. Breakfast was Eggs, Pancakes and Bacon. My NURSE, gave me a Diet COKE!!! I also have to say something about the OBSERVATION ROOM, very nice and roomy, AND DECORATIVE. PT Kelsey came to see me in my room and ordered a smaller, collapsible walker for my apartment. In the NEW ROOM on the NEXT DAY, they performed lots of different tests. FURTHERMORE, I was able to do some walking around the 5th Floor, with the help of Nurse Assistant ASHEWA. I would say that Nurse BRIAnA, could use some tips on bedside manners, THOUGH!!! On my Second or Third Night, NURSES Anna and Wilma were both back to help me, THANK GOODNESS!!! I especially want to thank Wilma, for her help with my Shower. UNFORTUNATELY, Nurse 'BRI' Brianna showed up the next day as well. I felt that did everything she could ( or actively worked against the needs of the patient/ME), to make my stay AS UNPLEASANT AND AS UNCOMFORTABLE, as possible. It just may be her NURSING NATURE, which is sad for her, and SHARP!!! I had a fantastic experience with my MRI, once getting there. I want to give a shout out to the whole team of GABRIEL, SEAN, and DOMINIQUE!!! I have a bad back and doing these things can be painful, but they provided a Triangular Wedge for my legs. In addition, they provided a pillow for my neck. I'm now 1 THING/treatment away from going HOME, but of course I'm in the hands of Nurse Bri. I can't say CHARGE NURSE HEATHER, has been a stand up Charge Nurse. On my last night, it was a whole new world with a whole new staff', including RN CONNOR, NAWIT AND CHARGE RN SHANNON. From how he treated my bloody nose or how he dispensed medication. THEN, during my shower, CONNOR changed the sheets on my bed for the first time. MY PINK HAIRED NURSE Rhiannon saw to it that my discharge went as flawless as possible, coordinating with my doctor and transportation!!! Thanks to ALMOST EVERYONE ON 6 NORTH!!!

From the minute we brought our friend in the ER wing for a severe migraine headache, to the last call to come and pick her up, the nurses and orderlies were most personable and efficient. The doctor on call (Dr. Wang) seemed confident that he could help our friend and after a series of questions and specific behaviors that he observed, he recommended a "infusion cocktail" that would take a few hours to perform. After a total of 4 hours, and lots of warm blankets, making sure our friend was comfortably lying down, and ice water (for me) we were able to pick her up and take her back home - headache free. My husband and I have taken family and friends to the ER for years and to my recollection, this was the fastest-in and fastest-out with success that we can remember. We also wanted to give a high-five to "Keisha" Logan and "Kaiwai" = It takes a great team to run a hospital!"

Upon arrival, I remained quiet and sat alone in the emergency room. This was my first experience at this particular facility, as I had only visited Scripps Green and Scripps Lajolla. During my ER wait, I felt anxious and apprehensive. The atmosphere in the emergency room was unsettling, reminiscent of a crime scene. A security guard wielded a long red stick, threatening to strike a homeless individual who refused to comply. The homeless individuals present responded with aggressive behavior, including yelling and screaming. After approximately one hour, I was summoned back to the hospital. The only available bed was located in the hallway, not in a private room. I endured a two-hour wait before receiving a CT scan. The CT scan technicians were unprofessional and sarcastic, giving rude looks, exhibiting a lack of courtesy and respect. Furthermore, four male nurses or staff members stationed at the entrance to the registration area engaged in inappropriate behavior, cursing and acting in a manner that belied their professional roles. Many of the nurses walked the hallways with egregious attitudes. NEver seen four of the female nurses act this way, I really was asking myself. ..Why am I still here in this ER and not driving myself to Scripps La Jolla, or green hospital. I Simply asked one of the nurses where the nearest restroom was..she gave me a go to hell look and walked right past me, not even answering me. In contrast, my attending physician, Dr. Katherine Ross M.D., was exceptionally pleasant and attentive. I had no complaints about her bedside manner. I am scheduled to undergo surgery at this hospital in the near future, but I have decided to cancel the appointment. I intend to seek care at a safer hospital where I feel secure and where professional medical staff conduct themselves with professionalism and respect. I will thoroughly review my medical bill with my insurance provider to ensure that I am not overcharged. While I appreciate my surgeon's expertise, I will not undergo surgery in an environment that induces fear and discomfort. I strongly advise individuals considering this hospital to exercise caution and explore alternative options. I have great insurance. I am not going to be paying to be treated like a piece of Garbage, to be scared and frightened in a ER. UCSD Hospital, Scripps Lajolla, and Scripps Green are all safer alternatives. Only.
