If I could give Dr. Williams Wayne 0 stars I would! I came to her as a referral, had I checked Yelp I would have never. First off she has terrible bedside manner and speaking to her was like talking to a brick wall! Dr Williams Wayne lacks manners, compassion and empathy! Dr. Williams will send out tons of referrals with no guidance on what to do or who to call. Dr Williams will also NEVER respond to an email so if you're expecting communication you won't get it from her, better off asking GOOGLE. My parents have been seeing Dr. Laura for years and have been very happy with her. So in moving her I thought it would be smart to see her as well. First visit today snd first impressions were great! First impressions of the office - clean, well run and most importantly easy to park along with great service! As it was my "welcome visit", met with the nurse practitioner/PA. At first I was a little worried as she mentioned our time was short but she did take the time to go over everything with me. (Probably didn't help that I initially said I was expecting Dr. Laura!). At the end Dr Laura came by for a quick hello. The visit went like clockwork! Happy to have made the connection and looking forward to a new lifelong health partner. read more

I had a great first experience here it's been up and down since. I absolutely love the online system where I can see all my records. And the Dr is quick to reply to emails. When I've been ill I was able to be seen very quickly, and they proactively helped me with breathing problems that were mysteriously causing annual illness. But they're a bit hyper vigilant for me. For instance they insist on an annual pap, but I am extremely low risk and should only need this invasive procedure every three years. They're also adamant about annual mammograms but again, I have no risk factors (beyond breasts) and the general recommendation is every 3-5 years (I'm weighing the risk of radiation exposure against my risk of cancer). At my annual I wanted to discuss my actual problems such as knee and joint pain, and skin problems. They focused instead on my breasts and pelvis, which don't give me any trouble (and they need bigger gowns! It was like wearing a paper towel and my entire lower half was exposed. Next year I'm bringing my own robe for sure). When I tried to ask some questions about sexual stuff it seemed awkward and I felt ashamed. I don't feel super well heard when I try to advocate for myself. Sometimes the doctor seems in a rush, but all doctors are nowadays. I had an issue with some pain that the NP couldn't figure out at all. Luckily it went away. The nurse has been very nice. They are a little too thorough and a little pushy on some stuff but they get the job done and are close to my house. And the lab is next door. There are always a lot of older folks in the office and I wonder if they're just used to working with people who are sicker or have more risk factors than me. They also can't seem to get my medical records into their system no matter how many times my previous doc sent them over. That's been frustrating because of course patients aren't allowed to have our own medical histories! A word of caution on meds: they won't give me refills on a medication I've been on for fifteen years. Every other doc has given me this, no problem. They've agreed to a 90 day supply but it's hard not to have an automatic refill set up for a med I take daily. Overall I would just say they're fine. If they weren't super close to me, and if finding new docs wasn't such a costly problem, I might try someone else. But for now, this will do for my annuals. read more

I like Dr. Wayne very much. But unfortunately her office staff and the staff that handles referrals (that are actually miles from the doctors office) are very incompetent. In the last few years i have had maybe a dozen or so doctor referrals, labs, scans (MRI, PET, ULTRA, CT) and almost every single time there were pain in the ass issues. like... wrong address, wrong phone numbers, no calls, no paper work, no fax's no e-mails. so many times it would take multiple days and phone calls to get it straightened out. with each side telling a different version. after a while I must conclude that it is my pcp office that is too blame. after so many other offices say they never got the paper work or the call or the e-mail or the fax. my last referral to a specialist claimed they called my doctors office over a dozen times with either no answer or no call back. it took a week of them calling and me calling DR. Wayne's office many times to finally get the necessary paper-work so i could finally schedule an appointment. It is with a heavy heart that today i left (fired) Dr. Laura W. Wayne, for i feel she is a fine and caring doctor. Too bad she doesn't have a reliable, efficient and competent staff to go along with a good doctor. read more

This is the most incompetent doctors office I have ever experienced. EVERY SINGLE TIME I go in there they screw something up. Whether its incorrectly administering my birth control shot, manipulating the codes for treatments so my insurance wouldnt cover it (like calling a urine sample something else), or 'losing' my records. They wouldnt let me get my birth control shot until I did a routine yearly exam with the doctor, kind of ridiculous to hold my birth control hostage but I scheduled an appointment for the exam. The apt comes and I still dont even get to the see Dr. Rogers. At the time of the appointment, the front desk said my appointment was scheduled for the following week, but I put it in my calendar the moment I got off the phone from scheduling it. This is not the first time they have incorrectly scheduled an appointment for me. Luckily they "had an opening".. The nurse said they would call me with the pap smear results and mail me a copy. A month later I hadn't heard anything regarding the results so I finally called and asked. The admin said she had no record of a pap smear that day, only a urine test so I could get my birth control shot. I demanded to speak to the nurse I saw while there and she suddenly had "found my record". Then she tried to make some excuse about how I wasnt being clear about what I was asking for. There is no doubt in my mind they did not in fact even get the testing done and they are going to make up some results to send to me. This has happened COUNTLESS times with this office. The front staff is incapable of simple record keeping and appointment setting. I have encountered at least 3 different front staff members and all of them have been incompetent and frankly rude. I am discouraged that this doctors office is still in business, they should be shut down for malpractice. read more

I really like Dr. Williams Wayne. She is a great doctor. Very attentive and great at listening to concerns. As for the staff, it depends on who you get. I think his name is Luiz is very helpful and easy to work with. It was also very convenient to get labs drawn because there is a Sharp lab in the same building right next door. However, I was seen by the NP multiple times and did feel like my concerns were a little dismissed, but that's nothing on Dr. Williams Wayne. If I wasn't moving I would stay with her! read more

The nurses and staff are really nice, and she has an amazing nurse practitioner, However Dr. Wayne herself is incredibly rude and dismissive towards patients. You do not get the feeling that she cares about you, your life, or any concerns you have. I'm very disappointed in her attitude and bedside manner. Not sure if she doesn't respect any of her patients in general or just the black ones...I would see a different doctor if you are looking for someone warm and understanding because she is not it. read more

Dr. Wayne has been my internist for the past 5 yrs. She is an outstanding practitioner and I would highly recommend her. The office runs very smooth. They actually answer your calls, return your calls, no long hold times and I can typically book a non emergency appointment within the week - and in many cases within a few days. Dr. Wayne is very professional, knowledgeable and businesslike, and while she doesn't waste time, she spends as much time with you as you need. I am generally in and out of her office in under an hour however I have never felt rushed. In five years with Dr. Wayne I have had not a single complaint or concern about Dr. Wayne, referrals to specialists, her staff, billing, ease in obtaining appointments or call backs. How often can you say that in health care in today's climate. 5 stars to Dr. Wayne. She's awesome. read more

My first appointment left a lot to be desired. Because Dr. Wayne constantly interrupted me and dismissed by concerns, I felt that she did not genuinely care about my personal health. Scheduled an in person appointment on Follow My Health...they then sent me a link to a video appointment. Had to cancel that appointment because want in person appointment. Called to change that appointment today then they told me it was a video appointment again. This doctor has a list of sickness that she decides are appropriate for a in person visit. They wont schedule me a visit for head pain, broken toe or throat issues regarding my breathing. They also missed a rescheduling a VERY important mammogram 2 years ago and the only way I found out about it was the radiology department called me. They also sent me another persons file with the same name. I am filing a major complaint with the State Medical Board. This is insane read more

I was very disappointed when I had my first appointment with Jennifer, the Nurse Practitioner. I felt like she didn't hear what I said when she asked questions about my symptoms and health. She tried to order tests that were not appropriate and when I voiced my opinion she became angry and aggressive. She even prescribed an antibiotic that said the severe side effects double after the age of 60 and I'm over 60! I never got to see the doctor and I won't be going back. It was a really bad experience. I've never been treated like that at a doctors office before. Be afraid, be very afraid. read more

Dr Rogers is great, and the office is clean and comfortable. When I get through, they are very prompt with scheduling or answering questions. However, I don't think I've ever called the office for any reason and not been put on hold for a pretty substantial amount of time. I really wish whoever manages the office would do something about this. Literally every time, they say "Could you please hold?" and I just want to say No!! Sometimes it takes so long I have to just hang up. As I write this, I'm actually on hold with them going on 7 plus minutes. read more

I cannot recommend this practice as their office staff are highly incompetent, do not seek to help patients, and make no attempt to make up for mistakes made on their part. I originally made an appointment to get established within their practice so I could receive a referral for a procedure I needed. I show up to the appointment and the front desk tells me everyone has left for the day and she is sorry no one called me to cancel the appointment. When I finally get to reschedule and receive the referral I needed, the doctor assured me they would send the referral to the outside provider. Never sent it. I was also promised that the office would call me to confirm that my insurance was approved at the outside provider. I never heard back from them and when I called them back to confirm, they apologized for no one calling me and yes my insurance was good to go... This was a lie and now I am paying out of pocket for a procedure that I desperately need ASAP and now cannot reschedule with a provider in-network. This office has to get it together and start acting like professionals because people's health, time, and money is at stake. read more

I had a great experience here, which is a nice change from other doctors visit. Right from the start from the nurses assistants at the front counter. They knew their job, understood my medical insurance and explained more about my Coverages and cost then have ever been explained to me before. The nurse in the back was very attentive and had all the appropriate questions for my concerns on my health. The doctor, Dr Laura Rogers, was the best. Very professional. I was able to get almost all my medical needs taken car of in the one visit. I have had some horrible experiences with doctors here in San Diego and have been struggling to find one that was just decent. I hadn't seen a Dr. in a few years due to the fact that I never seem to have a good experience. The lack of care/ concern most Dr.'s seem to have is so discouraging. I booked an emergency appointment and I was able to be seen immediately. I was blown away by how kind everyone was. From the ladies at the front desk-Liz and Rose.. to the nurse- Latayna.. She was very comforting (as I wasn't in the best emotional state), and she made my entire experience there as enjoyable as possible. Dr. Howard was very professional, kind, and thorough. I never once felt uncomfortable or like I was being rushed out of the room. I am so thankful for the entire staff and actually look forward to future visits. read more

Horrible. Uniformed. Waste of time. Made an appointment and asked very specific questions on services provided and the reason for my appointment. After waiting 2 weeks for my appointment Doctor Rogers told me her staff was uninformed and they do not offer the treatment I was scheduled for. Months later, I've disputed the charge with my credit card and made multiple attempts to connect with their billing department. They conveniently outsource their billing to a third party who continues to send me past due billing statements for services not rendered. Dr. Rogers office is the one who submitted the bill after I spoke with their office manager about how their misinformation cost me 2 weeks and delayed my treatment. What a scam and unfortunate way to provide health care services. Went right down the street and received the treatment I needed from Dr. Chambers without any of the excuses or B.S. read more

After the 4 good reviews I read about this office I decided to make this my new home for medical care however, after waiting on hold for 23 minutes finally setting appointment with a very rude receptionist for 2 weeks later ..... ( now 35 min on phone) I figured I'd give it a shot thinking we all have bad days. !!! So I called today to reschedule due to work only to be told I never even had an appointment set. Good thing I didn't take the whole day off to show up for no appointment. A few months ago when I started looking for a new Medical provider I'd stopped in this office just to gets feel for the people and inquire about my insurance , even that day the receptionist was extremely rude as if I were putting her out. I wish I could give a ZERO. Dr. Williams is pleasant enough, but I've been to see her three times and she hasn't had a clue how to help or diagnose my condition in any of these visits. In one instance, she was totally stumped with my condition, despite symptoms that were 100% obvious to a friend who happens to be an ER doctor when we described the condition over the phone. Dr. Williams sent me home with a wait-and-see diagnosis. Our friend demanded that I go back to the office the next day and insist they give me a blood test to measure my creatine levels. The receptionist rolled her eyes when I did as instructed, but begrudgingly agreed. An hour later, Dr. Williams' assistant called to tell me I needed to go to the ER for immediate treatment. I had rhabdomyolysis, resulting from severe muscle strain after a very difficult series of work-outs (all of this reported to Dr. Williams, but apparently she'd never encountered this condition and had no knowledge of it). I never heard from Dr. Williams directly about this. The follow-up calls were all with a PA. My most recent visit consisted of her assistant telling me I really needed to come back for a complete physical, up-selling me for more services as if I was getting a pedicure when I just came in with a swollen and painful toe. When I described this particular problem, the assistant gasped and said something along the lines of 'ick, I'm really grossed out by feet'. Seriously? Maybe pick another profession if you're unable to even look at a pretty basic body part. The last straw came this week when I finally thought 'I probably should get a physical'. Their online appointment system doesn't work at all and their phone line told me I was 8th in line and would need to wait 20 minutes to speak with someone. Good thing it wasn't an emergency. This service and phone system is far worse than the airlines... and that's a very low bar. read more

I switched to Dr. Laura Willams Wayne at the beginning of the year (2020), my first visit was pretty standard. The front of house staff, the nurse and the doctor all made me feel welcomed and comfortable, overall a very down to earth/relatable vibe without sacrificing professionalism. I honestly didn't think I would be back to see Dr. Williams till my next annual exam, but unfortunately in May I started having some neurological and spine issues. I have been so impressed with Dr. Williams and everyone at San Diego Internal Medicine during this whole ordeal. Dealing with a medical issue can be very scary and frustrating, not to mention painful, then add in Covid to the mix and the feelings of anxiety/uncertainty get a bit more intense. Dr. Williams and staff have been so kind, caring, great communicators and easy to work with during this challenging time. I use Follow My Health and always get speedy responses, when I call the office I always get a friendly and helpful human on the other end who gets me the answers I need, or follows up with me later once they have the answers. My FMLA and SDI paperwork got filled out quickly and they had to redo the SDI paperwork because I made a mistake. I let them know I made a mistake and they would have to resubmit paperwork, and I apologized for creating double work for them. I was shocked when they got that paperwork resubmitted within a day and told me not to apologize! Dr. Williams and her staff really care and want to make sure they are doing everything they can to help their patients. I am so glad I switched at the beginning of the year, I truly believe that I would be having a harder time with my current medical issues if I had not switched to such a caring and personal practice. read more

I was without Primary Care for over one year, and had high hopes in this office. I had made an appointment for an annual visit a few month earlier. On the day of the annual, I happen to have a butterfly rash, low-grade fever and fatigue/dizziness for two weeks. Dr Williams failed to address my concerns about this, just telling me to come back in 1-2 weeks "if the rash is still there". A few days later I still had the symptoms, and was told by an online doctor to call my primary care doctor. I left a message on Friday with Dr Williams but apparently they failed to update my record with my correct phone number so I never got a call back. On Sunday, I had to call a Heal doctor as my symptoms did not improve - this doctor then ordered a bunch of labs. These labs were also sent to Dr Williams. With my symptoms still ongoing I was anxious about getting results, but Dr Williams office staff could not tell by me when a nurse or doctor would call me back -- I felt so frustrated I asked them to be placed on hold until someone was available -- they continously said that the nurse and doctor were busy with patients -- I felt that my concerns were not addressed, and I felt the office staff was RUDE - if you have a rash/fever and fatigue for over 2 weeks you would not want to wait a LONG time for results either. On Tuesday I also tried to make another appointment with Dr Williams but would have had to wait until the following Monday to see her - since this was a debilitating issue with unknown etiology I did not wanted to be seen by a nurse practitionner, or wait another 6 days. At this point, I decided to switch to another new Primary care doctor who then ordered all appropriate labs, including follow up for my symptoms of unknown etiolgy. Her name is Dr Vivian Tran, she is at Scripps in Mission Valley, and I am happy I made the switch as I feel that my rash/low grade fever and fatigue will be adequately addressed and investigated. read more

As a patient, at the very least, I expect accurate information from my doctor's office. The PA gave me false information about a procedure, followed by a referral that did not suffice. When I called and asked for a follow-up call from Dr. Laura, one was never received. I called again to let the staff know that I was very unhappy not to have heard from the doctor and still no call. I will be changing my primary care physician immediately. There is a level of respect and due diligence that is owed to your patients. Very disappointed in this office. read more
