She softly chatted with my first bridesmaid while we were still waking up and as we all built energy - she matched our vibe every fun step of the way!! As my sister was getting her make-up done, my (now husband!) and I practiced our first dance and seeing Marissa's real-time reaction to our dance along with our small group of friends was SO. DAMN. FUN. All the while, she continued to flawlessly do hair and make-up! I have to highlight that my sister is typically hesitant to have professional hair and make-up done as she doesn't usually feel like herself. She often requests 'natural' and 'light' make-up, yet stylists typically go heavy - which is normal for photos/the industry. However, Marissa NAILED her make-up and her request and my sister said this was the very first time she'd ever received professional make-up where she genuinely loved her look. She said she felt like she was in her own skin, ~but glam. I loved my hair and make-up on the trial day, yet Marissa worked with me to make it ultimately PERFECT for the day of the wedding. We had lots of rain on our wedding day, and both my hair and make-up held up through all of it!! If you're considering La-Di-Da, Marissa is the best and will bring so much more than just great looks and hair to your day. The only reasoning for 4 stars out of 5 is for the price, it felt quite high per service. The quality was worth it in the end.

This was my first actual appointment with Jade, although I had already gone in for a consultation…read morebeforehand--and that consultation alone already made a strong impression and helped me feel comfortable trusting her with my hair. During the consultation, Jade took her time in a way that immediately stood out. She didn't rush through anything or treat it like a quick overview. Instead, she really listened to what I wanted, asked thoughtful questions, and carefully looked at my hair's current condition and history. What I appreciated most was how honest she was while still being kind--she didn't just tell me what I wanted to hear, she explained what would actually work best for my hair in terms of color results, maintenance, and overall health. She walked me through different possibilities and made sure I understood the reasoning behind her recommendations. By the end of that consultation, I already felt like she had a clear, personalized plan for me, which made me feel confident going into the actual appointment. When I came in for the service, Jade picked up right where we left off. She revisited everything we discussed during the consultation and made sure we were still aligned before starting. I really appreciated that she didn't assume anything--she checked in with me, confirmed the details, and made me feel involved in the process from the very beginning. Throughout the appointment, she was extremely communicative in a calm, natural way. She explained each step as she went--whether she was applying color, adjusting tones, sectioning, or cutting--and always made sure I understood what she was doing and why. It made the entire experience feel very transparent and reassuring. Instead of sitting in silence wondering what was happening, I felt included and informed the whole time. Her attention to detail was one of the most impressive parts. She didn't rush at any stage, even when it took extra time to refine things. With the haircut, she carefully shaped and rechecked sections to make sure everything flowed properly and suited my face shape. With the color, she was very intentional about tone balance and blending, making sure it looked natural, even, and well-integrated rather than patchy or overdone. Even after the main work was done, she continued making small refinements--adjusting little details that most people might not notice but that make a big difference in the final result. What made the experience feel even more special was the way Jade carries herself with genuine warmth. Even though this was my first full appointment with her, she made the environment feel very comfortable and welcoming. It never felt clinical or transactional--it felt personal in a really natural way, like she genuinely cared about how I felt during the process and how I would feel leaving. And at the end of the appointment, when everything was finished and I was fully styled, she gave me a hug. It wasn't rushed or awkward--it felt very genuine and kind, like a small but meaningful moment of connection after the service. That hug honestly made the whole experience feel even more personal and memorable. It gave a sense of warmth and care that went beyond just doing my hair well--it felt like she truly values the people she works with. Leaving the salon, I felt really happy with my hair, but also genuinely taken care of as a person. Even though this was just my first appointment, it already felt like I had found someone I could trust long-term with my hair. Jade combines technical skill, communication, attention to detail, and genuine kindness in a way that made the entire experience stand out.

My request was very straightforward: have the grown-out sections re-highlighted and brighten the rest of my hair so that the overall color was even more blonde and brighter. Unfortunately, I left the salon with brown hair. It honestly looks like she just made it go back to my natural hair color. I have never, ever left a salon with my hair darker than when I walked in, especially when I specifically asked for my hair to be brighter and more blonde. It's really frustrating spending $300 and then getting the exact opposite of what I was asking for. Especially since I will now have to spend even more in the LA area where I live to fix it.

My review as the Bride…read more I had a great experience with my makeup and felt absolutely beautiful on my big day. My makeup artist Kendyl, Erika (the owner) and I had met back in April 2025 for my trial, and not knowing 100% sure what makeup look I wanted to go for, we experimented different colors during the trial. I had 6 months since the trial until my wedding day to think about what tweaks I wanted to make and there were definitely a few on my list. The big day had arrived and it was like catching up with an old friend talking to my artist. She asked what changes I had in mind since I had messaged her a month ago that I had found an image of a makeup look I was interested in, but had forgotten to submit the image. I had explained to her that the route we were going was correct, but some things had overpowered my face. My daily look is pretty much no makeup so going from bare face to complete glam was a huge 180 for me. After telling her each change that I had in mind, she pulled out the product that she had in mind after she reviewed the picture of me from my trial. It was as if she had already read my mind. Lashes too bulky, she had lashes that were more natural ready to go; foundation was a shade darker than my skin tone and felt more cakey, she had a matte foundation that matched more my skin tone; lip was looking too raspberry pink and wanted a more natural lip pink, she had the right lip stain already in her ammunition. I wanted to keep the suspense and did not look into a mirror and had my bridal party and family to be my eyes and decision makers. After all was done, I took a look in the mirror and felt like I was having an out of body experience. I didn't recognize this glamazon in the mirror and almost felt uncomfortable because I didn't believe that was me. We were supposed to have touchups done at the end but because of a late start due to construction (no ones fault) and taking a little too long to get into my dress, we weren't able to do one, but was able to squeeze in a quick powder touch up on my chest to cover up the acne. I am a crier and was nervous the makeup would not last (I've had previous experiences where the makeup was gone within hours), but it held up all throughout the entire day. My husband had complimented on how I looked and loved that he can still see me and not a complete stranger. He's used to seeing my bare face every day lol. Overall my experience, as the Bride, was amazing and loved every minute of it. I loved the interaction my artist and I had during the process. Thank you for making me look beautiful on my wedding day. I'm sad that I'll never look like that ever again lol, but who knows, people have vow renewals for a reason lol.

Women Should Empower Each Other, Sadly, That Wasn't My Experience with Kendyl…read more I normally don't post negative reviews, but I feel it's important to share my honest experience so others can make an informed decision. I had my makeup done by Kendyl as part of a bridal party, and unfortunately, the experience left me feeling uncomfortable, disrespected, and gaslighted. When I explained that I wanted a green eyeliner with neutral tones and a little glitter, she immediately questioned whether I had "cleared it with the bride," implying that I was trying to outshine her which was never the case. Her tone was judgmental and defensive from the start, making the interaction tense and awkward. She said she didn't have time to contour my face but maybe could "do it later." That "offer" was never actually followed through, and instead she continued to make excuses, saying contouring was considered "full glam" and that the bride hadn't told her I wanted that. Rather than simply moving on, she kept shifting blame and trying to make me feel like I was being difficult for even asking. I calmly told her that was fine, I could do my own contour since I had my own makeup. But when I said to just apply blush and skip bronzer so I could finish the rest myself, she became visibly agitated and said, "No. I do blush and bronzer" as if I wasn't allowed to make decisions about my own face. She also made condescending comments about makeup techniques, as if assuming I knew nothing, and later told the bride she had offered to contour me which was not true, she kept trying to make me feel bad about asking. I didn't receive lashes, only eyeliner and two eyeshadows, yet was still charged for a full service. What upset me most was how manipulative and unkind the whole experience felt. She made subtle comments that seemed intended to create tension between me and my closest friend of 24 years who is like a little sister to me, which was completely inappropriate. On a wedding day, an artist's energy should be supportive and calming, not defensive and blaming. I left feeling disrespected, lied to, and taken advantage of. I hope this review encourages more professionalism, honesty, and empathy in future client interactions. A makeup artist's job isn't just about skill, it's about helping people feel comfortable and confident, not criticized or manipulated. At the end of the day, women should empower each other, not tear one another down. Kindness, respect, and integrity will always be more beautiful than any makeup look.
