I wish I took a photo of my hair when I first got it done, but I totally spaced it. I didn't know my hair could move in the way Andrea styled and cut my hair! I have so much hair and I didn't even realize it. I mean I knew I had a lot of hair but, every cut and style just made me feel like my hair was so flat and had no volume at all, but she did something different and I mean different. She thinned out my hair to the point where it made it look like I had so much hair!!!! Like what the heck!!! There was so much hair on the floor and as you can see in my photo. It looks like I have like volume galore in my hair. It's just so crazy. I didn't realize that she specializes in wavy curly hair, but she did make my hair look amazing for my hair is straight with a weird wave in the back of my hair. Her space at the salon was very welcoming and peaceful. I felt very comfortable and the view was amazing. She has a huge window that you get to look outside of which was nice. Thank you so much Andrea. Can't wait to see what you can do to my hair next! read more

Kindred Hair Space - Hair Stylists Near Me - Reno, Nevada

This is exactly what I always wanted to have from a salon and a hairdresser. To take the time to listen, get to know me, and create a hairstyle that represents me. That's what Andrea at Kindred Hair Space did for me. That was so wonderful, but on top of it, the hairstyle was recreatable by me; that is as important as everything else! Trust me when I say I was very hesitant to make an appointment here; the place is very trendy, and all the hairstylists are young and super cool looking. I am a gray-haired older woman, and I wasn't really sure if I'd feel welcomed. But the worry was unfounded; I have never been treated so well. Andrea has a way of putting all of her attention and energy to you. I can't tell you how wonderful that made me feel. I LOVE my new cut (even after a day!) Finally feel like myself. I'm beyond thankful. read more

This was my first time here, and I couldn't be happier! As a first-time client, Anna, my stylist, was very thorough and helpful during my consultation. She asked what I was looking for in a cut and how I wanted to style it after I left. I made a follow-up appointment to get my hair lightened and dyed. The salon has a relaxed atmosphere, and I can't wait to take advantage of their color service. read more

Sweet and talented hairdressers here! The owner, Andrea, gave me the best cut I've had since I left San Diego. She's the first hairdresser I've had in over a year who actually listens, translates requests into action, and brings her expertise to the equation to knock her haircuts out of the park. Since getting a mullet-hawk from her a few weeks ago I've gotten so many compliments, from total strangers, every time I leave the house! I'm told the cut is "majestic"; "the bomb"; "absolutely amazing", etc. One lady said she owned a hair studio and wanted to know who did the cut so she could hire her. Elizabeth is also fabulous - she did my wife and son's hair. Perfect execution of exactly what they asked for. Plus she had a wealth of local tips for us as we're new to the area. Stellar decor too - calm, on-trend, lovely. Can't say enough good. read more

This space is not only calming and supportive, but filled with creativity and attentiveness. Andrea is my stylist and is amazing!! Before seeing Andrea, I hadn't seen a stylist who listened to my hair concerns or what I liked about my hair. Andrea cut my hair to highlight what I like and hide what I didn't. I can honestly say, I have never felt better about my hair!! I highly recommend any stylist at this salon as I've seen their work and interactions with their clients. They're all top-notch. read more

I love this salon! The location in midtown is convenient and in a cool building that has a plant-filled atrium. Andrea the owner, is a super skilled/talented stylist. She can cut volume and movement and wave into my fine, straight hair. Her cuts basically style themselves, but in case you want to add some product- she's great at picking what will work well with your hair and most importantly- she teaches you exactly how to apply the product and touch your hair to get the most out of the style. I truly had no clue how to touch my hair to get volume and piecey bits before. She's not cheap but her cuts are worth every penny!! Andrea is dedicated to her craft, continuing education, and to coaching other stylists, so I'm sure everyone who works there is good and learning a lot. Follow the salon on Instagram to see examples of their work. read more

I just love Andrea and her beautifully curated space so much! She is super talented and truly listens to and cares about her clients. One of the many things that sets her apart from other stylists is that she will make sure that you know how to re-create the look before you leave. It's the worst when your hair looks great but then you go home, wash it and can't make it look how it did when you left the salon ever again. She has worked so magic with my hair as I transitioned from long hair to short and now going back, and she has this unique ability to make every step of the way look intentional and not like you're in some in-between stage that you're just making the best of. I really can't recommend her and this salon enough! I won't ever go anywhere else! read more

Awesome experience last week with Elizabeth Rose. I live in the Bay Area but was spending the week at our Tahoe cabin and decided to take a drive out to Reno for a cut. I have been coloring my hair at home for at least the past 5 years. Half my head was so dry and fried and I was in a place to prioritize getting my hair healthy and accepting change. I ended up finding KHS on instagram and after looking through each stylist selected Raven. I can not say enough kind things about her and this salon. I'm someone who gets anxious going to new places especially in midtown and they sent out an email before my first appointment detailing how to get to the salon and their parking lot had plenty of spaces. Very down to earth vibes and I love that they are eco conscious in their choice of products as well as their craft. Raven has such a welcoming demeanor and emphasized wanting to help me with my journey while still having hair that made me feel like myself. I was ready to just have to lose half my hair and put a solid color on, but Raven was able to evaluate the condition of my hair and show me her concerns as well as offer multiple options to get my hair healthy and work towards my inspiration pics. I know my hair journey is going to be a long one, but I am so happy I found Raven. From my initial consultation and appointment, I've had a follow up since and Raven is such a kind, inclusive and knowledgable stylist. The K18 product she gave me is doing wonders and the color we went with is holding up well. I look forward to continuing my hair journey with her read more
