Good to know now that I'm in the middle of the procedure. She cauterized the areas. When home doing wound care, I find she removed the entire area that looked odd. The wounds still haven't fully healed after over 3 months and they will scar. I have 2 areas in the back of my calves that look horrible. First, reviewing all options with me should be done. Telling me that the entire discolored areas will be cut out and how slowly those biopsy areas will heal, and that they will scar, would have influenced my decision. I didn't have enough information to make an informed decision. Now I have still healing wounds on my legs. Yes, I did go to follow-up appointments and was told legs heal last and slowly.
