I was sent a certified letter, which had some else's name on it, so the post office would not allow me to pick it up. When the office manager emailed me a copy of the letter. The letter said circumstances has brought them to release me as a patient. When I spoke to the office manager she claimed I made a comment that was derogatory, but would not tell me what the comment was and it was not listed in the letter. Unfortunately, I had recently had a root-canal done and the crown that was put in is still causing me problems, however, I do not feel comfortable going back to Greenwood Dental Associates. Especially since the office manager would not explain what I said or did wrong. I liked DR. LePera and I don't believe she was aware of what the office manager had done, because she wanted me to schedule another appointment. In conclusion, make sure you do not talk to anyone at Greenwood Dental Associates and if they leave you in a room by yourself keep your mouth shut.

I was told I could not get a regular cleaning, based on the hygienists evaluation of periodontal disease. I was going to pay $275 for a special cleaning. I do NOT have periodontal disease. I then asked if I could get a regular cleaning and was told I would need to come back. That is what I set up the appointment for! Bottom line, I either took 'their' cleaning and paid the money OR would have to come back for a regular cleaning (that I scheduled the same day). How does this work? I was extremely uncomfortable and told the office manager I didn't want another appointment and that I would be going back to my regular dentist. I walked out. My husband will not be returning either. I purchased additional dental insurance and will go back to our previous dentist.

They filed two claims to my insurance requesting a total of $1,069. This amount for a cleaning? I was also told that I would get an estimate to fix and fill a couple of cracks in one tooth. The tooth did not bother me at all. I never received that estimate. I am more shocked at the attempt to get an absurd amount from my insurance company for a simple cleaning. I cancelled my next appointment and went with a different practice. The office is need of some upgrades too. Equipment and furniture seemed outdated, except for the panoramic x-ray machine. I suppose that's why the hefty claim?

Was overcharged by Station Dental by 4x the amount insurance charged. They don't automatically…read morecredit your account if you over-paid, you have to call back to get refunded. If you don't call back...they keep the amount you overpaid (theft). They won't let you wait to pay till insurance runs it - you are required to pay upfront. They also don't tell you to follow-up, so this process of overcharging customers without proactively reimbursing goes under the radar. I find this extremely unethical. In addition, the receptionist wasn't very empathetic about it either (she said better to receive money back than have to pay more, completely disregarding the issue at hand). I'd like to offer 2 recommendations if a manager or business owner sees this. 1. Let customers pay once it runs through insurance; that way no one is over or under charged. Yes, a receptionist may have to follow up with people, though I understand that's a normal role of a receptionist at a health/dental office. 2. Find a way to automatically credit/refund people's accounts and communicate with customers when that's happened. Taking extra money from customers, not refunding/crediting till asked, and not communicating this risk upfront is simply unethical and not sustainable for the future. Aside from this billing malpractice; I think the dental professionals are great at their job and offer a great service. I'd like to not have to take my business elsewhere...though I can't stand for the unethical charging process and lack of understanding of the issue. I'd happily change my review to a 4/5 star if this billing process can be sustainably resolved.

Every time I leave her office, I walk away feeling well cared for and confident in the quality of treatment I received. Kevin also deserves a shout-out -- he's so good at what he does. Professional, attentive, and always welcoming. It's clear that both of them care deeply about the patients they serve, and that makes all the difference. Most recently, I had a situation come up, and I just want to say how much I appreciate the way everything was handled with kindness and understanding.
