Been coming here since I was a little kid and it was so sweet coming back with my grandma while visiting family. They have so many unique and wonderful flavors of nuts and candy! We always get the double roasted cashews and almond cinnamon toffee. Decided to try 2 flavors of corn nuts this time, ranch and BBQ. Love how fresh everything is! We went here when we visited friends. This place has every kind of snack mixes, nuts and candy you can imagine! You can get some prepackaged items, but a lot of it is bulk, so you can get as much or as little as you like. Plenty of employees waiting to help out, so there wasn't a long wait (i am sure during holidays, that would be different). Employees are very friendly and helpful, Store was very clean and not super crowded. I did not go into the restroom, so don't know about that. Would definitely go back again!! read more

Nifty Nut House is another one of these places listed as a tourist stop in Wichita that made me think 'really?' A simple candy shop is listed in an official tour guide and what's more my buddy who's lived here for years has never been? Not sure if it would be worth it but with a lot of time to kill why not? Obviously you know already that my opinion of it has changed with my visit since I don't give out a high starred review for places I don't like. I will say though that I liked it so much I ended up buying a t-shirt, and I don't really do that too often (anymore.) Why did I like it so much? Yes, it is very much a candy shop and from the large, nearly fully parking lot and the crowds inside. I was expecting a lot of almonds, walnuts which they do have but the centerpiece of their operations is corn nuts. I haven't had them in years and so was skeptical until I saw some of their flavors: ranch, habanero, spicy buffalo ranch, sriracha, sour cream and onion. I ended up sampling and getting a quarter pound of a few. I should have gotten more because I ate them up too quickly. I did go on a busy weekend but I there were some shelves that were empty, like toilet paper shelves at the beginning of pandemic empty. I guess they just ran out of things but candy was actually one of the things they were short on. read more

I received this September 12, 2024 as a gift and I decided to take a look at the ingredients and found that one of those ingredients can actually harm you. Yellow Prussiate of soda. It's a salt substitute. It has cyanide in it, and it can cause death if ingested or inhaled. Been here many many times. Today I had several things to buy. They were out of one thing. I picked up the other things I wanted and then saw the fudge. Thought I would buy a piece until I was told it was sold by the piece - $4 each. But, the pieces were very different sizes. The lady told my they were supposed to take them off the bottom and go across, but all the pieces were weird and tiny at the bottom. So, I asked her could we go up the side as someone had already done that twice. She said no she could only go across. She said someone should not have gone up the side. So, I did not buy any, because who is going to pay $4 for a small weird piece at the bottom. Nifty should be selling this by the lb. and then size would not matter. That is why the person sold the piece on the side that they should not have, because the person buying it did not want the small pieces at the bottom. We have a candy shop that sells fudge by the lb and I buy some whenever I am in town. read more

This place is a sugar wonderland! First, it is sparkling clean for a place with insane foot traffic and lots of chocolate and nuts. Second, the staff are so friendly and willing to offer samples of things that will make you want to hurry home, brush your teeth, and do exercise! The perimeter of the store is pre-packaged candy and bins of jelly beans and other flavors of candies in bulk. We perused the perimeter first, grabbing Heath Bits o Brickle, peanut butter filled pretzels, dried mango, and strawberries and cream yogurt pretzels. Then, the inside is a maze of bulk items that staff will provide samples for and then sell by the weight, 1/4 pound minimum. If things cost the same price in the same category, they can be combined. At the first stop, Eric R. tried peanut butter pretzel clusters and yogurt covered peanut butter filled pretzels and was immediately in heaven. There were so many different things - raw and roasted nuts, milk and dark chocolate covered nuts and fruits, flavors of corn nuggets, sesame sticks, rice crackers...you name, they have it. If you did not know it existed, they still have it! We tried coconut curry cashews, which were like coconut curry yogurt coated cashews (bought those of course). I also got a mix of milk and dark chocolate covered amaretto pecans...whoa! Eric R. got cookies and cream caramels too. We got so many things they put them in a box for us to carry out! It was ridiculous, but not even that pricey. I think we walked out with several pounds of gourmet treats for $40. This place was so fun to explore that it would be an event for a family. The only problem is it closes at 4 PM on Saturdays and is closed on Sundays. I planned our whole Saturday around getting here and I am glad we had time to spend! read more

For years, my Boss has been giving me a box of gourmet nuts from this place for a Christmas present. What an awesome gift idea for any occasion. Anyhoo, he asked me if I'd ever been to the Nifty Nuthouse and when I replied "no," he almost slapped me, telling me it's an iconic Wichita staple. Okay this place may be my all-time favorite candy store I have EVER been to! They literally have anything your hear desires. I have been here now a few times over the years when visiting family and I must say if you are a tourist this is the spot to stop at! Beware there will be crowds no matter the time of day you come but they have a lot of employees very good at their job that will help you fairly quickly. They have many nut mixes and homemade chocolates and a random favorite of mine is the corn nuts. Sounds boring right?! It's not ! Lol let me tell you! Wow! They do have lots of nuts. So many nuts. And candy! I didn't realize there would be so much candy - bulk candy and candy classics. There's also a display of gum all machines that wraps overhead around the entire show floor, a truly amazing quantity and display. I wish I had visited the original, as I suspect/hope it had a patina to it. They of course have everything from organic to unsalted to roasted and mixed of every nut you could ever want, which is just the tip of the iceburg. They slso have all your favorite candies, including M&M's by the color, jelly beans by the flavor, several fudge varieties, and fancy popcorn. They even have several souvenirs to sell, shirts, hats, and hoodies. All this above is just to name some, they have enough to keep you looking for hours. It's been many years since I've been here and I think they must have remodeled cause it was a new building when I went. Lots of open space which I like for walking around and literally any candy and chocolates you can think of. My favorite candy of all time are sour belts, especially the sour strawberry belts, and it's amazing to see how many flavors they have in stock. They have so many selections and you get really nostalgic walking by them. I don't eat as much candy and sweets anymore cause once upon a time I was prediabetic and made the decision to be more mindful of my sugar intake. But I'll still indulge here and there, everything in moderation ya know? Oh yeah! They do have some sugar-free options! I like how there's a good mix of candy, chocolates, nuts and other sweets here. It doesn't seem too heavily focused on certain stuff. This place has been in Wichita for so long and a treasure to visit. I had so much fun here, I didn't even think to get photos. This warehouse is packed full of nuts, chocolates, candy, and mixes of all sorts! I am thoroughly impressed with the breadth of combinations and varieties that they carry here. They have two sides, one with trail mixes, fruits covered with chocolates, and chips. The other side was more candy and sweets. They also have a sugar-free section for diabetics. Special shoutout to John, Julie, and Courtland for the suggestions and the generous sample portions! They made sure that we were able to really get a little of everything and we ended up getting almost all of their favorites. We left with bags of Sweet Caroline, chocolate covered: raspberries, blueberries, apples, and strawberries, banana chips, mountain mix, and the lemon creme almonds. There were so much more that I was tempted to get as well! Overall, so glad to have ended our trip at this nut house!!
