Yelp Review 2026 #209: I waited at the very last minute to buy my team's jersey for the World Cup. I went to Nike in Las Vegas before coming to Boston and they didn't have any. This Nike store in Boston is along a shopping street. There are plenty of restaurants, bars and cafes along the way. I went in and combed the store for a jersey but the smallest size they had was XL which is basically a dress on me. But desperate times... The line to pay was super long and there was only one cashier! It wasn't until the line started to block a portion of the store did a second register opened up. If you know your city is hosting a major sporting event, you should be well-staffed! Which they were but some of them weren't really doing anything, not helping customers. read more

Popped in awaiting our dinner reservation, Store was clean and staff greeted us as we entered. This isn't an outlet location so it's mostly full price items, they have a decent array of clothing, jackets starting to roll out, and a good spread of their sneaker models from dunks, Jordan's, runners and casual walking. Didn't stay here too long but i like the layout of the store and the openness of it to walk around. read more

If you're over 25 you're looked at as an idiot. I wasn't aware that the cool thing to do when working in retail in 2020 was to ignore the customer, lean against a column in the store, and wear a face that makes it obvious to all that you can't wait for your shift to be over. If you ask a question they will literally look over your shoulder for their nearest counterpart/fellow employee/associate so that they can share a "look" that even I know means they hate you for interrupting their Instagram time. This is all before they intentionally don't answer your question, rather they begin walking away from you with a strut I hadn't seen since Electric Boogaloo was popular. It's up to you at that point to figure out that they're "helping" you by leading you to area that pertained to your question. So.....given all this(and more) they are either the worst group of employees, or they're the coolest group of employees. Given that it's 2020 and I'm now "old" and out of the loop, I'm willing to concede that they're probably the latter. They're the coolest cats in retail. I just wasn't aware. read more

April2023: 5: I stopped by here with my family members who were shopping and looking for specific sportswear. Several of the individuals working in the store were able to help and get what we needed. It was the weekend and the atmosphere was very lively. There were plenty of sales workers on the floor to help with most every person that walked inside the doors. We were able to complete our purchases and move on to the next location. All of the workers I encountered today, seemed to enjoy their work and they were very enthusiastic about helping us. read more

Love Nike. HATE this store. I am a frequent buyer of sports apparel for my family of athletes, so I'm in Nike, New Balance, and Under Armour stores at least once a month. However, I always hate coming into the Nike store on Newbury, and spend as little time as possible in here. With the exception of maybe one employee at any given time (which is why I gave 2, not 1 star), if I'm lucky enough to get him or her, most of the employees come across lethargic, frustrated, and act almost as if they are doing you a favor. Last week, as the girls in my family were trying on shoes and shirts, I wandered upstairs to get some new sneakers. When I asked an employee about my size, he literally said, "I might be able go back and see if they have your size," after which he just stared at me and waited in silence, until I prompted him like a caveman with a grunted, "um, yes please." Service. Something Nike has NEVER seemed to embrace. Yes their products are very decent, but it honestly is like a visit to the dentist every time I come in here, which has declined over the last couple years. If I find what I'm looking for at other brand stores, it decreases my visit to this store, and with good reason. read more

Time for a little shopping to break up some of the historical fun we'd been having. With two teenage boys (I guess maybe me as well) we popped into Nike Boston to see if they had any Boston swag we couldn't live without. Store is very open, staff is very friendly. 2 floors of all things Nike. Bottom floor was women and kids clothing and shoes. 2nd floor was all things men. What I really like about Nike and this store is they prominently displayed the new ACG gear that had been released. Hoping this marks a trend for a larger return of when of my favorite brands. Store had plenty of unique items that we don't have access to in B'ham, but it came at a lofty price too. We did grab a couple t-shirts and that was about it at this location. But if you're in the area and like Nike it seems like you've gotta at least pop in for a few minutes. read more

I was there on 12/06/2022, Tuesday around 5:50pm. I wanted to try out few stuffs so I went to the fitting room. The door was locked and one of the staff said that we need key to enter. Okay then he was just standing doing nothing. I was kinda expecting him to ask other staffs to bring the key so I can try. I wasn't sure if the place was closed since it was pretty dark outside. He said it was closed so I walked out since I did not want to bother them. But the closing time is 7pm according to the yelp and there were many people in the nike store. A person who was standing in front of the fitting room needs to do a better job if he is getting paid. Lost potential customer who was going to spend more than 200 dollars stuffs. read more

First - it's Nike Town. Nice store, good styles, clean & fresh. This review is not about the store - it's about an employee. Johnny - This team member is a phenomenal addition to your staff. I asked a question and got answers in a friendly, helpful manner. Not the "here buy this" sales pitch kind of answers you mostly find in retail. helpful, polite = cares about the guest experience. In the checkout line for a few mins with other guests returning etc... heeeere's Johnny..... "Are you paying with a card? Again... in my lack of experience with the East Coast weather... I came in here in search of some casual shorts... however, I couldn't find anything but running shorts. They have a very small section for women... like TINY... and it's all devoted to running. I guess running is the sport in Boston? They also have a TON of Patriots gear and a homage to Tom Brady which I just smirked... Needless to say, I am spoiled by the SF Niketown... so if you're reading this... really, come to the Bay and check it out... you won't be disappointed... at least I hope not! read more

After walking from Fenway Baseball field about 3.9 miles decided to get out of my dress shoes with a heel and buy some running shoes to be comfortable at game. The employee who assisted me was very nice to bring my shoes. The only thing that was missing was 1 pair socks which there was none. The store was very clean. read more

Rachel greeted me with warmth and a professional enthusiasm that made me want to stay and shop. I say that because I would rather stick needles in my eyes than shop. Regrettably, it's like I have a pathological global hatred for shopping, you know. Be that as it may, after Rachel directed me upstairs for what I was looking for - mindful to point out the stairs and the elevator - I worked with manager en training, Samantha G. The "G" must stand for great because that's the level of customer care she provided. Took me less than 9 minutes. In and out, just like I like it. Several hundred dollars and time well spent. Nike, I know that this might not mean much to you right now, and still yet, give these two Halos - a sentient class of Nike team members - a raise! They made me feel like a celebrity. Nike Boston is a gigantic piece of shit. Let me explain why. I visited Nike Boston on September 5, 2016. I needed running shoes made the regrettable mistake of buying shoes that were mismatched sizes. Yes, I am the idiot who accidentally bought one shoe that was size 12.5 and another that was size 11 because I did not bother to check the box. That's my fault. What happened next is Nike's fault. I returned to the store 2 days later (September 7). The manager on duty told me that I could not return the shoes because they had been worn. I explained that this was highly unlikely because THEY WERE 2 FUCKING DIFFERENT SIZES. I took off the shoes I was wearing and showed her that they were the same size (and neither of them were 11 or 12.5!). Didn't matter. So fuck you Nike Boston for pocketing my money. Fuck you for leaving me with shoes that are different sizes. Fuck you for calling me a liar. To Yelpers reading this review: Do you know anyone with one size 12.5 foot and another foot that is size 11? If so, please contact me. Had the most bizarre experience here recently. I'm an ultimate frisbee player in the market for new cleats, which is challenging because of the hybrid needs of the sport, so I was hoping to discuss some of the cleats nike offers and their specific pros and cons, and really learn more about some of their new stuff. Instead, out of the 3 sales associates I talked to, no one could give me answers as to the difference between some of the cleats I was looking at other than "oh, I guess the soles are made of different materials but I don't know any specifics." Not one of them could tell me the function and effect of the new ankle sleeves on their new line of cleats, or explain if this was a significant enough difference to be worth an extra 175$. To top this off, they seemed utterly unwilling to help me, and they didn't have a single pair of women's cleats in the entire store. Eventually I asked if they had any small mens sizes (since they couldn't answer any of my questions I wanted to feel if there was a difference between the cleats,) but they had no small men's sizes either. What kind of sports store has no women's gear? Adding insult to injury, a random third party decided to chime in while I was having a conversation with an associate and tell me that the cleats I was asking about "were only for real competitive athletes" so that's why he was buying them, but that I wouldn't need them. This in itself is of course not a reflection on the store, but two associates were standing with us at the time and offered NOTHING to the conversation, letting this person essentially cause another customer to leave. I felt humiliated for even inquiring and I will definitely NOT be buying any nike cleats for while, especially if I can't get any real information or even try them on. Shame on you for poor training on your products and sexism in your stores! read more

I have to give this place 4 stars simply for their innovative shoe-delivery system. You tell the salesperson what shoes you want in what size, s/he plugs it into a computer, and your shoes come down through the ceiling in a big plastic tube that spans all the floors. I brought my Nike+ Fuelband back to the US as the battery had lost it's charge and would not last longer than 10 hours. I expected to have to fight for my warranty and consumer rights but I was extremely surprised when the sales assistant immediately offered to swap it for a new one. He was super friendly and greeted us when we entered and also made friendly conversation about the shoes we were currently wearing. My friend was interested in some running shoes and he paired her with a consultant to discuss her options whilst he sent me to what seemed like the Nike+ specialist. I was in an out of the store in under 10 minutes which was exactly what I was looking for as I was in a rush. read more

I originally went in here for a new pair of trainers. I understand that I have small feet and that stores wont always have 5 or smaller in the shoes I want. So I asked for any thing they have in a 5, I tired both on and thought that the shoes were too big for me but decided to give them a chance and run in them and return them if they don't work out. So i decided to take back one pair which were hideous and just too heavy to run in, the girls were rude and obnoxious. The girls proceeded to try and convince me to buy kids shoes to run in (which i know for a fact is not good since they don't support enough). BOO! i never really liked Nike to begin with because of the child labor etc but damn their staff is pretty annoying. read more

I was excited being the Niketown in Denver closed and i have not been in one since the Grove in LA so I was like heck yes I am going to the Niketown to exchange my broken fuel band and get me some gear. Well I got the exchange done from a rude guy then I proceeded to walk around the two levels, the third is just an office level, and see what they had. No one who worked there spoke to me as they were all too busy talking with each other. I am glad that they hire people who like each other but they are there to help people and to work not just talk to one another. They have a good selection of stuff but the staff is totally rude so you will find what you want and be abused all along the way! read more

I've been a fan of Nike forevahhh!! I've also been a lifelong supporter of "lets just ignore the fact that Nike products are completely overpriced." That being said, this was the COOLEST, most hip-looking Nike store I've ever been in. Suddenly I felt this urge to become the healthiest, most fit person in the universe. Store has several floors. And (this is nerdy Katie coming out, please skip to next paragraph!) they have the absolute COOLEST method of retrieving shoe sizes for customers. Basically, they have these Intermec scanners which they use to scan the display shoe, while submitting the size request. The shoe request then is sent to the basement, where a sticker with the shoe name, location number, salesperson name, and other needed info is printed out. A worker bee then retrieves the needed shoe, sticks the sticker on the box, then sends it up via these long tube thingies (think butler system...) that go up to each floor. There the salesperson retrieves the box! (nerd digression over) I seriously, seriously, was NOT going to buy anything here. In fact, I distinctly remember telling my sister before entering that I was only going to look around. But (and there's always a but) I ran into these awesome grey shoes that had... bicycles all over them! As an avid bicyclist, I could NOT pass them up! ($65 is a small price to pay for fabulousness). And then completely on accident, I noticed this cute black jacket hanging nearby... I decided to try it on "just for fun," and before I knew it, both items were in my hands and I was headed downstairs to the cash register. 4 stars because I just adore the jacket and shoes (and ok, I understand that that's a reflection of the company, not of this store). And negative 1 star because the service was actually totally shitty (except for that one girl who brought me my shoes). read more

Terrible service and products that break?...yea, don't waist my time. So I've stayed away from Nike for the past twelve years due to bad experiences...but after reading an amazing interview with their CEO in 'Fast Company' I decided to give them a second chance. Service: The poor young kids that work the sales floor don't know what they are talking about. It seems like they are given basic product knowledge, but when it comes to competitive product knowledge they're lost. I'm looking for someone who can ask my what my favorite running shoe is, then make a recommendation on new products. Also, don't expect to get any one-on-one service. They staff this place so slim that each associate is busy helping five+ customers. Product: So the last pair of Nike shoes that I owned was in college. Thought that I'd give them a shot and they literally fell apart in two months. I've been reading some great reviews of the new Nike Glides...so I though I'd give them a shot. Fit great, ran great, in three months time one of the eyelets busted? (never had that happen before) They apologized and replaced the product, but I'm not crossing my fingers about this pair either. Bought a Nike FuelBand in October of 2012, and it stopped working while traveling on business. Brought it in, no argument from Nike, replaced in minutes. They were classy in allowing graffiti messages on the front if their building after the bomb attacks in Boston. Finally, just wanted to know my sneaker size, so I could custom order a pair if shoes, they spent 20 minutes helping me, without pressuring me to buy a pair I didn't want. read more

She was able to realize this mistake before I recalled the name of my shoe and recommend what I should purchase next. While I don't wear Nike shoes, I love their running clothes. In fact, most of the shorts, tops, and jog bras I wear are made by Nike. This location has a great selection of running clothes, and they even have a sales rack. I stopped in the day after the marathon hoping to pick up some more Boston Marathon souvenirs (I bought a Nike Quick Chick shirt and a Boston '08 hat at the Expo), but unfortunately they were out of my size in the cute shorts and half-zip I was eying. I guess I should have gone over the weekend before the race. I love how they have the Boston Marathon course on the wall upstairs with the town names and elevation. So cute! read more

I was THIS close to buying this sweatshirt, but realized (with much sadness might I add) that I really don't have a spare $120. The girl who helped us out was really nice (my sister ended up buying a pair of shoes) and actually took time to explain how they get the products up to the main floor from the supply room hahah ...yes, we asked. Such a nerdy thing to do to be fascinated with the logistics, but wow, so organized! I will have to point out, though, that this nice girl is the exception. Fantastic concept...Niketown is a store dedicated to, you guessed it, all things Nike. It is on 2 floors right in the middle of Newbury street in the middle of Boston.. They also have a revolutionary new shoe called the NikeFree. Basically it is a sneaker without a cushion...This simulates barefoot running, which leads to stronger tendons, feet and ankles... The problem is...They never stock them in Niketown. As nice as this store appears, you are better off shopping on line read more

I've been loyal to Nike since i could probably walk, my dad was always loved the brand, so i ALWAYS have to shop/window shop at Niketown if I'm visiting a city that has one - boo on you San Diego for not having one. CLOTHES: First thing i am drawn to is the running apparel and second is the basketball section since i'm active in both. i LOVE drifit. This Niketown didnt seem to have much variety unlike the San Francisco and Chicago stores. I was looking for a new pair of running full-length pants and different color Elite basketball socks but didnt walk away with either. bummer! PRICE: its Nike. you pay for the quality, which i will attest to having some drifit clothes for over 4 or 5 years. AMBIANCE: Niketowns always have cool displays and art up. love it. I am a huge Nike fan and probably by 1-2 pairs of shoes every month - but usually through Nike.com or the SNKRS app. In the past I have found that the inventory at the store is very limited despite the fact that the sales floor has tons of different shoes. Recently, I had a return for a online order. There was no question about taking them back and giving a refund (with receipt). The sales associate was very friendly and followed up with suggestions for replacements based on my feedback on the shoes I returned (which I hated to return - but they just were never going to fit). I understand that this is a busy store - lots of foot traffic of tourists and shoppers just wandering through, but my one complaint about this location is the lack of customer service, especially on the second floor. I wandered around the store for probably 15 minutes - looking at shoes, picking them up with some interest to buy. The sales associates were so busy chit chatting with each other - not one person asked if they could help me the entire time I was there (similar to other reviews). They were not busy helping other customers with shoes at all - they just don't seem to care. This is not the only time that this has happened. Honestly, I would have bought a couple pairs that I liked - but I am not searching out assistance - someone should have been there to help. This is a management issue!! I ended up going to Foot Locker at Cambridgeside Galleria and was well taken care of. My only other comment is that they do not seem to have the most recent new releases. I have a love hate relationship with Nike. I like their shoes a lot. Hate that their moral practices (*cough* sweatshops *cough*) are less than admirable. For some reason, I wander into this store every four months or so. Maybe my memory fails me like clockwork. The service is limited to a smile and hello, which is fine I suppose, and the selection is vast for athletic gear, not so much for lifestyle products. It's not an exciting experience though. First off, I only run when I am being chased by a lion. Or perhaps a pack of wolves. So Niketown might not be the best store for me to be reviewing, but I was wasnt impressed with this place. It was basically a storefront with designer running gear(shoes), without any of the real athletic necessities. And if you arent looking for running stuff? Better luck somewhere else. I had a nike gift card that was burning a hole in my pocket, so I decided to stop in and find something. I figured I could at least get a basic hooded sweatshirt or something along those lines, but the only ones they had were the type with odd looking graphics and obnoxious neon colors.
