Staff here were really helpful, didn't find shoes this time around but they still made the experience awesome. Very knowledgeable and helpful. Even went above and beyond to show us a collab that had sold out immediately. They have customized Boston stuff that I'm not sure if you can buy but I'm assume you can pay to make your version. It was also nostalgic since Converse were basically the only shoes I wore in middle school. But, visiting this store has made me more open minded about purchasing some more. They have more styles than just what I remember, but of course still have those ones too. It was cool to see them displayed like that in person. Overall fun to visit the flagship right in Boston and I'd come back here when they have a collab drop or just to shop! Amazing experience!! I came to Boston not realizing the Converse Flagship store was here, but once I saw the massive sign I knew I had to make a pit stop. There's a pathway marked with Converse logo symbols that leads to the store, super easy to find! Once I got in I found a couple of things I liked, and despite a short wait the staff were exceptionally helpful and friendly. Hands down the best Converse store I've ever been at. It's kind of tricky finding the store if you've ver been before. On Google maps it is misidentified as being located in the business buildings by Causeway St and N Beverly. It's actually behind these sets of buildings on the wharf. Head down N Beverly and make a right at the wharf and go towards Washington Bridge. The store is located at the back right next to the bridge and parking garage. This place has an amazing selection. All the current styles and colors plus a few exclusives that are very hard to find anywhere else other than online resellers, like garçons collab. This is one of two locations where you can order a custom designed pair of converse. A very unique experience. You start off with a base pair before picking materials, patterns, and accessories. The shoes take about two to three weeks to be completed and it costs about $10 to have it delivered. My sister designed a pair and the staff was super helpful navigating through the process and choices. Highly recommend this as a fun way to spend an hour or two especially on a cold and/or rainy day like we had in the spring while visiting Boston. After your visit, I recommend the brewery next door - Night Shift - great food and beer. This store I'd also very conveniently located next to the North line and the TD Garden arena. read more

I took a chance based on many other bad reviews because I only live 3 blocks away. As of 2/19/24 when I write this, I either got a rare experience or they've hired new people. The employees were friendly and helpful, and the girl at the design counter was knowledgeable. It was really cool seeing all the styles nobody else carry in stores. Terrible service! Service person in the flagship store had the most terrible attitude We walked in to have my converse shoes repaired or exchanged. 1. I'm visiting from Los Angeles and came here after my duck tour guide recommended getting customized chucks - "anything you want." So I went on by and 1. The yelp address is incorrect. Actually address is 1 Lovejoy Wharf, Boston, MA 02114; 2. You can't get "anything you want." There are limitations on their customization. There are 2 stations for customization. One is to print on a design or artwork you bring in and the other is choosing the fabric. All the other stuff needs to be done online. I was a little disappointed but what can you do? It is what it is? I kept going back and forth with questions. Genevieve was super helpful and patient with all my questions despite knowing I was going to purchase anything then and there (what I wanted was not in store). CON: The only downside is that the day before some new shoe released and apparently sold out. Because of this, they weren't answering their phones because people were calling in about the shoe. I was calling in the morning to get the correct address since the yelp address was incorrect. They were purposely not answering. Totally a dick move in my opinion especially for people like me not calling about the shoes. Right before I left, one of the employees (maybe the manager) said they can "start answering the phones now" and hope no one asks about the new shoe. Definitely minus points. So the Converse online shop likes to just steal your money with "preauthorization" changes. They give no way to dispute so I figured their flagship store can carry the heat. I simply chose some shoes and put them in my cart to double check the price as they were to be a Christmas gift. Instantly they took $90.10 out of my account. Today When my bills went to autopay my account was over drafted. No one at their online site will take responsibility and they pretty much just say "there is no record of this sorry" I am out close to $150 now. I will NEVER buy another converse product. read more

poor experience. Came specifically to get my own designed shoes. Staff was very busy with rearranging shoes on one wall. i asked to get a sepcific size and canvas model. Came back with wrong size and leather model. Custom make takes 1,5 month with no overseas shipping option (they are a multinational company). Left hand, meet right hand. Definitely don't communicate well amongst themselves. We came yesterday, they closed early because their AC broke. No problem, they said we could come early the next morning, as early as 8 to help us, since we already had plans for the day. Showed up at 9, they were confused and said no, they don't open until posted hours. Fine if you don't open until posted hours, like a normal store. But don't tell a customer you'll open early for them, drag them across the subway train to get there on a Saturday morning, and not follow through. read more

Such a lame excuse for a flagship store. No where to park, store is hidden so you can't see if from the street. They didn't sell the three items Instagram ads keeps pushing on me claiming they don't stock them because they're too popular. If it's the flagship store at the headquarters it should have all the new seasons collections?? The store they used to have on Newbury was much better. They didn't even offer to help us find it at another retailer. Store was completely empty. No cool people hang around the location anyway so I don't know how they think they're serving they're clientele. They clearly know no one is going which is why they are closed on Sunday's, no retailers are closed on Sunday unless they're struggling. Poor poor converse is screwed. read more

This place makes it super difficult to get your own artwork printed on the shoes. Their instructions are "Bring your own artwork", however they don't accept flash drive. Really sucks when you go home empty handed after you gave your nephew a $100 gift card he can't use. And by the way they scare kids who created their own artwork with a legal review in case it's on "the internet". Tell me what isn't? Walking home with a traumatized kid. How does a child prove it's his or her own artwork? Update: ...3 weeks later not a word back from their lawyers if they can print my nephew's artwork. Great idea, pathetic execution. read more

Knowledge of Converse HQ's return to Boston has been in the air for a while now. As of Friday, May 15, 2015 they opened their 2nd flagship store opposite of Causeway Street. The Boston Metro informed me that it was opening today & the 1st 50 people get a free t-shirt. Perfect excuse for a coffee break. A little more buzz would have drawn out a few more people but 20 or so gathered when the doors opened @ 10am. The space is gorgeous, inside & out. The thoughtful use of public space made me want to come here & sit on a sunny day. Back to the store. There was a larger number of sneakers & apparel inside than I expected. Plus there are a few Massachusetts/Boston exclusive items there. The "workshop" allows you to custom make a pair of Chucks from a few dozen fabrics, styles & soles with the exclusive red stripe on the sole that is a tribute to the Freedom Trail. It takes them 4 to 6 weeks to deliver the finish product. The staff there are extremely nice, knowledgeable & hekpful. They are armed with handheld scanners that connects with their back of house to get your product to you quickly. They are also able to check on inventory if they do not have the size you require. I definitely be back at least for the view. While I came for the free t-shirt, I left with a few gifts for my family. They really need better signage to inform people where they are. Due to the storefronts facing the river many people that are not familiar with the area may get lost or fear to tread. If you are a Cons fan I would definitely recommend a visit. read more

I was so excited to go here and was very disappointed. They had a very limited selection of shoes and poor customer service.

I was disappointed. I was expecting walls of apparel and a wider selection of shoe styles (other than chucks). What they actually have is lots of chuck taylors with a redline painted on the sole to mimic the freedom trail for a crazy inflated price. Non-chuck options are not plentiful. Dont get me wrong, there is some limited edition, unique, fly shit for $200+ that you probably cannot get anywhere else. The range is still limited though - it goes from chucks to some oddball limited's with nothing in between like skate oxfords (like the Breakpoint Pro's that I recently acquired). They did have some basketball styles though. The store's focus seems to be doing customs - they do custom printing on standard chucks and t-shirts and then they also have a chuck design studio where you can pick the fabric they make the shoes from. I was looking at the custom printing. You can choose from their graphic library or bring in some custom work. My interest in this was immediately squashed by the terrible sales staff. I flipped through some of the art and asked some basic questions like how long it takes to produce a shirt and what color shirts were available to print on. Since the art in the libraries on the tablets was shown to display on light or dark shirts I figured both were available. They straight up tell me they only have white t-shirts. I asked when they would have other colors in and they said the only other color they do is black BUT that they were out and they had no idea when black shirts were coming back in. "We have no idea when stuff comes in." ?!?! Really ?!? That doesn't sell the service to me.... especially since I liked a couple designs and was actually going to order some shirts. I did leave there with a couple things but the experience was disappointing. If youre not doing custom ish, stick to the Converse stores on Newbury or Assembly. read more

I love this store. I visited this store while frequenting Boston and my great friend and I customized a couple of pair. He received his but my pair was delayed quite some time. Nikki G. and Dani helped me tremendously. They went above and beyond with customer service. When I'm back in town I will buy my Chucks from none other than Converse. Got here at 5 in the morning for the Off white Converse drop... I guess they gave out special wrist bands 2 days earlier for people who came early and if you don't have a wrist band you can't get the shoes. I've never heard of a crap system like this. read more

Im giving this review 5 stars for the store AND for my experience with one of your employees. I went into this store the other day on a whim and had an amazing experience! I am especially thankful to your associate Sean B (I believe that was his name, tall, African American, bearded gentleman)...He was great! At first I came in to just look around seeing as the store was new and I was in the area and I ended up purchasing a pair of freedom trail Chuck Taylor's. He was very knowledgable about the products but didn't have a pushy demeanor. He really made me feel comfortable and was great at giving me an appropriate amount of knowledge and space to shop. I'll definitely be back and will definitely be telling people about this store. Great store, pretty location, and definitely see Sean B if you need help with anything! He's very genuine and won't have you feeling like they are pressed for a sale or just want your money. You guys have a great employee on your hands and I wish you guys the best with the store! I would give this store a 5 star rating had my first experience been as well as my second. The first time I went to this store was to get custom converses made. Keep in mind these are not cheap. I was so happy with what I thought I was going to be getting when I left the store. The staff was helpful, so I thought. Flash forward a few weeks and my shoes are entirely too big. I couldn't figure out why. I asked around and people were like that is the fit and I doubled checked the size of what the store associate said I wore. Turns out that the store associate wrote down the wrong size. We were told repeatedly not to write down our size in the store and that the store associate would tell us. Now here I am with too big shoes. So when I go back there the next time to get another pair of converses made and figure out what went wrong and return the other ones. I was informed that there is nothing that they can do because they are custom made and they no longer have the fabric. So basically I was out of luck over an error that their store associate made. I don't know where customer service went but it does not live there. My second time was splendid! I did keep an eye on the woman and have here confirm exactly what she was doing for each step because clearly it was my job to make sure she was doing her job. She was a sport about it since she knew my current situation and what happened last time with my shoes. Moral of the story, if you have never been here. Question everything they do and make them go over everything. Double check everything and ask how long they have been working there because if they mess up it is completely on you. Staff is attentive and the selection is incredible. A little hard to find the first time (it's just tucked in a bit of a weird spot), but worth it. You can customize a pair of sneakers with your own images or stuff from their extensive library, swapping out the grommets and laces as well, or you can sign up for their full customization experience, which allows you to build your shoe start to finish (including cutting your own fabric). Pricing is on par with standard Converse stores, and the extra cost of customization is well worth the price. read more

This is the Converse Headquarters which is a pretty cool deal as is... But I walked inside and informed them that I had been in search of a pair of Chuck Taylor's to accommodate my lifting needs recently, then I came to Boston on vacation to learn of the headquarters just across the street from where I was staying. I was helped immediately and I wanted to try on a couple different styles and they were brought to me quickly. They were not pushy or overbearing, very helpful, and even struck up some good conversation. One of them handed me a discount card that exceeded their already AWESOME 20% military discount so my first experience blew all expectations out of the water!
