I cannot express how lucky I was to have found Nikki for my big day! She is excellent at corresponding and getting back to you in a timely manner, but that is only second to her OUTSTANDING artistry. I'm big into my makeup so I was nervous about having someone else do it, but definitely wanted to be pampered on my big day. I met Nikki at our trial a few months before the wedding and I felt like we were instant friends. She is extremely friendly, outgoing, and it feels like you are hanging out with your bestie, which is exactly what I wanted. Her makeup collection (which I am certain I saw only a fraction) is a plenty! She really knows what she is doing and I was EXTREMELY happy with my results. I found Nikki because I was searching for a hair & makeup artist for my wedding. All the estimates in my research were SHOCKINGLY expensive and did not even include a trial; you had to pay for that separately. Everyone's reviews of these people were the same: fantastic person who did a wonderful job. But the problem was the prices. I was getting really disappointed because I'm a teacher & don't make enough money to justify what seems to be the going rate (low end $600), but I really am adamant that a professional do my hair and makeup for the big day. When I contacted Nikki I was expecting the same thing. She got back to me right away, and her prices were so good, I thought it was too good to be true. She was almost HALF the cost of the others AND she includes a hair trial as a part of her price. I was immediately interested and we set up an appointment to meet. I made an appointment at the NARS counter in Saks Fifth Avenue on Union Square, as Nikki was going to be working there one weekend. I have never set foot in a Saks in my life and was immediately intimidated the second I stepped in. It was clear that I was not a legitimate customer, but I wandered around anyway looking for the NARS counter. The sales/makeup ladies did not speak to me at all or ask what I was looking for, except for one. She noticed me, said hello, and was very sweet. I kept walking, looking for Nikki, and low and behold, that same sweet sales lady that I passed WAS Nikki! I didn't see the NARS counter when I passed by her the first time. At any rate, that instantly set her apart from everyone else and spoke volumes about her personality. Nikki is clearly an industry pro. Her resume is impressive. She was so knowledgable and explained everything she was doing as well as answered every question I had. She also LISTENED to me. I do not wear makeup at all and, although I definitely want someone to help day-of-wedding, my biggest fear is that I will look "made up." She responded so well to my concerns and at the end of my appt I left as a fresh, polished version of my normal self. It was exactly what I wanted! A clean, uncomplicated, natural look! She chose exactly the right colors for my skin tone and knew exactly what to emphasize. My fiancee LOVED it. I even bought the NARS tinted moisturizer she used because I liked it so much. On top of her unbelievable pricing and incredible finished product, Nikki is such a genuine and kind person. I felt immediately at ease with her and you could tell she does what she does because she absolutely loves it. She is so sweet and fun and has a way of making you feel completely comfortable instantly. I am SOLD. Nikki is a gem and you should absolutely contact her if you're looking for someone to do hair/makeup for any event you have. I cannot wait to see what she does on my wedding day. Nikki just finished doing my makeup and hair for a wedding i am attending and she was the best! She came to my home because i had my kids with me and just couldnt get to the salon. She was very sweet and made me feel comfortable. She even put lipstick on my daughter when she wouldnt stop bugging lol. My daughter being around wasnt even an issue. As soon as I spoke with Nikki during my wedding planning she put my mind at ease. My husband and I planned a destination wedding in wine country for August 2015, and Nikki was recommended by a friend of a friend during this time. Initially, I was nervous about finding someone I could trust to do my hair and makeup without having the opportunity to meet them in person first. But Nikki was PHENOMENAL. When we spoke in April, Nikki confirmed my dates and helped me plan the details regarding how and where my trial and wedding day prep would take place. When my wedding rolled around, we first completed my trial in San Francisco prior to leaving for wine country and Nikki was prompt in getting to me and extremely prepared. When I gave feedback on my style, Nikki was attentive and was able to tweak things to exactly my preference. She was both professional and amazingly friendly. She felt a lot like someone I'd known much longer than several days, which put me at ease. On my actual wedding day, Nikki was again very prompt in arrival. She made my bridesmaids look and feel amazing, and spent a long time pampering me as I (VERY nervously) prepped for my walk down the aisle! All in all I couldn't have felt any more beautiful than I did after Nikki was done with me.
