Niles Vet Clinic provided my cat and I with the care, service and understanding we missed at our previous vet of 4 years. They truly care and were very comprehensive in explaining our situation. Dr. Simon called me to follow with test results and showed kindness as I cried. I appreciated her outline of options and insights into what I might expect. They also were proactive about calling in a prescription that would be "better tasting" through a compounding pharmacy. I had to ask my previous vet for this service. Today I had to call to euthanize my cat, they got me in ASAP and provided a soothing environment and caring hands as we said goodbye to our fur baby. Thank you all so much! read more

My 5 year old Jack Russell Terrier had a major blockage in his intestine, so we called Niles Vet Clinic they told us that they had no appointments and refered us to MEDVET in Girard. We then took him there and had X-Rays done and found the blockage they gave him fluids and told us to call his vet in the morning to get him Emergency Surgery. I then called Niles Vet Clinic when they opened the following morning and again they told us they couldnt get him in even though it was a life and death situation. My Dog has been a patient of Niles Vet Clinic for 5 years. and because he wasnt a patient at any other vet we couldnt get him the help he needed locally. So I then rushed him to Akron MEDVET. They were very understand and he had the surgery within a couple of hours. I will NOT take my dog back to Niles Veterinary Clinic EVER and I do NOT reccomend them to anyone!!!! read more

Do not get a pet health certificate for international travel here! Their accreditation needs to be revoked immediately if they don't know why they are doing, can't read information provided, and want to place blame on their customer. Even though they are listed as accredited by the USDA, my vet was very uninformed about the process. Every time I tried to explain what was needed and that I actually had spoken with USDA/APHIS, they ignored what I had said (both email, over the phone and in person). Casey Simon was the vet doing my pets' certificates; she is not the vet listed on the USDA/APHIS website and incorporated her own rules. I already had rabies shots for all of my animals by their regular vet; only reason I had to go to a different vet because mine was not accredited with USDA. She said in an email that I needed to get new rabies shots with a statement saying that the microchip was read before the vaccination. I called APHIS to validate this and the agent said no as the rabies certificate showing the microchip would be sufficient. My pets received new rabies vaccinations just in case and this was sent in an email to Niles Veterinary Clinic. On my appointment, Casey Simon refused to look at any of my document (if she would have she would have seen the correct European Union form she was supposed to fill out). I explained the VEHCS process several times in email, over the phone, and in person. Casey Simon was adamant that we do it her way. This meant my pets had to receive an additional rabies vaccination, my travel plans had to be cancelled/rebooked (expensive) and she gave me my paperwork to send in myself to USDA/APHIS. Sent my documents to USDA/APHIS overnight express mail ($86) only to find out that she filled out wrong form (7001) that isn't for the European Union. Got in contact with Niles Veterinary service as soon as I got off the phone with USDA/APHIS and the agent sent them an email as well) only to have Casey Simon shift blame and ask several times who "told you this"? This was followed up with several rude conversations by Casey Simon saying that it was my responsibility to look over the forms and make sure everything is right because they don't do this regularly they can't guarantee anything. While it is my responsibility to ensure there are no typos, it is not my job to ensure the correct forms are filled out given that they pull the forms from the VEHCS database. Casey Simon called again later in the day and was very unprofessional and still trying to place the blame of the paperwork being filled out incorrectly as me not doing preparation on my part. She tried to accuse me of yelling which I corrected her and said I wasn't as I was driving and then she shifted to I was over talking her. This quickly escalated to her saying to just move to Sweden and have a nice life there very rudely. She refused to read what the VEHCS actually stated regarding electronic submission - ALL countries accept electronic submission of documents- however, we would need to have the official stamped documentation when traveling. This is why APHIS asks for prepaid shipping to return docs- which we had prepaid for. Casey Simon was very argumentative and combative and said this was costing her time and money to send by VEHCS- this after she filled out the wrong forms and I paid for express shipping and they wanted me to pick up the forms again to express ship on my end again! Next day I received a text that I needed to pay an additional $152 to pay for using the VEHCS and they wouldn't push my paperwork through until that was paid. I had already emailed USDA/APHIS the day before in order to receive confirmation that my paperwork was received and knew that it had. I texted back I had already paid for my health certificates and Casey Simon was calling me again! She finally read about VEHCS in a screenshot I sent in response to her text and said it would have been great if they had this information beforehand (even though they did). She started to get rude again and I politely informed her that she was on speakerphone with several witnesses hearing the conversation and that I would not tolerate how she spoke to me the day before. She then got very emotional and messy by stating how she was very tired and had a long day and was stressed. She stated she was up until 10 the night before working on my paperwork and that I needed to learn how to be kind to others and don't ever call here again. Well this is my kindness to others- don't work with incompetent "professionals" with bloated egos who don't have the answers and are too foolish to admit that. read more

Second of all, we adopted a cat from Cats are People Too and because our cat had a few fleas on him, they called Cats Are People Too and tried to REPORT us to them. Sorry we have a dog that goes outdoors and the dog got into some tall grass. What this is really about is my wife refused their OVERPRICED flea treatment and they were bitter about it. The ONLY reason we even came to your vet was because the first two visits were covered. Our cat is doing just fine and is completely rid of fleas now. My advice is to avoid this vet at all costs. They really don't care about the animals; they only care about fattening their wallets! read more

The staff, that I encountered at least, were amazing. My pup has suffered from skin problems for a long while and they were so helpful. I was not able to go in with my pup because of the COVID-19 precautions, but the woman who came out to get my pup was so careful and caring with him. She talked to him on the way in and walked slow so he wasn't scared. She even asked if he was allowed treats. I definitely felt he was taken care of. He came out and seemed happy enough. Although I did get a rebate code for a discount on meds, the overall price was a bit high compared to vets we've visited in the past. I understand things are harder to communicate just from phone calls between myself and the staff so I wasn't aware of what was going to be done to/for my pet until it was all said and done and they called for my card number. Regardless, my pup needed help and they were able to help. I will be bringing my pup back. read more

I'v been to PLENTY of vets and this clinic by far is the best. I say 'clinic' b/c ALL dr.s there are very good and well prepared.. It doesn't matter WHO your pet is being seen by b/c before they enter the room, THEY READ THE CHART! They are informed on your pets past history and are ready to treat and/or diagnose whith all previous health history. I would like to find a dr. like that to treat me. Thier staff is helpful and well informed. They are always polite and explain medications & treatments. NOT unnusually high priced for the high end treatment your pet gets. read more

Dr. Lucas and Dr. Ford (she was filling in for a while) are wonderful, love both ladies. The care our animals received was great, doctors are knowledgeable, staff is nice, fast in and out appointments. Dr.Lucas didn't push the high cost treatment for our dog's skin lesion but was open minded about different (lower cost) treatment. Thankfully, it worked well for our dog. Dr.Lucas always explains all the procedures and answers all my questions. She really cares about the animals' health and well being. read more
