I almost called the business to request a credit on my order. Woke up this morning feeling nauseated with no energy . Later had chills but thank God I scheduled my order pickup last night for 1pm today. I did eat and took prescribed nausea medication after having a shower before returning to bed .I really didn't want to have to request a credit as I wasn't sure I could make it there but there was good chance that I would feel better as miracles still happen. It has been awhile since I have ordered from their full menu on the first Sunday of the month . Thankfully the owner was working at the window . He. asked me to check my order , when I opened my to go container I ordered dressing and mashed potatoes . I meant to have ordered some collard greens . Food was still warm upon my arrival back to my house. . I enjoy their 1st Sunday soul food menu. Baked dark skin chicken dressing, mash potatoes with gravy and a soft roll. I absolutely love this place. Is a very nice black owned restaurant that's right by Dollar General in Mesquite off Beltline Rd. The man was very nice and attentive and recommended a lot of great options. I ended up ordering the 9 piece 24k Gold flavor wings and my goodness was is savory and with a tangy sweet taste to it. The fries were very much well crispy and plenty. I also ordered a daiquiri with octane and peach flavor and it was VERY nice (if you get what I mean). Ehh, went thru the drive-thru hungry and was hungry after I tried the food too. I ordered catfish and fries; the fish looked good but tasted bland, not one bit of seasoning and it was crunchy on the outside but mushy on the inside. I would never go back here ever. We placed an order for Uber Eats pickup... we arrive and they act like they don't see our order. We show them the order receipt and magically our order is going to be prepared in 15 minutes. The person at the drive thru window wasn't much help either. Meanwhile after we received our $29 order, we open the box and the amount of food they give you for the price is ridiculous. It really is a rip off!!! Daquari:A+++ I tried the peach and mango mixed together. The flavors blended perfectly together, the alcohol content was on point. The 16oz for $7 bucks definitely gave me a buzz. The 3pc HH wing combo: C- They serve wing sections, so in my opinion they may want to reconsider the amount they provide due to the size. The meal came with 3 flats and an order of fries. For $6 bucks I felt the portions sizes were small. Especially since you're only receiving 3 undersized wings, they could've gave more fries to accommodate. However I will say the flavor on the wings (lemon pepper) was OUTSTANDING!!! I would definitely recommend that flavor. Would I visit this establishment again. They are good here not a huge selection of flavors as most are made from a machine and the prices compared to other spots are significantly higher. Man that shit was The BOMB.COM. Ran me about $20 bucks for my meal today but it was totally worth it! I ordered the Hot chicken wings/with fries plus the 16oz Hurricane Diaquiri w/ one Tequila shot. The wings were absolutely amazing! Spicy and exactly what I was looking for. Fries were really good as well. A friend recommended this hidden gem in my home town. I am so glad!! I decided on a whim to pop on by because said friend mentioned their TO GO daiquiris in different sizes packaged nicely in plastic jugs. I called when I got there not being sure of their process. The polite young gentleman who answered the phone was very helpful and kind. He directed me to the drive up window where he continued to help me. It was lunch time so I decided to try some food. Staff is friendly, food is just ok. There arent many places in mesquite that serves soulfood/chitterlings. Before a side of chitterlings were $10, today I visited and ordered some and gave the lady a $20 & she gave me $6 back with no receipt. Once she returned to the window I explained that I didnt order the plate, just a side, well she explained their prices had gone up. $14 for a side is crazy! Food is okay, they are very slow and make sure you check your order before you leave because they've messed mine up plenty of times. Also call before you go because there's been plenty times I show up and they are not even there even if their hours say they are open. Not sure why I keep trying this place..they are not consistent, have given me Kroger fried chicken before as if they cooked it, and the food is just OKAY.
