    Omgoodness - so so good!
    Dani G.

The BBQ is fricken amazing!!!! Highly recommend- we also got the chili cheese burrito which was delicious!! Coming from Southern California, this place is very "Texas'ish" rock and roll country live band, a comfortable and very down to earth atmosphere- a mix of young and old, besides their barbecue being so delicious and finger, licking good, one of the more popular items is their baked potato, so popular that they are out here and there,, so if you're looking for a big Texas style baked potatoes this is the place, I would recommend calling to ensure they have them. Service is A+ and I am not sure if it's the owner or manager, yet he comes around to say hello and ensure all is okay / often with a plate of something new to try! Okay with all that said! Highly recommend!!! We will be back!! And Randy our server / Manager is so nice! Thank you for everything

We came in near closing time, but Emilia provided us great service and stayed attentive even though they were clearly packed. We were seated at a table near the door, and unfortunately it had a vomit smell. Whatever it was, my friend could not stand it and had to get up and step away from the table. We first thought the culprit was the paper drink coasters, but then the staff removed the door mat near us later on, so maybe someone puked on it and the smell lingered, even after it was cleaned up. Clear Mizu ($16): This has Sakura vermouth and bitters, so we ordered it. It tasted like straight up gin and was not good. It was actually one of the rare times my husband could not finish his drink. Kyoto Sunset ($15): This one wasn't bad and tasted like honeydew. The ingredients include honeydew Calpico, so that makes sense. Johnny Walker Black ($16): This was our friend's drink, which I think was just coke and Johnny Walker. Nothing special about the taste either. Given the smell and so-so/terrible cocktails, we will not be coming back or taking our friends here.

The attention to detail is incredible. We started with the queso blanco, which is served in a volcanic stone bowl that keeps it perfectly warm and creamy far longer than a traditional bowl. It was absolutely delicious, and the portion was enormous. Honestly, six people could easily share it and still have plenty before the main course arrived. For our entrée, we ordered the chicken fajitas. The chicken was well-marinated, the presentation was beautiful, and both the rice and beans were excellent. Now for the few things keeping this from being a five-star experience. First, the tortillas. They tasted like packaged grocery store tortillas...think Mission brand. For me, freshly made tortillas are almost non-negotiable at a Mexican restaurant. When everything else is this thoughtfully prepared, packaged tortillas feel completely out of place. Second--and this is a hill I'm willing to die on--I ordered a Diet Coke and was told they only serve Coke Zero. I'm sorry, but those are not the same thing. Every Diet Coke fan understands this. Finally, the noise level was overwhelming. There was a soccer game on the TVs with the audio blasting throughout the restaurant. It was so loud that carrying on a conversation was difficult, and even hearing our waitress required her to lean in right next to us. This isn't a sports bar; it's a beautifully themed restaurant that happens to have a bar. The game didn't need to dominate the atmosphere. Overall, the restaurant is stunning, the food is very good, and the attention to detail is exceptional. If they started making fresh tortillas, offered Diet Coke as an option, and turned off the TV audio, this would be an easy 5+ star experience for me.

The service felt distant and rushed. Our server seemed unfamiliar with the menu, gave us conflicting information about drink availability, and rarely checked on us. We specifically asked not to be rushed, yet our entrées arrived while we were only a quarter of the way through our appetizer. At one point, our food was delivered while we were outside getting fresh air. The food was also disappointing. The scallops and chicken were extremely salty and lacked flavor, and the chicken was overcooked. When we brought it up, the server did little to address it. To top it off, we saw two large cockroaches around our table, which was especially noticeable in the dark dining room. The cocktails were the highlight, but overall, the service, food, pacing, and cleanliness did not meet expectations. One star. Very disappointing, and I'm not sure I'll be back.

The Egusi Soup was delicious (one meat was a bit tough in this soup but not in my sisters Okra Soup), the price for the portion was not ok. The dish came out in a lovely brown wooden bowl, but the bowl was way too small for the price point. I have traveled all over in the US and in Africa and I can say this was one of the best soups I have ever tasted!!!! The flavor was 10 out of 10 ! I did speak with the young man that was there about that price and portion ratio , he was very polite. I think price and portion need to be revisited in order to keep customers coming back. Don't change the flavor at all!!! The drinks are very good as well as the price, we had Rum Punch. The restaurant was very clean as well; there is a sink available to wash your hands you don't have to go into a restroom to do that (reminds me of some African restaurants when I travel aboard) Also, the menu price on the menu is not what my sister was charged she had the Okra Soup and the menu stated $20 but she was charged $25 we questioned the young man due to the menu having one price and my sister being charged another, he did advise the price on the menu is being updated. I think customers should be alerted when an order is placed that the price on the menu is not the correct price before it is rang up in the cash register. I think a paper print out of the correct price will be ok until the new menu/QR scan menu is ready. We spent $80, if I am going to spend that much on a meal I don't want to be hungry in 3 hours or at least have enough to take with me to eat later and reheat at home as leftover. Also, the friend that suggested this place did warn me about the portions, but I was like ok let me go see for myself. I am only giving a 3 star due to the price and portion if the soup

The oxtails were okay cooked with Lima beans or a bean, which should be lighter, I think and less salt. We as a community, need to welcome this place. It's, new and growing bigger and better. A business cannot perfect when we are not exploring yes? The customer service is A-1. They care a lot. Even though I have not eaten all of the foods, my best dish was the SUYA COMBO; the best in town and not overly spicy, it was just right. This place is New, and as Africans/Americans, MK needs your service. Again I like to welcome you guys here, and pray for your continued success! The Atmosphere of MK's is good to go party style planning or private party even, they have lots of room to hold you down, very professional on their view upon arrival...
