That's exactly what I found at Yemaso BJJ. From my very first email, Professor Marcos was incredibly responsive and took the time to explain how everything worked. Before I even stepped on the mats, I came in to observe a class. He introduced himself, welcomed me, and explained what I'd be watching. You could immediately tell how passionate he is about teaching and how much he cares about his students. Watching the class, I was impressed by how organized, structured, and well-run everything was. The academy was clean, the instruction was clear, and everyone--from the instructors to the students--was friendly and respectful. There was no ego, just a great atmosphere where people genuinely wanted to help each other improve. I signed up that same day, and now, three weeks later, I have zero regrets. Professor Marcos and all of the instructors have been incredibly patient, especially with someone starting from scratch. I've already made new friends, learned more than I expected, and genuinely look forward to every class. Whether you're looking to compete, learn self-defense, get in shape, or enroll your child in a positive environment, I can't recommend Yemaso BJJ enough. My family and I visited for the first time today so my daughter could check out a class before deciding if she wanted to join. Coaches Patrick and Jenna were beyond friendly and were nothing short of kind and patient with helping my daughter as were the other students in her class. They offer a kids class 3 days a week for $150 a month - you can go as many of the 3 days as you'd like so you essentially could get 12 classes a month for $150. That is a great deal! They also offer plenty of adult classes and even an open mat day! The inside was very clean and had 2 separate sitting areas - they also have a huge gym area. My daughter loved the class and we will be signing up so she can attend officially! I highly recommend Capitol Jiu Jitsu!

We lived in Elk Grove and would drive the boys here, three days a week. The boys's dad wasn't very interested, but after time, he ended up appreciating us signing up. (He also became an instructor)! We had so much fun, and learned so much from other parents. We grew very close to all the families, traveled to all the tournaments and spent time with our kids. Over the years, the families started to fall, and most ended up getting divorced. Still the discipline that was taught, the accomplishments that were achieved, were a great part of being with the club. Thanks to the Takeda family, and all the sensei's past and present for dedicating your life to a truly great sport! Miss you guys!

In the end, you will be the best judoka of you, all you need is passion and commitment. In conclusion, the Sacremento Judo Club is a great judo club that I recommend to all you judokas or people wanting to learn self defense.
