Kristen to the rescue! Kristen came up on a random google search, promptly responded to my email and I crossed my fingers we ended up with some good photos. I could not have imagined what an absolute joy it was to meet her and what amazing memories she captured! It was a small backyard party but Kristen was so professional and thorough - it mattered as much to her as a huge wedding. She was amazing with the small children and even better with the nervous in front of the camera grandparents! Kristen took pictures of every detail, the "big" moments and more importantly the small moments. Having a baby during covid meant that we missed out on capturing some of his first year with family and friends. Initial meeting - After calling a company who must have had Calvin Harris djing for him with his rates We found Ernest and realized his rates were right in our budget! both my fiance and I live in Virginia but we got married in New Jersey. So we didn't have a lot of free time to set up meetings. Ernest scheduled on the exact day we were going to be in town and was a pleasure to have lunch with. Immediately we knew we wanted to use him. Songs and song choices- my fiance and I delayed getting this to them until about a week before the wedding. To make it even worse we sent them about 10 songs and the wedding party / first dance songs.. Never once did he get upset, check in on us, or say he couldn't do anything. It was all met with a "great or no problem" in fact he even took my call on a random Tuesday night because we had no idea how to do the scheduling. He helped with all of that!!!! Wedding- well let's just say that everyone danced their booties off!!! With a very diverse family including kids he managed to work in poppy songs for the kids, 60's & 70's songs for the adults, dance/ rap for us and our friends.. We got compliments on how great of a job they did. Keep in mind that 10 song list I sent was done so he knew what type of music we wanted to listen to. At 10 songs it's hard to fill 3 hours of dancing and Ernest picked songs that blended perfect and everyone enjoyed. If you've made it this far reading, thank you! Juliana took the time to really get to know me and the things that meant most to me about Molly. She carefully chose a scenic location that wouldn't overwhelm her and while Molly was a bit uncooperative (at that age, she didn't care what anyone told her to do), Juliana was so patient with her and worked with us to capture the most amazing moments. During our design consultation, Juliana wowed me with a beautiful slideshow of my photos and helped me select images which she later included in a gorgeous portrait box that I now display in my home. After finishing our beers, we journeyed across the street and were greeted by the lovely Lovina. After seeing the work and meeting her we were impressed, but she insisted we make an appointment to come back and meet John so we could get a better feel for the company as a whole. She was very helpful and up-front about availability and pricing, so after we set our date two weeks later I contacted them immediately to set up an appointment. John and Lovina worked around my schedule and met us late on a Thursday night since I commute in and out of the city and they were busy on the weekends with weddings. They spent over an hour and a half talking through our wedding ideas, learning about our venue, getting to know our personalities and showing us various examples of their work. Never once did we feel rushed or pressured in any way. My fiance hates posing and pushy photographers he's dealt with in the past for friend's weddings. When we let John know this, he was quick to explain that he will do only what we want and he is fast with the posed family shots, bridal party, etc. We were so impressed with them that we booked them the next day and are taking them with us to Wilmington, Delaware next April! Our engagement pictures were phenomenal and John did a great job of capturing us with natural expressions while also integrating some artistic and posed shots into the mix. He met with us on 4th of July weekend after shooting THREE weddings and was still energetic as could be, which made the whole experience a fun time.
