It's been years since we have been to Ninos. Walking in it's always nice to see a familiar face. We chatted for a while and found out he and his family are the owners for about four years now. We always wondered where he was working and now we know. We placed our orders. California Chicken cheesesteak and meatball parm both with fries. Whoa now, a new Italian restaurant right up the road? You had my curiosity, but now you have my attention! At this stage in my life, I will never not eat at a new Italian restaurant. They simply offer everything I want. Subs, salads, pizza, strombolis, pasta... OH MAN. Those are the true five food groups right there. I wish I grew up in an Italian family so I could eat those ev day. So, what does Nino's do well? The chicken in their chicken pasta dishes i.e. Marsala and piccata. So juicy and tender. They pound it out, flour it up, and sauté it in a pan. Really locks in the juices. Love the fact that you can choose your pasta in each dish as well. They aren't forcing spaghetti down your throat. Go with whatever floats your boat - fettuccini, linguini, penne, rigatoni, ziti, or my personal favorite: angel hair. One bummer about the piccata - I had to add my capers and red pepper flakes. Ok, red pepper isn't required per se, but capers? That's a main ingredient, isn't it? Luckily I had a little jar in my fridge ready to go. Oh, and the Marsala sauce was kinda weak to be honest. Wasn't really enough sauce to cover all the pasta and what little sauce was there didn't have a whole lot of flavor. The Antipasto salad was good. Lots of meat. People who get Antipasto salads or chef salads of Italian salads get them for the meat. They want to eat lots of meat but give the appearance of eating healthy to onlookers because of the lettuce factor. "Hey chef, can you pile a huge mound of deli meat on top of a handful of lettuce to give the illusion that I'm eating healthy? Thanks!" Last but not least, we have Nino's Special pizza (pepperoni, sweet sausage, green pepper, mushrooms, onions and bacon). It was perfectly acceptable. The crust was thinner than I expected, but it had a nice crunch. And the mushrooms were canned. I suppose this is the norm? They used fresh mushrooms in the chicken marsala, but canned mushrooms as a pizza topping. Mushrooms don't have a long shelf life, so I can totally understand why they do this. Pasta dishes are a bit on the pricy side ($19 - $22), but they do come with a small salad and bread. So yeah, not gonna be an everyday lunch destination unless you've got Bezos money, but when I want to splurge after a day of hardship (i.e. going outside to get the mail), Nino's will be my reward. read more

Ordered a chicken cheesesteak. Menu description says Fried onions, American cheese, and chicken. However, they add marinara sauce. I don't understand why in Berks County, places just add marinara sauce. Roll is not good. Also ordered chicken parm sandwich. The chicken is cut up into small pieces and put on the roll instead of cutlets. Roll is not good. read more

What a hidden gem!!! Ignore the older reviews! Great food, good service, friendly staff (looks family owned and run), and a nice atmosphere. We asked our waiter when it changed hands, and he said they it's been "a few years." Don't let the location fool you. Nino's is far better than I expected from a place tucked into a step mall. So, like I said, ignore the older, bad reviews. It's too bad that Yelp can't remove those. They really have nothing to do with the current establishment. read more

Stopped in for a bite after driving 12 hours since it was right down the street from my hotel. I talked with the two brothers behind the counter and they were very friendly and welcoming to their restaurant. I was recommended the Chicken Parmesan dinner and it was absolutely fantastic. The dinner salad was fresh and crisp. The chicken parm was done to perfection. The pasta was great but the best in my opinion was the small detail of an added warm basket of bread. I highly recommend the place because it is a family run operation offering great food at a reasonable price. read more

i can't even begin to describe how ass this place is. i got this pizza that was deceptive yet horrible. i proceeded to pull my pizza out of the box, and as soon as i set my eyes on it, i knew it was a piece of shit. it looked like it tasted like the back of a dogs ballsack. i pulled it out of the box and it was a literal pool of grease. could fill up an olympic swimming pool of grease with the amount it had. the next day my friend and i proceeded to walk to a local restaurant in the city to make up for this trash food and as we were walking there, the grease was so strong that it began to drip down my hands and soon i was soaked in grease. it was then and there i vowed to never return to this vile scum bag hole of a restaurant. read more

I stopped here for the first time to get a Chicken Caesar Salad to go. It cost me $15.85! I could not believe it. So I was like ok well this better be a fabulous salad....well it was not, it was ok, but not for $15.85!! Plus they had no tomatoes, but replaced it with mushrooms...great. I was served iceberg lettuce and big pieces of the white parts of the lettuce. The chicken was a decent amount. One little container of dressing and a huge bread roll! I will never go here again. Way overpriced for a freakin salad with iceberg lettuce and even if it was Romaine, UH NO!! Three of us had lunch at Nino's yesterday and were very pleased. The hamburger was delicious and the personal pizzas we ordered (one pineapple, one margherita) were very good. Definitely will be going back. read more

Nino's is under new management since summer 2021. Today I had the best wedding soup I've ever had in my entire life. I've had a lot of wedding soups. This tasted the way I would imagine they make it in Italy. Normally I wouldn't consider ordering soup but the special of the day was free soup, fries or salad with purchase of any sandwich. The Italian hoagie was really delicious, close to the Philly hoagie style. Lettuce and onions MUST be shredded, and yes, they were very thinly sliced. The hoagie was on a regular hoagie roll which was good because the last time, the bread made from pizza dough was too hard and crunchy. I'm looking forward to going back for a cheesesteak and I'll try a salad- preferably Caesar. The pizza looked delicious and they have very tempting daily deals on whole pizzas too. read more

I love Nino's! A Berkshire Heights staple that I've been going to since I was a kid. I live in NJ now but any time I go home to visit my mom and she recommends getting Nino's for dinner, I'm all about it. They have the best pizza in the area and while other pizza places have changed owners, closed down, or changed names throughout the years: Nino's stands strong. Very disappointed in my recent order. I ordered delivery , which did arrive very quickly. I ordered a salad which was $13 and was very basic and un-exciting. The tomatoes were slices that should have gone on a sandwich. The crispy chicken was simply chicken fingers cut up.. and they forgot my dressing. I ordered a side of meatballs for my daughter which were a little bigger than a starbucks cake pop and were extremely watery. $31 later, very upset I wasted my money. read more

Don't go here if you are not one of their regulars. The one waitress moves at a snail's pace and talks excessively to her regular customers. We felt like second class citizens. It took a long time to get our drinks and bread / butter. When the bread finally came, we had no silverware and hence could not spread on any butter. When asking questions about the menu, the waitress didn't answer them. Instead she just said that everything here is amazing. The chicken parmesan was $22.99. I've never paid more for a simple piece of chicken and noodles in my life. The portion wasn't even big. The food tasted ok...nothing special. Sorry I chose this place for a surprise pizza treat for my 6-year-old after an early dismissal. Wobbly table sent his large pepperoni to the floor even before he had taken his first bite. Never mind a replacement, the management condescendingly offered $2 off AFTER I saw the bill and wondered aloud about our lunch landing on the floor because of the unstable table. That said, when I pointed out that we were not served the bread&butter while we waited nearly 10 minutes for our order of pizza and salad, and which I noticed was being offered to the other diners around us, the manager offers some lame excuses and then says: "I can pack you some bread to take home" Huh?!?!?! Completely ruined our day. Plus, the service and attitude made it very obvious they don't value us as patrons. So not taking my business or friends there again. read more

I'm writing this for two reasons: (1) to warn others away; and (2) to remind myself that a hundred better options are less than ten minutes from here. The pizza is flavorless cardboard (and overpriced). A side order of fries is equally unsavory (and overpriced). The staff is surly and unpleasant. The "atmosphere" is non-existent. I've never had a good meal here but stupidly talked myself into going back one time too often (always thinking to myself, "Benefit of the doubt...might have just been a bad day last time"). Went for dinner tonight and had a passable meal of Chicken Brushetta, which had nothing to do with "Brushetta", but instead a well pounded chicken breast filet topped with tomato pieces. The chicken was not over cooked, although I wished the tomato was more in season. Side of pasta with red sauce was pretty good, unlike most places, where it is a throw away. Salad greens were fresh, although could have been torn into smaller pieces. Desserts were all externally prepared and I declined. Atmosphere was pizza shop. I am a regular at Nino's. Wide variety of dishes and if asked Nino will improvise for an off the menu selection. My favorite is Chicken Marsala with the pasta in the same sauce. Pasta Fagioli and Lentil soups are very good. My group of wine drinking friends have Nino's high on our list of places to go where we can BYOB of wine and enjoy it with great Italian food. This pleasant BYOB has become a regular stop for us and the owners have become friends. Our once or twice a week visits are rewarded with consistently delicious traditional italian dishes prepared with fresh ingredients and lots of love. Try the Picatta or the homemade Raviolis. There are few places where I'll order veal...but this is one where I can order with ful confidence that I will aleays get tender medallions complimented by sauces that preserve the veal's delicate flavor. And in my opinion this is THE ONLY place to eat pizza anywhere near Reading. We don't eat pizza on Sundays anymore at our house because Nino's is closed on Sunday. So skip the chains with consistently blase' offerings and the 30-40 minute waits. Take your family here, meet some friends, or take a date and be rewared with generous portions of great italian fare and a truly friendly environment. First time I went was great so I went back, never again. Wanted to eat in but dinning area was too cold, so I politely asked to have my order changed to go. Got a bit of a tude but just let it pass but when I got back to my room and heated up my Stromboli I found a chewed piece of peppermint gum stuck to the bottom. It was under the food between it and the foil in the box. I'm guess that this was no accident. Very bad, I will never recommend it to the other traveling engineers when in town. read more

I go for the fresh rolls they use to make sandwiches. Last 2 times the rolls were not fresh and almost stale. Something has changed with the rolls but not fresh like the used to be. I will give one more chance and if roll stale I will never go back. read more

Fast and friendly service and very good pizza and cheesesteaks. There is something for everyone on the menu, reasonably priced entres, and it's bring your own wine. I do like small places where the owner is visible and obviously cares about what he is doing. read more

From the outside it looks like a little pizza takeout spot--from the inside too. However, we did sit down and order Shrimp Parm and Seafood Alfredo. The food is really, really, really good. They do alot of takeout business but I suggest sitting down and ordering from the menu. Staff was nice, not over friendly except with customers who appeared to be regulars. We love Nino's in Wyomissing for lunch and dinner. Service is great. There is a pleasant, family atmosphere. We've had many delicious entrees at Nino's. But, I recently had Linguini with Clams in a wine, butter sauce. Unfortunately, this entree was not seasoned enough. Needed more garlic, salt and pepper, and perhaps some lemon? And, the clams were chopped up like they came from a can or from large clams. I've had Linguini with Clams at other restaurants, where I had whole little neck clams. We will go back, but I just won't order the Linguini with Clams. I hope Nino's can improve on this entree since I wasn't as happy with it as some other food I've had there. read more

Very disappointed. Absolutely terrible service. I have no idea why our waitress was in the service field. She had no idea what she was doing. Most everyone at our table had a mistake to the order. We were charged more for items then were listed on the menu. When we brought this to their attention we got nothing but attitude from them. It's seem to be our fault there was an error in their menu. All that said, the food was decent. However, due to the terrible service and attitude of the staff there It certainly isn't worth returning to. read more

I went to Nino's for the first time with my family on a Friday evening. I was shocked when the bill came to find we were charged for every soda refill. This is Berks County and not a resort area. The waitress was border line rude. The food was average to below average. We will NEVER return. read more
