We came for the dueling pianos and enjoyed the entertainment. Nip N Tuck is a local pub with that feel. Entertainment was good. Food was typical pub fare. We both enjoyed their Fried Shrimp with cocktail sauce. Service was less than ideal. After more than 15 minutes at our table, waiting for a server to bring us a menu or offer us something to drink, I went to the bar to see if we could get served. Ordered our beers and asked for a menu. Waited another 15 minutes. Asked the server to come over after another 15 minutes, without result. 15 minutes later, I raised both arms when the server was looking our way, and they came to take our order. When it came, the sides weren't what we asked for, and had to ask they correct the sides, which they did. Food was decent pub fare. Service not so much. Enjoying the entertainment. We decided to go in for dinner one night! My husband had the Cajun chicken sandwich and it was delicious! I had the club sandwich and it was also great! The only thing for me, the seating (tall stools @ tall tables) inside was extremely uncomfortable that my leg couldn't get much circulation and started to go numb & fall asleep. Ok so this place has been around a long time. It's a great place to go in town the food is pretty good, BUT THE SERVICE! Doing me a favor is an understatement. I thought this was a family operated place, so everyone should have a vested interest in making everyone feel important. Nope. Not even close. Flabbergasted at the horrible service. This is not my first time here I keep coming back hoping for a different experience, nope. The food is good, but putting in an order and receiving food is over an hour process, beers empty, trying to get their attention. Mind you there are literally (I just counted) 16 people in here as customers; empty and no service and definitely NO SMILE OR FRIENDLY BARTENDER BANTER. I went there for a drink with my husband and could not believe they charged me 20$ for a double casamigos and pineapple and 12$ for a double Bacardi and diet! After tip i spent 40$ for 2 drinks!! There are still many brews from which to choose but I feel that's the only positivity I could muster up here. You would probably go here after work and enjoy a quick meal, play darts or pool and grab a drink or three. If you stay later you can hear the bar band. Remember, this is a dive bar. The food is average, the restrooms are dirty and the staff is slow, yet the clientele come in and perch themselves at the bar to enjoy their time here. And the prices are high!!! I ordered a pork roll and cheese sandwich. It was $7.25 with the ruffled chips w/a meager pickle slice. Very average with yellow cheese. The staff, though polite, is slow to non-regulars. I came here a couple years ago and went back for the beer on tap. Selection was not bad but the service at the bar was a bit slow and approached being friendly. (The bartenders used to be attentive to the non-regulars.) I had chicken wings...real tasty, but the skin was a little gooey/undercooked. The burger was Super tasty as were the fries that accompanied them. Lots of napkins were readily available (juicy burger). It's not a large place; a couple of tables, but mostly its the bar where you sit. Looks like there's a smoking area outside the back door. They have a pool table but the shut it down to make room for the band. The band was clear and prominently audible, but not too loud for the room...it was great that we didn't have to yell in each other's ears. I said "it's expensive, are you sure? And medium? This is Jersey. Medium is usually well done." He said yes and so glad he got it!!! The steak was fabulous! Probably the best delivery steak I've ever had, and a perfect medium! It was tender, juicy, seasoned well, charred on the outside, and cooked perfectly- pure perfection! The wings were great and the grilled cheese (for my 8 year old) was just how I cook it, so he loved it and came with a HUGE, juicy pickle slice! In all my years of working in the service industry I have never said this to someone or overhead someone else say it. Honestly was appalled. The man reluctantly tipped after this to not start an issue. Later found out it was for one drink. She was extremely rude and was yelling over the performers when it was necessary. The famous Nip-N-Tuck has been here forever. As a kid I remember it being a bar for "old people." Well, maybe it was and probably still is cause I definitely fit that category now. I'd say it's not for everyone. It's a dive. Of course 30 years ago that was a pejorative but today it's something to be proud of. I guess Guy Fieri had something to do with that. What got me coming here about 4 or 5 years ago was their addition of craft beer. Not just any old beer, but good quality local and mostly domestic stuff. They take pride in their beer and their selection shows. There''s an eclectic mix of customers who frequent here, from blue collars, suits, any ethnicity, any socio-economic group; it works. I've been to several beer tastings and they are all loads of fun. The food is decent. Pretty much what you might expect. Their wings are great but last night I got a provolone burger with bacon and sriracha mayo. Excellent job. Sometimes you get here and the kitchen, which is really next to the bar, and visable to all, is swamped with orders. It can get hectic at times but that's part of the appeal. Watching the orders cook and go out. Diane started serving us last night and was relieved by Michael. Both excellent and personable. It may not be for everyone but you should check it out at least once. read more

With a tap list that no dive bar can even remotely match in Monmouth county, any craft beer fan wouldn't need to go anywhere else. Featuring 5 rotating taps for the venerable Kane brewing, the owner, Bob, gets some super exclusive beers from all over New Jersey. Even some one off kegs of beers I would have never even thought any brewery would keg but they do it special for him. The food is simple pub grub but it doesn't pretend to be anything it's not. They feature a Grilled Cheese of the Week, which is always prepared with great, fresh ingredients. Everything else on the menu is served up fresh, piping hot and super fast. I've never had anything less than a stellar meal from this place. Do yourself a favor and get here already. You'll be back once a week just to see what Bob has got cooking and on tap. read more

I sauntered in on a Thursday night due to the four star average reviews and I sincerely hope I hit an off night. This place has that wonderful dive-ish atmosphere that I truly love. It has lots of wood and it's a little dark. Great jukebox. Open kitchen and the food smelled wonderful. Nice selection of craft beers. Now things went downhill. The bar was slammed and I got the last seat. I counted and there were 19 customers at the bar. Why did I count them you ask? That's because one guy was acting as bartender, doing all the cooking and handling all the takeout! This guy was seriously hustling. He made the famous Energizer Bunny look like a snail. Unfortunately it was too much for him. I had a hell of a time just getting a drink. The number of food checks hanging above his grill would be daunting to anyone. The guy next to me said "Yeah, the food is great but you're not getting any anytime soon!" Another guy said he waited 40 minutes for a burger and fries.
