I've been here a few times because my husband plays hockey nearby and his teammates live to come here. That being said, their best food on the menu, hands down, is the parmesan wings -- that sauce will go great with anything and everything. The last time I was there I had the turkey burger sliders and it could've used a little sauce help, and bam that garlic sauce came in clutch. Service is great and very attentive. Great spot for a cheap beer and fried food. I love that she fried pickles are spears and not chips, I've never seen that anywhere else. The pork roll fries were delicious and very different from anything I've ever seen. I was disappointed because the disco fries used american cheese sauce and not melted mozzarella cheese. The Globe is my favorite Dive bar in the Red Bank area. The food is well above average for a bar and the staff is pretty friendly. Mike, one of the servers is great and noticed we thought our drinks were pretty skimpy so he came back with a very generous pour of Jameson and club soda. It was much appreciated by the people who like to taste their whisky. I recommend the Chicken Cordon Bleu panini. I've had a lot of their apps as well and the specials board always had a few good options. It's a great place to watch sports or get away from the pretentiousness that Red Bank has to offer at a lot of other bars. read more

From the outside The Globe is nothing special and doesn't get much better once you are in the bar/dining area. Great place, however, to get a beer, sandwich and do a little people watching. The Globe is seconds away from some top shelf restaurants and doesn't let that fact stop it from being a special place in its own right. They have an extensive menu, daily specials and the pork roll sandwich (definitely a Jersey thing) with cheese is worth the trip. Great local bar with good food. Wings, burgers and sandwiches are all above par and the beer is always frosty. What more can you want from a local. Crowd varies from after-workers, 30-40 crowd and some families in for dinner and then turns into a 20-something crowd as the night goes on. Go back a few times and you'll be a regular. read more

I think this place is great but it is not for everyone. It's a dive bar that is good for a beer and a shot. The food is average at best but I have to say the bar pies and empanadas are outstanding. My wife hates this place and my neighbor who has worked in food service and bars since he was 16 in Monmouth County told me if you saw the kitchen here, you would stay away. I also love this place because when it snows bad, and all other places are closed, you will most like find The Globe open and filled with people who probably walked there to get out of their houses. read more

The staff is always polite . The servers Terry Jessie and Julia are all attentive and hard working ! I love the fact that the owner Paula greets all her customers and she is a delight always friendly . of course we always have our favorite foods the burgers are awesome I love their Thai chicken wings and their French onion soup is one of my husband's favorites. But I'm not. So, I can't give this place a high rating. This place is the dream sports pub in Red Bank for the male population. Ladies, this is the last place you'll want to be. Sure, it's casual and laid-back but when you've spent time getting ready to go out, the last thing you want is to leave this place looking like a tropical plant is growing on your head and wreaking of body odor. It's hot, humid, and smells like feet. This is a place you should send your boyfriend/husband when he wants a night with the guys. Mildly scary dive bar. Came here for dinner a couple weeks ago. Had a buffalo chicken sandwich. Came out super fast but they forgot to put buffalo sauce and bleu cheese in it.... So it was just a plain grilled chicken sandwich. They advertise good drink specials during sporting events like $2 beers. But the atmosphere isn't for me . The Globe is one of the few pubs in Red Bank and I have ventured into this little hole in the wall many a times. Most patrons will go for the beer and bar food but I really do love the KoolAid Grape cocktail. Best food item on the menu are the deep fried raviolis---have had requests fr the hubby numerous times to pick some up for him after my volleyball get togethers here. I don't consider this place a dive bar. Yes, this is a bar first and foremost. The focus is on the drinks. But the food is not bad, not by a long-shot. The sandwiches and appetizers are more than enough to quash your hunger. And how about the prices? Can't complain about what they charge for food or drinks. Prices for whiskey I don't think I've seen anywhere else, and that you probably haven't seen since the early 2000's. Went here for late lunch at an odd time. Older crowd, mostly regulars. Probably the only person there under 40. But it didn't bother me. The bartender was great. Good pours of whiskey, ice cold tap beer. No complaints. Some people say they feel uneasy or intimidated here. I guess you can say the same thing of any neighborhood bar that has a lot of regulars. But everyone kept to themselves. I felt fine. We were not rushed or anything. It was a nice afternoon. In expensive, posh Red Bank, it's nice to see a place that is not pretentious. They know their identity and what they have. A good neighborhood/sports bar just off the main drag of Broad Street in downtown Red Bank. Sort of dark, with low ceilings that used to trap all the cigarette fumes right at head level before the NJ smoking ban. Pros: Decent tap beers; excellent wings; some of the best burgers in the area. The club sandwich is a good, too. Cons: Sometimes-rude bartenders. Pro or con depending on your POV: It's a sports bar. They do have NFL Sunday ticket if you want to watch some obscure, non-Giants/Jets game. Go Bills! read more

The bar food inspired menu is really underrated and I recommend ordering off the white board. Haven't been here for many years, but stopped in last night for a Globe burger and a beer. Have to say the Globe burger was one of the best around, but not so much anymore. There are now many more places where the burgers are far superior such as the Portside in Port Monmouth.The waitress was pleasant enough, but I can honestly say I will probably never set foot in the place again. Anyplace that charges a surcharge for using your credit card immediately goes on my do not go list. Most people today pay with credit so accepting them is just the cost of doing business. read more

I've grown up and worked in the area and have been to every bar and restaurant in Red Bank. I've been to the Globe on several times and I cannot say I have once had a plesant experience. After working at a restaurant in Red Bank, my coworkers and I went to grab some food and a drink- miserable service, miserable staff and we waited as if we were receiving a 5 star meal oppose to a burger and fries. I recently went back for drinks and to watch a hockey game- waited forever to receive service and almost left it took so long. Then my sister recently went and asked for one more beer and her tab. Assuming she paid for her drinks and the bartender didn't end one tab and start another (which makes no sense), she left. The bartender chased her and her friend outside, grabbed her arm and yelled saying she ran out on her tab. Really... she paid and left you a tip then you chase her and grab her for what.. TWO BEERS!? Seriously.. Want a good place to watch the game and a grab a drink or some food- Can't go wrong with the Dublin House or Jamians! More low key dive bar- go to Walt Street. read more

I recommend grabbing a table for faster service and going with a group so you take over the place and demand their attention. The drinks are just as expensive, and not any stronger or better made than the drinks at somewhere a little more upscale like the Downtown. This is a great place when you are bar hopping and need quick, greasy bar food. We have been here a few times. I am laughing at the post that thought this place was scary. It's dark and a little grimy, but never felt unsafe or anything. We somehow always end up here. Decided to go tonight around 10 pm but when I arrived, I was greeted by an obnoxious lady demanding that I leave because I was under 21. This is the only restaurant/bar that I know of that will refuse customers under 21, even when they are only getting food. Overall, good food and terrible service. read more
