I frequent them enough that I know most of the owners, and long time help by name. Hands down the best run, healthiest plants, cleanest, and most knowledgeable staff is James and Rhonda and their crew at Panhandle Greenhouse.

We were first attracted to the glazed pots outside because they had such a nice collection of colors. Then we walked into the greenhouse and were greeted with the heavenly fragrance of petunias from the many hanging baskets above the rows of plants. It's one of those nurseries where you can find just about any kind of plant you've been looking for. All of the plants are beautiful specimens in tip-top condition. The greenhouse adjoins another greenhouse that is decked out with very luxurious patio furniture and decor and is followed by more rows of plants to the right and the main store entrance to the left. It's absolutely gorgeous in there! We sort of explored this business in a round about way, but eventually made it to the front section of the store which is a large room nicely decorated with antiques, collectibles, and melamine dishes... all for sale! This place is pricey, I would say twice the price of what you'd pay for a comparable product elsewhere, but it was such an unexpected gem we ran across while cruising the countryside that I think it's something everyone should explore when in the area. You will be delighted.

This was by far the worst experience I have ever had with a furniture store. Ashley Furniture, and…read morespecifically the employees Rupert, Donald, and Dustin, made the entire process a nightmare. From the beginning, nothing felt straightforward or honest. The way they handled business came off shady, manipulative, and completely untrustworthy. Instead of helping me as a customer, they seemed more focused on pushing hidden costs, dodging direct questions, and giving me the runaround. It was clear they had no intention of being transparent or professional. Every interaction left me feeling like I was being scammed rather than served. These three employees made what should have been a simple, positive experience into a situation full of stress, frustration, and distrust. If you value your time, money, and peace of mind, stay far away from this place. Ashley Furniture should be embarrassed to have employees like Rupert, Donald, and Dustin representing their business. I'll never step foot in this store again, and I strongly warn anyone else to avoid it unless you want to deal with shady practices and a team that clearly doesn't care about customers.

It seemed like the inside was her realm while the husband told us that the rock gardens surrounding the business were all his. I found succulents here that I've never seen anywhere, including at nurseries in southern California that I visit twice yearly. One in particular, Chinese dunce cap, I've been hunting for for two years during my travels and have finally found it here, in Amarillo, Texas of all places! I have had the opportunity to buy it online, but I prefer to buy in person from quality nurseries. They have helpful photos with descriptions and directions for care posted above most of the plants. As we walked through the succulent greenhouse Tracy walked along with us offering helpful advice and taking our picks to the counter so we didn't have to carry them around. Afterward we went to the outdoor/perennial area where we were met by Val and she graciously offered us a guided tour through their lovely rock/cactus garden pointing out plants that are hardy for our growing zone. We had a wonderful time and will definitely go back every time we visit Amarillo!
