This was by far the worst experience I have ever had with a furniture store. Ashley Furniture, and specifically the employees Rupert, Donald, and Dustin, made the entire process a nightmare. From the beginning, nothing felt straightforward or honest. The way they handled business came off shady, manipulative, and completely untrustworthy. Instead of helping me as a customer, they seemed more focused on pushing hidden costs, dodging direct questions, and giving me the runaround. It was clear they had no intention of being transparent or professional. Every interaction left me feeling like I was being scammed rather than served. These three employees made what should have been a simple, positive experience into a situation full of stress, frustration, and distrust. If you value your time, money, and peace of mind, stay far away from this place. Ashley Furniture should be embarrassed to have employees like Rupert, Donald, and Dustin representing their business. Absolutely the worst buying experience. Order was placed 7/31/2021 I can't remember how many times delivery has been scheduled only to be cancelled the day of or the day before the delivery date. This happened again today. Last week the truck drove from Lubbock to within an hour of my house. They called to make sure we were available for delivery then called and cancelled after they drove 3 hours. They rescheduled for 4/20 and cancelled 4/19. I'm disappointed in the dishonesty of the sales team. We went in for a new living room set and I specifically asked about shipping/receipt time. I was told because their manufacturer is in Dallas, they haven't had issues with deliveries. Quoted me 6-8 weeks. (in early July). I called to check on the order (Sofa, Loveseat, Chaise Lounge, Coffee Table and 2 end tables and was told all furniture i picked was on backorder, and was quoted December earliest..... FRUSTRATING! Just be honest from the beginning and say you have delivery backorder issues. Don't put yourself on a pedestal and say you guys haven't experienced issues to get the sale. Cancelling the whole order. I would first like to start off by saying this Ashley's homestore in amarillo is a FRANCHISE, not corporate, which is a big mistake in itself if you purchase anything from here. Everyone knows when you are dealing with a franchise, they never think about the customer, they only think of their own pockets first. Anyways! My girlfriend and I went to Ashley's in hopes of finding some furniture for our new apartment, which we did. We paid cash for our bed set and couch with corner chase on 6/17. We were told that it would be at the warehouse in 2-4 weeks and that we could call to schedule a delivery. A month went by, I finally called and they proceeded to tell me that the furniture was not going to be in until September and that the sales person lied to us because their shipments actually take 4-6 weeks. I would also like to mention that when you call their customer service, it is the longest wait time! After talking with about 10 different representatives every other day, absolutely nothing was getting resolved, and when I would ask to talk to the supervisor, she was "too busy" to talk with her customers. When i decided to just say fck it and choose to get our furniture somewhere else, they told me If i canceled because of THEIR delays and horrible customer service, that i would have to pay a restocking fee and that I wouldn't get my money back...not even a credit. SO basically I was going to be getting charged MORE for something I never even received, let alone something that never even made it out the manufacturing building. The staff was friendly. I had a good experience buying the furniture and everything I have received has been high quality, but is been 6 months and I'm still missing most of the furniture I purchased. Ashley delivers one piece every month or two so I stop complaining for a little while. I have 1/2 nightstands, a bed without a frame, and 1/3 of the sofa set. Earlier this week they said my couch would be delivered on Saturday(today). I called today and they said that the couch never showed up so they can't deliver it. They never bothered to tell me, I had to call and ask why they never showed. I would suggest steering clear of this company. We were going to buy a $10000 bedroom set. After dragging out getting us a price the manager came and gave us a 22% discount if we paid cash and asked us to put $100 down. We were told if we didn't purchase that set we could use it towards anything in the store. So we look at the now prices $8800 set online on our way home to grab cash and they have it listed on their own website for $6800... Obviously we didn't buy it but went back to buy a recliner. Instead of being able to use the $100 towards the recliner the tone changed and after being told they couldn't find it they eventually did, but weren't willing to let us use it towards the purchase. We walked out. They pretty much stole $100 from us but that is fine. They lost and will continue to lose a lot more in business because we will not spend a penny with them and make sure everyone we know is aware as to how they do business. Go to Buzula, Havertys or pretty much anywhere else. You also won't have to deal with getting swarmed by commission paid sales people circling you like sharks. Bought from them before a $10,000 bed and had great customer service and delivery. So I decided to buy again. Bought a queen bedroom set on June 30. Was told it would take 4-6 weeks I was ok with that. Told the customer service rep I needed a bed ASAP because I didn't have one. She said that as soon as it came in they could deliver it even if the other items were not in. I agreed total was almost $2600. I call at the end of July and to see the status and I was told it would be mid August I was upset but it wasn't too far away. I contacted the customer service line was told 3 different dates my items would arrive and that they could do partial deliveries. I agreed and stated I just really need the bed. I called today August 26 and was told nothing has came in and it would be September 6th and there were no dates for anything but the bed. This really pissed me off because I just had a phone call with the same customer service line who told me items were coming in on Aug 16,27,30. I have been waiting almost 10 weeks for my bedroom set!!!! When I was told otherwise. Then the customer rep had the audacity to tell me well online it states 14 week delay. Honestly, Ashley would get NO stars if that was a choice!! I had purchased some of their cheap quality particle board furniture several years ago while living in the Midwest. A whole apartment full of furniture and over half was damaged on receipt!! I blame most of this on the poorly trained delivery team, since other items I have had shipped directly were undamaged. It is AMAZING how something can survive a trip from Vietnam, and be damaged going from one end of town to the other!! But, that is not my current issue with Ashley, as I have several. The "cheap quality" goes without saying. The poorly trained or inept delivery guys would depend on the location, though there seem to be a number of complaints about the furniture being damaged during delivery pretty much everywhere you look. My current issue stems from an order for a couch and loveseat, placed around the first week of April. I waited weeks to hear from anyone about delivery. I made multiple calls to their customer service department trying to set up a delivery and then made attempts via email. I would literally sir for 30 plus minutes and no one would pick up. I finally gave up and sent them an email to just cancel the order. Nearly a month later, I hear from someone named Kimberly who wants to set up delivery. WTH??? I told her I had already cancelled this order and made other arrangements. I was in the midst of a cross country move and certainly wasn't going to deal with Ashley at that point. She informed me she could not cancel the order, but would pass it along to her manager to do so. I was made to believe this issue was resolved. Fast forward to yesterday, I get an email from Ashley sales stating they are charging my Synchrony card for the $1900 for the sofa and liveseat. WTH??? I contacted my credit card company and reported the fraudulent charge and closed the account, but now have another nightmare to deal with while trying to get settled. When does it end?? Their furniture may "look nice", but it isn't quality and it certainly doesn't travel well. My husband and I had been looking for a new couch, so I came in one day after work to browse and send him some things I liked. This is the worst company and they can't blame their poor customer service on the pandemic. How can you legally sell a product you don't have in stock? I forgot what I ordered since its been so long. There's no excuse for this company not reaching out to the customers they still owe furniture to. I have filed a claim with BBB and the said part is, Ashley furniture is listed as one of the worst companies on Consumer Reports ( wish I had reviewed that site prior to purchase). The company responds to reviews with a canned response and provides an email address to provide detailed information. That's a joke since no one responds to the email. The easy resolution would be to cancel the order. However, if you cancel, the company will keep 25% of your purchase. The reviews listed on this are either fake or they are the few lucky customers. I was originally told that I the bed would be here July 20th but on July 20th I called & they said that due to COVID-19 they've pushed the delivery to August 4th. Later on that same day I went to my mom's house and she asked to see the new bed I had gotten. I went to their website to pull up a picture and to my surprise the bed was almost $200 LESS than what I paid. I called up there thinking there must have been some mistake. Ashley Critique: This is for the Amarillo, Tx store. We bought $13,000 worth of furniture from Ashley back in June of 2020. The staff at our local Ashley was WONDERFUL. It ends there. There was something wrong with everything we bought. 1st. The $8500 worth of bed and bedroom set surrounding the adjustable bed. This was the cheapest and flimsiest material of construction I've ever seen. The setup people left sharp edged bolts sticking through the side rails which sliced both of the adjustable bases. Reported but never fixed. So now I have duct tape covering the torn fabric. The dining room table and barstool/chairs. OMG. The screws in the back of the chairs (at least one chair). Some are razor sharp and the first time I encountered one of these razorblade screw heads I actually drew blood. Also, several of the chairs/stools (well, at least one) leans and appears to be out of alignment. The leveling legs on the chairs were ALL loose and all the chairs have to be periodically releveled. They need larger or tighter threads on the bolts. But....Reported but never fixed. Computer desk in the office? Actually GREAT. But it came from a 3rd party vendor. The Couch. It is POORLY stuffed. Took MONTHS to get delivered. Coffee table. This was damaged, dirty and had a poorly applied finish. The table top mechanism was sprung. They were incredibly nonchalant about this. They got upset at my wife over the return. We sent it back. Decided not to have a coffee table and bought an end table which is good. NOW we get to our cry of anguish and request for help. FIRST. I emailed the CEO, a guy named Todd R. Wanek. Absolutely ignored me and did not refer my contact to someone. HE'S where the buck stops. It's his, so to speak, company. I'm sure he's a busy fella but a shepherd has to mind their flock and I don't think he's doing that. I finally did give a sigh and hitched up my trousers and contacted the support staff who assigned me a case number. I've contacted them several times as I didn't hear back from them after that. They said they are "monitoring my case for any updates". they claim they've tried to contact me and left voicemail. NO. THEY DID NOT. They have done NOTHING. They have ignored me. I've got a "non-local" Area Code that is similar to the local one. They might have misdialed. I like to give everyone the benefit of the doubt when I can. Isn't that what reasonable people do? I tried but I just can't. I am just too disappointed. The company, after the sale, is awful. They don't seem to be very responsive to the customer. I'm sure in many cases they are but not in our case. The store staff DO care-- the are GREAT but I think they are limited in what they can do. The bottom line is that I will not use Ashley again. I do advise you to go somewhere else. Good luck to those who do use them and best wishes to the Ashley staff on the front line. Ashley has a problem and they need to fix it. I can foresee them filing bankruptcy in the next 5 years or so. This review alone will ultimately cost them $50,000 (maybe less) in lost revenue. Much more than doing the thing right costs. I want everyone, including Ashley, to do well but the general rule is you have to be doing something right first. Treat your customers with a sense of urgency. I'm very upset. I purchased a coffee table for pickup. Getting a person on the phone is like waiting 30 minutes or more. I had to go to the store to figure out when I could pick it up and they only do customer pickups the 1st and 15th. My table wouldn't be in until the 16th so they told me to deliver it for free. I gave them specific instructions like the correct phone number. Of course they didn't deliver it and called the wrong number. Delivering out of lubbock is completely not a smart operation, neither is only allowing customer pick up twice a month. I went to the local store and no help just like calling. Let me start by saying my husband and I had been Ashley Furniture customers for years prior to now. After this most recent purchase, we will never return to Ashley solely based on the poor customer service. They had promised us our furniture in 2-6 weeks, after we told them the importance of having our furniture in this guaranteed timeframe (that they gave us and reassured us) due to guests coming in for our wedding. The furniture was not delivered in that timeframe and then they wanted to start billing us for the furniture we did not have. After multiple calls to cancel, hour hold times, not one call back after having the option to save your number in line instead of waiting an hour and then when you finally get a hold of someone, they give you the run around about how they're unable to look into the account because they're not the ones who made the note or their supervisor isn't available or isn't there. After about 10+ phone calls, it seems convenient that no one is ever available. They also tell you time after time that someone will give you a call back by making a note on the account and not one person has ever reached out for a follow up call. Not once. Then you have to call back and go through this whole ordeal again. Avoid going to this place at all costs. They have lost a valuable customer. read more

I purchased over $16000 in furniture - paid up front, not credit - in September 2021. I was told that my order would be delivered in 8-10 weeks. I received the first little bit of my order very quickly and was very pleased with it. But then, the rest of my order was delayed... and delayed again... and again. I eventually filed a complaint with the BBB and have had a little more of my furniture delivered but my complete order has yet to be fulfilled and it is now projected to not be available until June 2022. A little inconvenient considering part of the order that I am missing are the chairs that go to the dining table that delivered previously. On top of that, some of what we ordered is damaged. I asked upon delivery to have it repaired. The delivery tech could not fix it but "submitted a work order" to have someone else come and do the repair.... No one has called, much less bothered to come by to fix it. I have messaged the "contact" that Ashley's has provided to everyone else in these complaints (206-203-5109) to discuss the situation and hopefully get it resolved but all that I am getting back are excuses for why it is taking so long for my order to be fulfilled. In my opinion, the sales people at Ashley's are con artists that will tell you whatever they need to in order to make a sale and they get away with it because the delivery dates are just "estimates" so they don't have to be remotely accurate and the customer service is atrocious - they are rude and dismissive as though it's your fault that they have failed to do their jobs. This company is walking a very fine line teetering towards theft. They will take your money without batting an eye and then fail to deliver the promised goods. I won't be surprised if the entire company goes bankrupt in the next year and I end up out of money and without my furniture. This has been the absolute worst customer experience. read more

I went here to look for a sectional that I would need after a remodel. I told the sales representative that I did not want to finance. She has me fill out an application anyway stating it was standard procedure, and no big deal. Two week later I got a credit card in the mail from "The Home Card." The fine print states failure to close the account within 30 days of receipt indicates acceptance of terms, fees, and charges. When I called to immediately cancel the card the agent said it was from Ashley Furniture. This is a total scam. Now my credit will be effected by this card that was approved and then canceled that I never had any knowledge of from the start. Do not go here, EVER! We purchased a table set and chairs from Ashley HomeStore. The table was damaged within the 72 hour no-hassle return period. The technician who was scheduled to show up never did. Called back twice. Same thing. Passed the 72 hour mark. Had to now deal with customer care plan we paid extra to have. So they basically fill out paperwork and send it to the same scheduler people at the HomeStore who never showed up. 14 missed appointments (over 10 mo period) later, we still have a damaged table and another appointment. I simply do not know how Ashley Furniture stays in business. I ordered from them in late August. It is now late November and I still don't have my full order. The floor associate that sold me the furniture first lied to me and quoted a 2-6 week delivery time. I understand delays happen so I just let that slip by. I finally get a partial delivery in late October and they delivered the incorrect entertainment center. So now I'm having to go back to our local store to get the correct entertainment center. Sure enough, I was notified that the floor associate lied to me again because the entertainment center that I selected actually does not come in the color that I had ordered. They simply told me to select another entertainment center but offered no discount for there mistakes. I was also notified that the sales associate I dealt with no longer works there. What a surprise. I decide to ask for a refund and I am referred to call there customer service department. After 5 billion years on hold with Ashley Furniture customer service I am notified that they do not offer refunds. They can not even give me a small discount for a new entertainment center that I choose. Keep in mind, this was all there mistakes. Having no choice and urgently needing an entertainment center, I decide to go to Ashley Furniture and select a different one. I select one that actually fits the rest of my living room color scheme but it is $1200 more than my previous one. As if it couldn't get any worse, the entertainment center I want is the last one and I must select the floor model. I then ask if there is any small discount on the floor model and sure enough they say no. Can I at least get delivery on this?? You guessed it, also no. So im having to pay an additional $1200 for a floor model and I also have to pick it up FOR A MISTAKE THEY MADE. I arrive back at the store and they cannot even provide me with bubble wrap to keep the furniture safe upon transfer. I have to go over to uhaul and spend over $100 for furniture protection supplies. At this point im livid and I just want my damn furniture. I arrive at my house and they provide me with the wrong screws to assemble my entertainment center. So now I'm having to go back to the store. I am trying my hardest not to cuss people out or put my fists on there face the whole time. I get there and they said they gave me the right assembly equipment. I told them if they cannot just simply go to the back and see if for some reason the right screws are back there? This dumbass then tells me that ill have to call customer service for some $5 screws. I spent over $15,000 on your shitty furniture and you cannot provide me with simple screws? You've got to be kidding me. At this time, I raise my voice and demand for them to go back there and look. They agree and sure enough, here they come with the right screws. During this whole process of going into the store I saw over 10 other customers complain about similar problems. I sit here in late November still waiting for a bench that was supposed to come with my dinning room set. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS STORE WITH STUPID INADEQUATE EMPLOYEES THATS ANSWER TO EVERYTHING IS CALL CUSTOMER SERVICE. How in the hell has this place not ran out of business? PLEASE DO NOT BUY FROM THESE RATS. If you want excellent customer service go elsewhere, perhaps somebody's backyard and pickup used furniture. If you want to deal with headache dumb ass pain in the rear people that simply suck at what they do and can't wait to steal your money than go to Ashley Furniture. read more

Well I was going to get a $2200 bed mattress and frame.. but I ended up getting in a car accident driving 70mph and ran over by someone going 45-50 mph within 20 minutes.. We came in looking at mattresses. We had seen advertisements on TV and a flyer in the mail of no interest. The first young man was very nice. He greeted us as we entered. He showed us the mattresses and then another guy took over. He was nice and knew his stuff but definitely was pushy. We asked each other if we were in a used car dealership. It was tricky. We eventually found the mattress we liked and applied for credit. After approval another guy comes over and runs through numbers. The numbers did not add up. Come to find out the deal being offered at 0% was basically a joke. Then we began to get things thrown in for free. Sorry! But that was the strangest furniture shopping we have ever done. We just needed a King size bed. I didn't want to get rid of my existing furniture, we just needed a different size. We found something that would match and we both liked and made the purchase. It was delivered and set up without any problems. When we need something else, Ashley's will certainly be considered!! read more
