We went here after their "renovation" and the only thing renovated was the portion size. It's gone from good portion to 1-2 bite portion. The lunch special comes with an eggroll and soup/salad but the portion of the entree was just as small as that! They're charging the same price for a smaller portion. Take my eggroll and soup/salad and give me my portion back, please. I won't be coming back until then. It's good but not that good if the portion size can be eaten in 1-2 bites. Service was horrible and food was not good. Arrived at the restaurant around 5:30PM and placed two orders. Waitress mentioned 30 minutes wait for the order. I came back 30 minutes later and waitress said another 5 minutes for the order to complete. Ended up leaving the establishment at 7PM only to see the order was not placed in until 6:13PM. Other customers that chose to dine in was waiting at least 45 minutes for the food to arrive to the table. Food was sour and certainly not worth $45, and certainly not worth the wait. We ordered from their lunch special which includes a ginger salad and a spring roll with your order and also placed an order for the crab Rangoons. These appetizers alone gave me good hope, everything was fresh and delicious. For our entrees we ordered the half duck and the drunken noodles. The portion was perfect and tasted amazing. I've been to several Thai restaurants and this is one of the best in the Orlando Hunter's Creek area. Pleasantly and warmly greeted and had my choice of sitting areas. My entire party was not present but I was allowed to not only sit but to also order. The food was served as it became ready (good because I was hungry) and was very hot. I ordered a Thai iced tea, the spring rolls, Thai chicken wings, cucumber salad, and the Pad woonsen. The rolls were crispy and hot and fried to perfection. Chicken wings were well seasoned and definitely a sharing size (as my party proceeded to eat mine when they arrived). They had a great crunch with tender meaty inside. I tried the Pad Woonsen for the first time and will definitely get it again. The glass noodles were light and well seasoned. I did not add meat to mine and it was a great complement to my fried chicken wings. They were served atop a bed of veggies (broccoli, carrots, cabbage, Bok Choi). Now for the things I shouldn't eat, the Thai iced tea was great: sweet but not overpowering. The Thai donuts were light and really the size of donut bites. The drizzled sauce gave it the sweetness. My guest had the sticky mango rice and ate every grain so it must have been good. Portions were a good size, pricing was reasonable, restaurant was clean, waitress was attentive and efficient. Jeanette was very friendly and took great care of us, while also processing the to-go orders. They offer walk-ins for lunch & dinner along with takeout service. It would be smart to call ahead as they just soft-opened a week ago and will likely be adjusting their hours of service as needed. The menu is concise but covers many popular Central Thai dishes from shareable appetizers, salads, soups, entrees, curries, fried rice, stir fried noodles & desserts. We started with some Chicken Satay & Shrimp in a Blanket and shared the Thai Basil Chicken, Pad Ke Mao & Crispy Grouper entrees. Everything was fresh, good portions & came out very quickly. We saved enough room for dessert decided to go with the Sticky Rick w/ Thai Egg Custard. Great dish if you're into sweet & little bit savory for dessert. Really solid experience across the board, always happy to support a new local business. I'm positive they'll develop a loyal following of regulars looking for tasty Thai cuisine in Hunters Creek. The food was flavorful and timely. Working and living in Orlando, it's the norm to grab something quick or swing by a drive thru nearby,, especially not having a long enough break to go out to eat and indulge the way someone would like, however, here on my hour break they provided a nice warm meal... the yellow Thai chicken curry and was even surprised to find they have a lunch special until 3pm that's inclusive of a salad and spring roll prior. Great addition to the plaza. I always enjoy their curry and their duck soup when feeling under the weather. The staff is friendly and gives great recommendations when trying new Thai food. The parking lot can get full on the weekends at night so you may have to park further away. There's a popular local bar next to it and a Dunkin donuts. I usually do pick ups on busy nights. All in all a great Thai place in the hunters creek area I can easily order from when I am in the mood. Check them out! read more
