I have eaten from here all weekend. Let me tell you...I had the lemon pepper wangz with collard greens and Mac n cheese...and i was having food-gasms the whole time I ate it. Then I had the fried pork chop with potato salad, collard greens and Mac n cheese, and I said to myself, "Idk who Ms. Nita is, but I'm close to changing my mfn sexual preference for her". The smothered turkey wing was absolutely nasty. It tasted like raw meat it stinks as well, the brown packaged gravy is even worse it has no seasoning at all. The greens have 0 seasoning as well. I have been on the hunt for savory home style sides made from generations on down you hear me lol Nita's was on my bookmark list but being in Fayetteville for a year now I'm jaded to driving anything over a 7 minute drive so I hadn't made it here yet but I said forget it, to be satisfied I am treating myself and going. It was worth ittttt! I ordered the flounder meal with 2 sides comes w/ hush puppies. It was all flavored exactly right. Not one thing was like what it this I'm tasting. The flounder kind of reminded me of long John silvers batter but not a match but man it was good. The Mac n cheese was baked but melted cheese... amazing!!!!! The cabbage was a little softer than I would like but that it just me to like crunch. They were seasoned in broth and delicious . All I can keep saying is it was good dagnabit. I wanted some soul food but didn't want to cook so I came to Nita's. This was my first and last time going here. I ordered a 6 piece garlic parmesan wings and the catfish meal with collard greens and yams. I walked outside to my car then changed my mind and went back in and IMMEDIATELY asked could they change the yams to mac and cheese. She told me it was already on the plate, which threw me off because I was told the fish was cooked to order. So I say my food ready, she says no they cooking the fish. So I am confused why they got my sides on a plate while waiting 15 minutes for my fish to cook. Strike 1! I wait for my food. I get it! In the bag its no silverware, napkins nor condiments, so I ask. For two pieces of catfish she gives me one tarter sauce. Strike 2! I look at my food and get irritated. The wings are fresh but no garlic on them Just scarce parmesan. One of the catfish was on top Of the sides which means it wasn't hard just soggy. Strike 3! Now i taste my food! The greens had no favor whatsoever just plain. The yams just nasty. The catfish was good and the chicken was okay! I wouldn't recommend eating here if you ever had good soul food. read more

While Visiting Fayetteville for the very first time, this place was recommended as a good local eatery so I decided to give it a try. I ordered fried whiting, shrimp, Mac and cheese and broccoli. The order came with 2 hush puppies. The young lady that took my order was so sweet and helpful. It is a small restaurant with a few dine-in tables and that is just fine. They gave me generous portions but the Mac and cheese was bland and so was the whiting. The shrimp were pretty good and the broccoli was seasoned well. The hush puppies were very, very dry. Although I gave this place 3 stars for what I ordered, I would go back but I just wouldn't order the same thing. I would probably try the smothered Turkey wings next time. read more

I liked the food. The shrimp was fried and seasoned well. The chicken was a little less impressive. You could still see several hairs on the chicken and it wasn't seasoned as well. I'm comparing to Uptown Waffles. Those chicken wings are delicious. I recommend calling ahead if you're getting take out because there's a bit of a wait. It's a good thing because it means they cook your food to order. I really appreciate the lady at the cash register allowed me to get a refill on my tea although I had a takeout order. I have never been to Nita's in person to eat, but I have had meals delivered to me from them a bunch of times. I have never been disappointed. The food is always delicious and delivered hot. I love the fried fish with cabbage, Mac and cheese, rice, and I always add the yams. But I have eaten many of their dishes and they all have been great. I cannot pick a favorite. Was recommended to try this place. Order chicken wings, fried okra, yams and a side of Mac and cheese. The wings were the best part of the meal. Seasoned and cooked well. The yams tasted like applesauce and I didn't care for the texture. The okra was all right. The Mac and cheese was all right, but greasy. We were told that they couldn't tell us the price until we got to the restaurant, but she told us the price for the items we ordered which was about $5 higher than what is listed online. Once we got to the restaurant we were charged a lot more taxes and fees, sauces and for using a credit/debit card. For the prices and the food not sitting well on my stomach, I likely won't be returning. read more

I moved down to Fayetteville in July and discovered Nita's kitchen shortly thereafter. I have had several different meals from there finding the wings are fantastic. The lemon pepper wings and collard greens are my favorite. I order the combo at least three to four times a week. The fries are also seasoned perfectly. Pretty good soul food. Greens could use some vinegar and hot sauce. The chicken is pretty good as well. By being a souls food place the dishes are pretty honest and could use a dash of soul. Only thing I didn't like is how this is supposed to be a comfort food place but they totally disrespected the banana pudding. I'm from Louisiana and I know banana pudding. It only consisted of banana pudding, and crushed vanilla wafers which is wrong. I suggest either fix that recipe or stop serving the banana pudding. read more

Just like home cooking. Had to skip dessert...full on cod fish, fries and broccoli. No bread with the fish. I guess you don't really need it if it's boneless fish and you have fries!
